Andy Luther is back in part two of our interview with the actor. We discuss his movie roles, triple threats, and working for The Onion. Part one can be found here. Andy tells us stories from his time on the set of Rory’s First Kiss, aka The Dark Knight. Andy is currently in We Three over at the side project theatre company in Chicago. Another recent project is a feature film still in production, Thrill Ride. There’s a touching story behind the making of the movie and a gallery of photos of the scenes that Andy talked about. We discuss numbers/analytics vs authentic interaction. How do you measure success? Speaking of authentic interaction, what would happen if you called your friends & family instead of Facebook-ing at them? Like his approach to his own projects, he suggests unique content. We talk about the popular use of comedy in brand building. While it works, as the old saying goes, “everyone is a comedian.” David thinks contrasting all that humor with emotional content is a better strategy. Of course, you can do uniquely humorous things. While they sound like spammy tools, both products have influenced his strategy to directly phone users/customers and build real relationships & interactions.
