First we go back to the original animated series, where Captain Kirk and crew investigate a mysterious water planet; the second episode takes us to the hilarious hijinks of the USS Cerritos; and the third takes us to the newly-launched USS Voyager-A and the misadventures of Dal and company. Join us as we go boldly!
This month for our movie night, Captain Ingle and I go back in time to the year 1999 and the release of one of the most important science fiction films in recent history. Questions regarding the truth of our reality have been asked since the dawn of our species, and the Wachowski's modern classic "The Matrix" presents these thoughts in a truly profound and extremely influential way. In fact, the concepts presented in this film still resonate with us a quarter of a century later. Join us, along with special guest Aaron Dye, as we go boldly!
This week on Random Trek, I am on an away mission, so our intrepid Captain Ingle is joined by friend of the show Chris "Skywalker" Dohmen to take a look at something outside the canon of Star Trek. Recently, some very clever YouTubers put together a musical version of 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture. As both our captain and our special guest are fans of musicals, we thought it appropriate that they review this very unusual entry in the world of Trek fandom! Join us as we go boldly!
On this week's episode of our show, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the Delta Quadrant of the 24th century and the continuing misadventures of the USS Voyager. This time out, the intrepid crew yet again encounters the mischievous entity known as Q. As he often does, Q has something up his sleeve, and this time its a desire to procreate! And who has he chosen to be the mother of his offspring? None other than our unflappable Captain Kathryn Janeway! And as you can imagine, hijinks ensue! Join us as we go boldly!

On this episode of our show, Captain Ingle and I set a course for last week! How is this possible, you might ask? Well, as the command crew of Deep Space 9 travel aboard the Defiant to a meeting on Earth, Sisko, Dax, and Bashir are accidently transported back in time to August 30th, 2024! What follows is a race against the clock to make sure history plays out as it should despite their presence in the past! Join us as we go boldly!
This week on our show, the Schwartz is with us as we take a look at the 1987 comedy-parody Mel Brooks classic Spaceballs! Spoofing everything from Star Wars to 2001: A Space Odyssey, this film tells the story of the evil Dark Helmet attempting to steal the atmosphere from the planet Druidia just as the latter's princess, Vespa, is running away from an arranged marriage. As she attempts to flee her world, she is captured by Lord Helmet and it's up to the scoundrel Lone Starr to rescue Vespa and end the tyranny of the evil planet Spaceball!

Scott McNulty with Steven Schapansky.
This week on our show, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the 24th century and the ongoing negotiations between the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union following a destructive war between the two powers. One of these colonies is inhabited a tribe of Native Americans who have sought for many years to establish a permanent home. Captain Picard is tasked with removing these natives "by any means necessary" despite his obvious objections. What will he choose? Join us as we go boldly!
On the latest episode of Random Trek, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the 23rd century and the continuing adventures of James T. Kirk and the intrepid crew of the USS Enterprise. This time around, our heroes encounter a mysterious sentient probe that is responsible for the destruction of an entire alien civilization. The probe, called Nomad, was launched from Earth in the early 21st century, but something caused it to evolve into an intelligent being bent on fulfilling its directive, which is to destroy all non-digital life forms! Join us as we go boldly!
Liz Barr, co-host of Antimatter Pod, joins Scott to discuss “Dragon’s Teeth” (VOY S6E7). Topics include the strength of Starfleet vessels, which character we’d most like to kiss (consensually), and the sadness that we don’t see the Vaadwaur in any other episodes. Liz blogged about Dragon’s Teeth too, in case you can’t get enough! Scott McNulty with Liz Barr.
This week on Random Trek, Captain Ingle and I set a course for one of the most entertaining crossovers in Star Trek history! While investigating a mysterious portal in the 24th century, Ensign Brad Boimler is accidentally sucked not only back in time but also from animation to live-action! This phenomenon deposits him in the time of Captain Pike and the crew of the original USS Enterprise, a group which the young ensign holds in very high regard. How will he get home? Join us as we go boldly!

Join us as we set forth to defend the frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan armada!
On this episode of our show, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the 22nd century and the mysteries of the Delphic Expanse. The first deals with the original USS Enterprise finding itself stuck in a galactic Bermuda Triangle of sorts. The second continues the misadventures of our favorite cut-ups from the USS Cerritos as they deal with amoral Ferengi poachers. And the third tells of the exploration of a strange world by the untested "crew" of the Protostar, and their questionable attempts to understand the mysterious planet. In this thrilling two-parter, Captain Braxton of the 29th century Federation timeship Aeon comes back in time and attempts to destroy Voyager claiming they will be responsible for a cataclysmic event that will doom humanity's future. On this week's episode of our show, Captain Ingle and I and our special guest Justin Toner set a course for the 24th AND 32nd centuries and the voyages of both the Enterprise-D and the Discovery. The reason for this is that in addition to the classic two-parter episode "Unification" from The Next Generation, the story was given a sequel of sorts in the form of the Discovery episode "Unification III", wherein the story of the Romulans and Vulcans continues. Be sure to read Grant's fantastic McSweeney's piece "Due to Falling Enrollments, We Will No Longer Offer Courses In Romulan At Starfleet Academy." Next Episode: "Daedalus" (ENT S4E10) with John Siracusa. Scott McNulty with Grant Jun Otsuki.
