On this week's edition of Extra we have a jammed pack show for your listening pleasure.  First up we hit the streets of Toronto for a new cop show with the dvd review of King : The Complete First Season (courtesy of eOne Entertainment) as a female detective fights for her place inthe force while balancing her social life.  Then it is a return to action with former WWE Superstar Steve Austin with the blu-ray/dvd review of Recoil (courtesy of eOne Entertainment) where a police officer takes the law into his own hands.  A tunnel becomes an object of terrior with the dvd review of Absentia (courtesy of Phase 4 Films) in this creepy thriller.  It's an old tale with a new twist with the blu-ray review of Footloose (2011) (courtesy of Paramount Home Video) as a young man fights a town for the right to dance.  Things come to a dramatic end with my audio book review of Graphic Audio's Lilith Saintcrow's Dante Valentine : Book 5 - To Hell and Back (courtesy of www.graphicaudio.net) as the sexy necromancer prepares for her final confrontation with the prince of hell.   Music for this episode features the songs Copenhagen by Chris Townsend, What I'm Missing by Everyday Jones, Dance With The Pharaoh by Joe Stbol and Last Dance by Oleg Galkin, they can all be found at www.famemusic.com. SP Finales, 1985, Farewell to Commutes and U-BoatsIn the Summer of 1985 SP power stopped being used on the peninsula commute trains. Meanwhile, across the bay, some of SP's last U-boats were being scrapped. This video, converted from super-eight Kodachrome movies, captures that period. As these movies were silent, this video includes the song "What I'm Missing" by Everyday Jones.

SP4449 Heads North, June 1984I just recently had some super8 movies I shot during the 1980's converted to digital video. This short movie clip was made of the World's Fair Daylight returning to Portland in 1984. My then very young sons and I chased the train north. This video is unpublished and features a full daylight train with McCloud steam, SP, Amtrak and even some BCR Alco action.
