A post-apocalyptic audio drama, in which rampant fires have destroyed not only lives and the earth, but what little civilization was left. Rhana is on a mission to restore humanity to the world. While only a few episodes of Starless were ever released, due to the creator being unable to continue to with the show, what was released was compelling and engrossing. When we arranged to do a crossover episode, I was excited about writing it, considering for the last three years I have dealt with devastating fires in some shape or form, living in Northern California. It was a future I could comprehend, and an empathy I could identify with. While the main feed for Starless is no longer available, listeners are able to access it on archive.org. A link is in the show notes. This episode was written by Alex C. Telander. The part of Jake is performed by Chris Fletcher. The part of Rhana is performed by Justy Gee.Sound design was done by Hail and Well Met Podcasts. Check out more of their great work at hailandwellmetpodcasts.com.For a link to a transcript of this episode please follow this link: https://ostiumpodcast.com/episode-53-starless-transcript/.If you enjoy Ostium and would like to support the show, you can do so on our Patreon at patreon.com/ostiumpodcast. In this episode Richard Oliver and the team from the train learn about their future in the town where they have been captured by mysterious figures who can walk through solid objects as if they weren't there. Also featuring a segment on weapons designed in the post-apocalypse and an interview with Johanna Von Straid, the train's cartographer. In this episode Johanna Von Straid was played by Justy Gee, creator of the Starless podcast which I highly recommend.Theme music is as always provided by the talented Chip Michael, for more of Chip's music go to www.soundcloud.com/chipmichael.Audio and editing assistance in making the whole episode sound better from Victoria Dubendorf.
In celebration of the Ostium Twitter account hitting 1000 followers, here's a very special release of Ostium File #144 for everyone to enjoy. If you enjoy this episode, you can get lots more Ostium Files by supporting Ostium on Patreon, as well as lots of other content. You will also get your own unique door number, and eventually, your very own Ostium File. When you made the decision to become a patron of the Ostium Podcast, you were assigned a number, a door unique to you. There was a reason for that. It is possible that Ostium has not always been abandoned, not always population zero. Perhaps at one time there were people - from the future? The past? - who traveled through the doors of Ostium to different places in time and space to learn and educate and record their experiences. Perhaps these recordings are still in existence . . . Welcome to . . . The Ostium Files. To the patron who entered through Door #144, this is your story. Written and produced by Alex C. Telander Performed by Justy Gee. If you enjoy this performance, be sure to check out her awesome podcast, Starless. Music composed by Chris Fletcher
