In our new episode we talk all about the BBC Broadcasts, released a year ago in March 2023, and the first release from Concorde Music. We go disc by disc sometimes talking about specific songs, or about the grouping of songs for each tour. We talk about what we liked, our highpoints of the release, but also what we thought could have been improved upon, as well as what we hope to see for a future release. We end the episode with the drum bit, as Dan aka "Me" talks all about the drumming on "Home By The Sea."On Disc One we talk about the special Wembley gig on the Lamb tour, and what songs of other albums were performed, and Dan was able to find a "Carpet Crawlers" performance. And here is the complete show featuring "Watcher of the Skies" used on the BBC Broadcasts. For Disc Two on the "And Then There Were Three" Mirrors Tour a video can see seen here. The famous Lyceum gig can be seen here. The Invisible Touch Tour performance video can be seen here. The We Can't Dance Tour performance can be seen here.A performance from the Calling All Stations Tour can be seen here."Virgil" is Alex C. In our fifth episode of Me & Virgil: A Genesis Brother's Podcast, we take on and deconstruct Peter Gabriel's latest album, "i/o," giving our thoughts and feelings on the album as a whole, as well as going track by track through the entire album. We also talk about the various editions the album has been released in, giving their strengths and weaknesses, as well as our thoughts on how Mr. Gabriel initially released all the songs throughout 2023. We then give our favorites and least liked songs, a little more on the tour, and then on the promising new that Peter Gabriel has lots more material still to be released. We end the episode with the Drum Bit relating to this album, and what our next episode will be. We reference a number of times throughout the episode about the videos Peter Gabriel released on YouTube related to each song that was released for the album, and you can find all those videos here: https://www.youtube.com/@itspetergabriel.We would also like to thank the fantastic podcast Tabletop Genesis for providing so much inspiration for this episode."Virgil" is Alex C. Content warning for suicide starting at 15:45 and 26:23.Well, here we are again at another season finale. Sometimes I find it hard to accept that Ostium has had six seasons, but then I think about how much more story there is to tell and I just get so excited about what's to come. And for reference, we're at the halfway point in the Ostium narrative right now. At least for this series, but that's all I'm going to say about that. I know it took a long time to get this whole season out to the world and I would like to thank everyone for their patience in that. There's a lot going on in the world right now, both in the public space and in our private lives, and sometimes there are delays we can't avoid. So thanks again for sticking around. I would also like to thank the incredible people I have working for me in Team Ostium. Thank you to Chris, Georgia and Emily. I'm very excited to see where our story goes next. Thank you to Mike Nye, a true magician when it comes to sound design. You turn words and dialogue into magical stories that come to life. Couldn't do it without you, mate! Thank you to Christina for helping out in so many ways and keeping the Discord running. Thank you to twiglettsaregreattoeat, you do so much for this show and so many others. Thank you so much. And thank you to our Ostium Network patrons on Patreon: Davin McBride, Tyla Kraut, Delano McFarlane, Connor Bobbi, Michelle Elliott, Amanda Borthwick, Justin Marcum, Corey Frampton, deathtokomatsu, Daryl Williamson, Virginia Greene, Nom Blashki, Maggie B, Justin Dunafon, Lutz Albers, twigletsaregreattoeat, lunaraptor, Christine Sanderson, Claire Smith, Michele Hall, The Team at Hail and Well Met, Mike Nye, Mike Troup, Staci Corcoran, and thank you to Christina Amos. And that brings us truly to the end of season six. This season took a lot of work, but I think the result was one of our best seasons of the show. And season seven is currently being written and is taking the show in some interesting directions. I'd like to say it'll be out some time in 2024, but I think it's more likely to be January 2025. We'll just have to wait and see. For now this is Alex C. Telander, putting Ostium Season Six to bed and signing off for now. This episode was written, edited, and produced by Alex C. Telander. The part of Jake is performed by Chris Fletcher. Welcome to Me & Virgil: A Genesis Brother's Podcast Episode 3: Danceable Part 1. In this episode we focus and talk about side 1 of the album that started it all for us: We Can't Dance, released on 11th November by Virgin Records. It is, as mentioned, the album that introduced to us what would become our favourite band of all time. And so naturally we very heavily discuss the impact the album had on our lives (and still does) and the many nostalgic feelings and stories that came from it especially being that present at the time of its release.Considering our love for this album, we decided not to rush ourselves and so split the album into two episodes. This episode, we then cover side 1 of this album, with the tracks being "No Son of Mine" up to "Dreaming While You Sleep".A lot of relatable documentaries are also mentioned, including where Daniel shares about Phil appearing on VH1 Storytellers and performing plus and explaining the birth of "No Son of Mine" and "I Can't Dance". You can watch the full episode including the Dance tracks here. "I Can't Dance" appears at 10:42 mark and No Son appears right afterwards at 15:06. Phil also covers "Since I Lost You" which we will share in the next episode. Other documentaries mentioned, are the very special behind the scenes secure footage of the band recording this very album, where Virgil and Daniel drool upon the overall sheer sound and production, along with comparisons to the live versions from the "We Can't Dance" tour and beyond. The "No Admittance" documentary can be found here.Other documentaries shared are "Genesis A History", made the previous year before the Dance album which you can view right here.Along with what Daniel calls, "a director's cut" of the same documentary known as "The Story So Far" which, despite it's viewing and sound quality, Daniel still regards it as a golden gem, and you can check all that out here. The drum bit makes a return, this time using a song from the album as an example, Daniel shares how the drums can be played in a very different way thanks to the influence of a certain former Genesis member. "Virgil" is Alex C. Telander."Me" is Daniel Telander. This episode was edited and mixed by Dan Telander, and produced and hosted by Dan Telander and Alex C.
