Frank Martin is a comic writer and author. Since his writing career began he's had multiple short stories published in horror anthologies by numerous indie publications. Frank has also had comic shorts appear in the "fluff noir" anthology series Torsobear and the all-ages horror anthology Cthulhu is Hard to Spell. Frank also wrote and produced the comic anthology series Modern Testament, which featured a wide ensemble of artists throughout its four volumes. Frank's novels include the YA sci-fi thriller Predestiny published by Crossroads Press, the lake monster tale Oscawana published by Severed Press, among others.

Time for another double-header episode this week! First up is Mark London, a high-power comics creator from Mad Cave Studios. He’s one of the driving forces behind three of that company’s comics, including Battlecats, the upcoming Knights of the Golden Sun, and Midnight Task Force, a sci-fi cyberpunk book that’s a particular favorite of mine! We talk about these passion projects, what Midnight Task Force is about as well as what the future might hold for that series, and what the company is doing to attract quality new comics creators! This week’s guests are Charlie Stickney and Conor Hughes, the writer and artist of White Ash.  They describe this book as “Romeo & Juliet meets Lord of the Rings in rural Pennsylvania.” If that doesn’t hook you, nothing will.  Charlie and Conor are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to fund the release of the third issue of White Ash. Spotlight on Insane Comics: writer Frank Martin talks about his anthology series Modern Testament, his upcoming work plus we digress about Weird Al!

Luke and I interview Brad and Kellie Farley, founders of www.ModernTestament.org and a couple in the midst of fighting to save their marriage from alcoholism and infidelity. They drew strength by hearing other people's nightmares, and how they made it out alive. Inspired by their stories of brokenness, hurt, and recovery, they began to fashion a website for people to do the same thing on a new kind of website. The Modern Testament is how you describe the Holy Spirit working in the midst of your brokenness. I'll let Brad tell it from his post on Medium: “For me, 2016 was getting fired for the first time, coming to the realization that I was a piece of shit person whose arrogance and selfishness put those around me in bad spots, dealing with a failing marriage, coming clean about 7 years of secrets and lies, and my wife’s first-hidden then public alcohol abuse.Religion was my turning point. Always a casual Christian, I dove deep and found the inspiration to make real, substantial change. That’s not everyone’s driver though, but a simple fact remains: when we are vulnerable and honest with each other, pretensions fall and real connections can be made.I have shared my testimony with many people and it has fostered much deeper relationships than I ever had before. So that’s what we want to do; connect people together through humility and vulnerability.
