Monarch butterflies in the East are passing the 49º Latitude aka USA/Canada border and beginning the migration South toward Mexico. Learn where they will be in the next month and when they traditionally arrive in Mexico. Tim Wong is saving the California Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly by growing the host plant, California Pipevine. I travel to Golden Gate Park to meet Tim and learn about his amazing mission to preserve a rare butterfly species. Monarchs may be in Newport Beach but its other bugs and birds that we meet as I take a bug walk with my seven year old neice Josephine.
