Then the arguments explode, and Shaun Morash becomes the lightning rod. Tiki is fully in on the pride, the emotion, and the “USA across the chest” rush. Evan admits the win was incredible, but questions why it fades so fast compared to the months long misery and payoff of being a real fan of your teams. Meanwhile Morash wrestles with the ultimate New York sports fan dilemma: how do you celebrate an American hero when that hero plays for a rival, and does this whole thing feel like a cheap championship? Plus: Miracle on Ice nostalgia, 2010 USA Canada scars, why Olympic hockey hits different than the WBC, what Olympic baseball in 2028 could become, and callers weighing in with the one question that matters: did this actually feel like a championship, or was it just a great Sunday morning show that you moved on from an hour later?

US Hockey wins GOLD! What a game, what an Olympic journey as the US beat Canada 2-1 in OT to bring the gold medal back to the states for the first time since the 1980 Miracle on Ice team. Could the feat cause a renewed surge in hockey and grow the sport even more? :30- What Chuck learned from Spring Training Part 1: What's the plan for second base? It seems fans are all that convinced that Cole Young is the answer, but the Mariners sure seem to be convinced that he's the guy. Colt Emerson is being given the opportunity to win a roster spot, but the chances aren't very high that he will start the season in the majors. There is a strong chance he will get the call up during the season and they will just have to figure out where to play him. And what about Michael Arroyo? He got people talking over the weekend and could be the third baseman of the future for the M's. Ryan Bliss seems headed for a utility role after winning the 2nd base job last year and going out with an injury. Miles Mastrobuoni looked good in camp, he's put on weight and seems ready to make an impact this season in a utility role as well. :45- It's Pajama Party week as the NFL combine gets underway in Indianapolis. In this episode of Light Beer Dark Money, Sean Noble and Chris Clements go “live from the cave” for a quick hit—but it turns into a full-on America-first celebration of an incredible Winter Olympics showing. They start with Team USA's historic medal haul (including Alysa Liu's gold and her family's powerful story escaping communism), then break down the moment everyone will remember: the USA–Canada hockey gold medal game going to sudden-death overtime and the U.S. burying the winner. The guys compare the feeling to the “Miracle on Ice” era—right down to the nostalgia of watching the 1980 call and remembering where they were when it happened. From there, they hit the politics that always shadows international sports: Canada's rivalry, Trudeau's old comments, the White House trolling, and the reality that beating the best matters (including the complicated fact Russia isn't in the Olympics). They close with love for the women's team, appreciation for athletes leaning into patriotism, and a look ahead to the LA Summer Olympics—plus what it will take for California to clean up in time. #USA #Olympics #Hockey #Canada #MiracleOnIce #TeamUSA #WinterOlympics #Patriotism Follow Light Beer Dark Money on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lightbeerdarkmoney/ Follow Light Beer Dark Money on Twitter: https://twitter.com/LBDMshow Follow Light Beer Dark Money on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/light-beer-dark-money/ Link to the Light Beer Dark Money Blog: https://lightbeerdarkmoney.com/hypocrisy-and-the-aoc-oh-sandy/

Native Fire-Resistant Grass from North America (USA & Canada) to Prevent Forest and Urban Wildfires refers to naturally occurring grass species that evolved in the fire-prone landscapes of North America and possess characteristics that help reduce the intensity, speed, and spread of wildfires. These grasses are native to the United States and Canada, meaning they developed over thousands of years in balance with local climates, soils, wildlife, and natural fire cycles. Unlike invasive or highly flammable grasses, fire-resistant native grasses tend to have higher moisture content, deeper root systems, and growth patterns that do not easily carry flames. Because of these traits, they are increasingly recognized as an ecological tool for wildfire prevention rather than as fuel for fire.In forests, grasslands, and wildland–urban interface zones, native fire-resistant grasses play a quiet but important protective role. Their dense root networks stabilize soil, retain moisture, and reduce dry surface debris that often ignites during heatwaves or droughts. Many of these grasses grow in clumps or low-lying forms, creating natural breaks in fuel continuity that slow down advancing fires. When fire does occur, these grasses tend to burn at lower temperatures and recover quickly afterward, supporting ecosystem renewal without escalating into destructive megafires. This natural resilience makes them valuable allies in sustainable land and forest management across North America. In urban and suburban environments, especially near forests or open land, native fire-resistant grasses are used as living fire buffers. They are planted along roadsides, parks, green belts, and residential landscapes to reduce wildfire risk while maintaining ecological beauty. Because they are adapted to local conditions, they require less irrigation, fewer chemicals, and minimal maintenance compared to non-native ornamental plants. Beyond fire prevention, these grasses improve air quality, support pollinators, and enhance biodiversity. In this way, native fire-resistant grasses offer a simple, elegant, and nature-based solution for protecting both wild landscapes and human communities from the growing threat of wildfires.
