After many head scratching years of wondering why pro league squash hadn't taken off in the US, Fernando Valdizan along with co-founders Spencer Lovejoy and Timmy Brownell have put something truly special together with the National Squash League. The NSL is set for it's 3rd season after 2 incredibly successful previous editions. Fernando and I talk about how this all came together, what it means for squash overall, expansion, and much more.
In this study we will take a look at the miracles that Yahweh performed on the Egyptians, when Israel was held in bondage, during this period in Exodus. We will see that those miracles were against the Egyptian deities or gods that they worshipped. The story of Moses is not just the story of the freedom of a group of slaves from Egypt in the second millennium BCE. It is the blueprint of the Plan of Salvation of the world as seen from the structure laid down in the Bible. Moses was the prototype of the Christ or Messiah. More importantly, the nation of Israel saw Moses as a prototype and the Bible record illustrates that point. Moses said: ‘And Yahweh said unto me, they have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.' (Deut. 18:17-18,).In this study I continue in chapter 8. Chapter 8Verses 16-19 3rd Plague Lice16 stretch = ‘nâṭâh' ‘naw-taw'' ‘nun-tet-hey' Aleph-Tav'Nun = (seed) continue, heir, sontet/thet = ( clay basket) surround, contain, mudhey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and cross The Hebrew Letter ‘nun' is a picture of a seed, whereas the Letter ‘tet' is a picture of a basket. Combined these mean "seed basket". Squash seeds were planted along the routes of the travelers and nomads for future use by themselves and other travelers. The squash plant spreads out over a large area forming varied sizes and shapes of squash fruit. Dried squash fruit becomes a hard hollow shell (seed basket) with the seeds inside and when shaken they rattle inside.Smite = “nâkâh” “naw-kaw'” “nun-kaph-hey” “Aleph-Tav”Nun = (seed) continue, heir, sonKaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tamehey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew Letter ‘nun' is a picture of a seed, the letter ‘kaph' is a picture of the palm of the hand. Combined these mean "seed in the palm". Seeds of certain plants were placed in the palm and rubbed with the thumb to a powdery spice. Wow! Can you see what I see? I can picture Yahshua Messiah hanging on Calvary's Cross, arms stretched out ‘palms open up' holding the seeds of those that place their faith in Him! Once again we see Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah defeating death! lice = An Egyptian word, mosquito-gnat, some believe sand fleas or fleas. The Hebrew word occurs only in connection with this plague.17 and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man and in beast = which shows it was a miraculous operation, since lice do not usually spring from dust, but thrive in the sweat of bodies,18 did so = Hebrew idiom, attempted to do so. This question is answered in verse 2423 Referring to the first miracle of Aaron's serpent, to which he paid no attention.Chapter 8 Verses 1-15 Second Plague FrogsI Read from the Legends of the Old Testament, Moses before Pharaoh 1. Her name is Heket (Heqet). A goddess of childbirth and protector of the dead. She is the daughter of Ra and is sometimes called the 'Eye of Ra' and 'Mother of the gods'. She is shown as a frog, a symbol of life and fertility (millions of them are born after the annual inundation of the Nile), or as a woman with a frog's head. Is being competitive a bad trait? Should you squash your desire to be the best? Your competitive drive can make you exceptional if used correctly. Squash it, and you're staring mediocrity in the face. The natural drive to be the best is a powerful tool to serve Hashem. Use it to your advantage, just like many Torah giants have done - transforming their lives and the world around them.
The fight continues, with a do or die, balls to the walls, all chips in attitude - from both sides. Lafian does what he does best, Rhal gets sweet revenge, Squash makes a deal and Zaltanna infuses red lightning. Will this offensive work in our heroes favor, or in Daechin's? Today, we talk about multiple ways to prepare squash — beyond just sautéing it — and cover all of our usual Monday segments. Featured Event: Strong Roots Resources: Foraging on the Farm – July 12 Details: https://www.livingfreeintennessee.com/event/foraging-on-the-farm-5/ Sponsor 1: DiscountMylarBags.com – Long-term food storage supplies that won't break the bank. Sponsor 2: AgoristTaxAdvice.com – Solid tax strategies for those of us living outside the system. Tales from the Prepper Pantry The prepper pantry is in full disaster mode after hosting last weekend's Rabbit Meatup. Whirling dervish level. Trippy Acres Farm dropped a mountain of summer abundance — squash everywhere. Hence, this week's topic. Green bean canning season has officially started. Quick late-night taco bowl using leftovers was a winner — beans, meat, rice, and pantry odds-and-ends. Question from Brent How to get started with my freeze dryer Operation Independence The Rabbit Processing Class was a huge success. Students built their own gambrels, processed their rabbits, and got a crash course in rabbit as food. We even sold coffee — win-win. Also, the new HVAC is in at Holler Roast. A friend did the install as a trade, and I'll be returning the favor next year with something from my skillset. Main Topic of the Day: Multiple Ways to Prepare Squash Why This Matters Squash piles up fast — and it's easy to get sick of it. Most people fry it or make bread. There's a lot more you can do. Fresh & Fast (Use It Now) Sautéed with onions — our daily go-to. Grilled slices — pairs great with eggs. Grated raw on salad. Scrambled into omelets. Zoodles — spiralized and tossed with sauce or oil. Main Dishes Squash lasagna — layers of meat, sauce, cheese, and squash slices. Ratatouille — classic, often forgotten, but easy to batch. Stuffed squash boats — ground beef, bell pepper, topped with cheese. Preserved & Long-Term Flour-dusted slices (chicken flour) — freeze for winter sauté. Pickled squash relish — excellent with charcuterie, recipe from Dawn Gorham. Ratatouille — freezes well in portions. Squash lasagna — prep now, freeze, and bake later. Stuffed squash boats — freeze unbaked or parbaked for easy winter meals. Zucchini/squash bread — not our thing anymore, but worth mentioning. Experimental / Less Common Planning to try freeze-dried squash chips with garlic and salt. Squash tossed into soups (though it can fall apart) Make it a great week.
