In this conversation, Pastor Jack sits down with Pastor Joshua as he shares about his lifelong battle with depression. Studies estimate 350 million people suffer from depression globally. Depression knows no religious, racial, gender, or economic boundaries. Depression can affect anyone of any age and can be experienced at many levels for many different reasons. Our hope is that this conversation reminds you that are seen, you are loved by God, and there is hope in Jesus.

The Story Ship's Voyage 17 brings us to meet internationally known storyteller, Barry Stewart Mann. I think of Barry as the Ambassador Of Storytelling. He travels the world sharing our culture with others through storytelling. In this episode, Barry tells us a wonderful story that he wrote years ago about letting go. "Good Grief The Leaf" was created for children but I think you will find this story has a special message that resonates really for adults.  Please visit us online to find out how you can get your school or organization on, "The Story Ship Podcast." You can also see information about our workshops teaching teachers and students how to write their own stories and setup podcasts for their school. Call 912-663-6320 for more information.

THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast

On today’s show, Carly and I get to visit with Stewart Mann; front-man and primary songwriter for The Statesboro Revue out of New Braunfels, TX.  Along with being somewhat of a visionary when it comes to his music, Stewart’s gears are always turning, but we’ll get to that in just a second. Formed in 2008, The Statesboro Revue, can be described as a groove oriented, old school southern rock and roll band, with a heap of soul and a dash of swampiness.  In 2009, Rolling Stone Magazine noted that the Statesboro Revue performance was a highlight at South by Southwest. On the Troubadour Carly and I get to visit with tons of great artists and just down right good people.  This interview with Stewart reinforced that, and he’s definitely a guy I’d just like to sit down and have a beer with. So, let me say a little bit about what kind of a person Stewart is, on top of being such a great artist with his velvety soulful voice. During this time of pandemic in our country, Stewart has recently created I HEART TEXAS ARTS.  The goal with I HEART TEXAS ARTS is to provide financial assistance, mental well-being checklists, and life-coaching for those in need. He and Wade Bowen teamed up on the song, “Sinner, Saint, S.O.B.” with proceeds from the song to help fund the I HEART TEXAS ARTS project.  Please go stream the song and call your radio station to request it.  If you want to contribute to the project please email info@ihearttexasarts.com. So here we go with episode #75 of The Troubadour featuring our interview with The Statesboro Revue Frontman, Stewart Mann. Shampoo is better. I go on first and clean the hair. Conditioner is better. I leave the hair silky and smooth. Oh, really, fool? Really. Stop looking at me, swan. This week I volunteered to connect those satellites between I40 and the Lonestar state to chew the Buc-ee’s jerky and get a little red dirt under my nails with one of my favorite singers on the planet Stewart Mann.  Statesboro has had many a hit on the Texas Red Dirt scene and shared the stage with too many titans to mention. Stewart has one of the most soulful voices on the planet. Rumor has it he may have sang a Sam Cooke song one rainy Dallas  night with yours truly. Stewart and spend our time talking about our journeys through the music business, getting older, what does it all mean, and balancing it all with family. So sit back, buckle up and adjust the rearview, the exits for McKenzie and Parkers Crossroad are just ahead on this weeks episode of Nashville to Memphis. Now that we figured out who the real DB Cooper was and where he hid the money check out Stewarts music at www.statesbororevue.com Opening Quote from the movie Billy Madison. Brothers Stewart and Garrett Mann, of the Texas-based group The Statesboro Revue stopped by Jacob’s hotel room on the road to chat. They discuss being in a band with your brother, how that can be positive and negative, what led them to want to play music, which one thinks they’re better looking (no one could agree on that one), among other random thoughts and shenanigans. Then they have a nice little acoustic, hotel room jam at the end, so stick around!
