In hour 2: Dolphins order on wish list, Burrow, Jackson, Tomlin or Harbaugh plus winning is an attitude.
The Jets managed to turn a $100,000 field goal giveaway into a full-blown PR embarrassment, NFL quarterbacks gave their offensive lines some of the weirdest Christmas gifts imaginable, and we close the year by running through the absolute best (and dumbest) sports stories of 2025. Along the way, things get off the rails in very predictable Craft Brewed Sports fashion. On this episode: • Weekend sports recap and the important question: who is actually the Chiefs' QB? • A listener-submitted Sip, Chug, Drainpour about soup exposes Mookie for putting BBQ sauce in potato soup • The Jets lose all goodwill by barring a fan from a $100K FG contest… then scrambling after public backlash • Sip, Chug, Drainpour: QB Christmas gifts edition • Tua's infrared therapy mats • Burrow's prehistoric fossils • Josh Allen buying literal meat • What we would buy our offensive linemen • The Raiders shamelessly tanking and Maxx Crosby calling it out • The rise of the NFL Short King (RBs and WRs included) • Why the AFC North and NFC South don't deserve playoff spots or home games • Recapping the best sports stories of 2025, including: • High school baseball chaos • Kendrick's halftime show • The Chiefs failing to three-peat • A soccer match canceled because someone pooped in a ref's shoe • Coaching firings, Lane Kiffin, political nonsense, and MLB playoff insanity • Notre Dame, Pop-Tarts, sprinkle helmets, Lou Holtz takes, and whether it's cake • NBA players entering the NCAA and Ted Cruz somehow getting involved • Final beer recaps and closing out a ridiculous year Sports talk without the fake seriousness. Zac Taylor's decision to play his starters, including quarterback Joe Burrow, in the final game of the season against the Cleveland Browns was a choice that sparked debate among fans and analysts. At the surface level, resting key players in a meaningless or low-stakes finale can seem like the safer option, especially when considering injury risk. However, Taylor's approach reflected a broader philosophy about competitiveness, culture, and preparation. One major factor behind the decision was momentum. Ending the season on a strong note can matter, particularly for a team trying to reinforce confidence and consistency. By playing Burrow and other starters, Taylor signaled that every game counts, regardless of playoff implications. This mindset helps establish a culture where effort and accountability do not fluctuate based on circumstance. For a franchise that has worked to shed years of inconsistency, maintaining that standard is significant. There was also a developmental and rhythm-based argument. Burrow, coming off a demanding season, benefits from staying in sync with his receivers and offensive line. Game reps cannot be fully replicated in practice, and extended time off before the postseason—or the offseason—can disrupt timing. Taylor likely believed that keeping the offense sharp outweighed the controlled risk of limited snaps. Critics, however, pointed to the obvious downside: injury. The Browns, a divisional rival, play a physical brand of football, and exposing franchise players in a final-week matchup always carries danger. For some, the potential long-term cost to Burrow's health was not worth the short-term benefits. Ultimately, Taylor's decision highlighted his trust in his players and his commitment to a competitive identity. While reasonable minds can disagree on the risk-reward balance, the choice aligned with a coaching philosophy that prioritizes preparation, toughness, and treating every game as meaningful. CINCINNATI -- For the second straight week, the Bengals raced out to a huge lead and gave their franchise quarterback Joe Burrow the fourth quarter off to relax in a 37-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at Paycor Stadium. Ja'Marr Chase got back in the touchdown column with two scores while Burrow had another 300-yard game, his 28th, matching Andy Dalton for the most in Bengals history. Offensive lineman Cody Ford stole the show on his 29th birthday by catching a pass for 21 yards in the romp. Trags and Skinny break down the highlights. Learn more about your ad choices. In a convincing home performance at Paycor Stadium, the **Cincinnati Bengals cruised to a 37-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, never trailing and dominating across all three phases of the game. Quarterback Joe Burrow was the catalyst for Cincinnati's offense, throwing for 305 yards and two touchdown passes to star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase. Burrow's efficient performance tied the franchise record for most 300-yard passing games (28), previously held by Andy Dalton. Chase was a constant threat, hauling in seven catches for 60 yards and both of his scores. With this outing, he became the first player in NFL history to record at least 80 receptions, 1,000 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in each of his first five seasons, a remarkable milestone reflecting his elite consistency. The Bengals also got a strong ground game from Chase Brown, who finished with 101 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, helping Cincinnati take control early and keep the Cardinals on their heels. Cincinnati's offense was so dominant that Burrow came out in the fourth quarter, with backup Joe Flacco taking over as the victory was well in hand. The Bengals amassed over 400 yards of total offense, showcasing balance and explosive playmaking. Despite the loss, the Cardinals had a highlight when tight end Trey McBride set the NFL single-season reception record for a tight end with 119 catches, giving Arizona a rare positive takeaway. Cincinnati improves to 6-10 on the season with the win, while Arizona falls to 3-13, extending a tough campaign. Music from #InAudio: https://inaudio.org/ Track Name Holy (Trap). The Cincinnati Bengals (5-10) host the Arizona Cardinals (3-12) this Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff on FOX. Both teams are eliminated from playoff contention in disappointing 2025 seasons, turning this late-season matchup into a battle for pride, momentum heading into the offseason, and potentially better draft positioning. The Bengals enter on a high note after exploding for 45 points in a dominant Week 16 win over the Miami Dolphins. Joe Burrow looked sharp in his return from injury, throwing for over 300 yards with multiple touchdowns, while Ja'Marr Chase and the offense clicked efficiently. Chase Brown added a strong rushing performance, and the unit showed flashes of the explosiveness that has defined Cincinnati in recent years. However, the defense remains a major concern, ranking near the bottom of the league in points allowed (30.5 per game) and struggling against the pass and tight ends. Arizona, meanwhile, is mired in a seven-game losing streak, most recently falling 26-19 to the Atlanta Falcons. With Kyler Murray sidelined for the season due to injury, Jacoby Brissett has been under center, leading an inconsistent offense that relies heavily on tight end Trey McBride (over 1,000 yards and double-digit touchdowns). The Cardinals' run game has been decimated by injuries to backs like James Conner and Trey Benson, leaving Michael Carter as the primary option. Defensively, Arizona has been porous, allowing 30+ points in several recent games, though they can keep things close against vulnerable units. Bengals are favored by about 7 points, with a high over/under around 53.5, reflecting expectations of a potential shootout given both teams' defensive woes and offensive talent. Burrow's presence gives Cincinnati a clear edge at quarterback, and home-field advantage in cold December weather could trouble the dome-accustomed Cardinals. Key storylines include Burrow continuing to build momentum post-injury, McBride's dominance against a Bengals defense weak vs. tight ends, and whether Arizona can snap their skid against a team with more natural talent. Experts largely side with Cincinnati, but the Cardinals' ability to move the ball through the air could keep it competitive. In a "meaningless" game for standings, look for fireworks and individual performances to shine. Bengals are poised to win, likely covering in a high-scoring affair. Merry Christmas from the basement studio. Season 7, Episode 16 kicks off with holiday energy, Frank's cookies, Mariah Carey impressions, and a friendly argument over whether this is the Joe Montana episode (it is) or the Dwight Gooden episode (absolutely not). Dan and Frank are joined by Alan “Action” Jackson and sound man Rich, and the crew sets the tone with laughs, old-school sports references, and the kind of festive chaos only a Christmas edition can deliver. The show opens with a quick run through MLB Hot Stove surprises, most notably the Pirates actually spending money, the Mets continuing their “clean house” approach by shipping Jeff McNeil to the A's (with cash attached), and a Moneyball-style analogy about teams paying to get rid of contracts. The Mets' bigger picture remains unsettled: Frank still isn't over losing Alonso, but he's holding judgment until the roster is fully built, especially given that pitching was the real issue last season. The crew also hits the Knicks debate (and the ongoing cheesesteak wager), before sliding into a quick fantasy football note as Alan celebrates making the Super Bowl with a team peaking at the right time. Then it's a full recap of NFL Week 16, starting with Saturday games and rolling right through Sunday:Eagles over Washington (29–18) to clinch the division.Bears over Packers (22–16 OT) in a controversial, windy game featuring injuries and a surprising “go-for-broke” overtime bomb.Saints over Jets (28–6) as New Orleans' QB continues to look like a real starter.Bills over Browns (23–20) in a tighter-than-expected win.Titans over Chiefs (26–9) as Kansas City's injury spiral continues.Chargers smashing Cowboys (34–17) with Dallas exposed by brutal run defense and wide-open play-action.Vikings edging Giants (16–13) as the crew questions the Giants' ultra-run-heavy approach and whether draft positioning is quietly shaping decisions.Panthers over Bucs (23–20) as Carolina takes control of a shaky division.Bengals steamrolling Dolphins (45–21) with Burrow and company lighting up the scoreboard.Jaguars over Broncos (34–20) in a major upset, with Jacksonville looking increasingly legitimate.Texans slipping past Raiders (23–21) in a game Houston “won” but didn't exactly dominate.Steelers over Lions (29–24) with Aaron Rodgers looking sharp—and the biggest controversy of the week: DK Metcalf's sideline altercation with a fan, resulting in a two-game suspension and a heated debate about fan behavior, accountability, and where the league should draw the line. The episode wraps with a strong message: most fans are respectful, but it only takes one person crossing the line to turn the entire spotlight ugly, especially when players are being baited into losing control.Special Thanks to:Fox Brothers Alarms - https://foxbrothersalarms.comFirst Baptist church of Phillipsburg NJ http://www.fbcpburg.org/

Local 12 Digital Sports Columnist and Editor Richard Skinner was joined by Mike Petraglia from CLNS media to analyze the Cincinnati Bengals victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025.=====================MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Joe Burrow rebounded from his first time being shut out to throw for 309 yards and four touchdowns as the Cincinnati Bengals routed the Miami Dolphins 45-21 on Sunday.Miami (6-9) and Cincinnati (5-10) were both eliminated from playoff contention last week, but the teams insisted they were still motivated for the final three games of the season. It appeared that way in the first half. Cincinnati held a 17-14 halftime lead before blowing the game open with 28 points off four straight Dolphins turnovers.Burrow carved up Miami's defense, completing 25 of 32 throws with a 146.5 passer rating before being replaced by veteran Joe Flacco early in the fourth quarter. Two of Burrow's touchdown passes went to running back Chase Brown, from 9 and 5 yards out. Brown, who finished with 66 yards rushing and 43 receiving, also had a 12-yard touchdown run. All of Brown's TDs came in the third, making him the first player this season with three scores in a single quarter.Ja'Marr Chase caught nine passes for 109 yards. Tee Higgins had an athletic 9-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter. And former Dolphin Mike Gesicki added a 17-yard TD before doing the Griddy front of his old team.In the first start of his career, Dolphins rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers led two scoring drives before throwing a pair of interceptions as Miami unrivaled in the second half for the second straight week.Ewers, who completed 20 of 30 passes for 260 yards, was named Miami's starter earlier this week. The embattled Tua Tagovailoa was benched following last week's poor performance at Pittsburgh, in which he threw his league-leading 15th interception.Ewers, a seventh-round pick out of Texas, has hardly taken any first-team practice reps, instead running the scout team most of the season. That didn't matter much to coach Mike McDaniel, who indicated his standard has not been met from the quarterback position and felt Ewers could provide a spark.Ewers got off to a strong start Sunday. He was 10 of 12 in the first half and was decisive and effective on play-action.Tagovailoa, who led the league in passing in 2023 but has not played up to the four-year, $212.4 million contract extension signed in 2024, was Miami's emergency third quarterback behind Ewers and veteran Zach Wilson.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Cincinnati Bengals (4-10) close out their road slate Sunday in Miami against the Dolphins (6-8) in a game devoid of playoff implications for Cincy but rich with opportunity. After being officially eliminated from postseason contention, Zac Taylor's club has a chance to build momentum into 2026 and reestablish competitive identity over the final three weeks. Offensively, Joe Burrow and his talented receiving corps will look to bounce back from a tough shutout loss to Baltimore, where Burrow was held to 225 yards with two interceptions and Ja'Marr Chase still showed elite playmaking ability. Getting the offense untracked is priority one, and fresh legs in the passing game — particularly from Chase and whoever emerges as a No. 2 option — could exploit a Dolphins secondary missing playmakers at times. Cincinnati's defense, however, enters with concerns. The interior defensive line has taken hits with B.J. Hill and Kris Jenkins Jr. trending toward inactivity, and Joseph Ossai's ankle issues further weaken pass-rush depth. That could challenge a Miami attack transitioning to rookie Quinn Ewers under center after benching Tua Tagovailoa amid a season leading the league in interceptions. From a scheme standpoint, the Bengals can attack a Dolphins defense that has been inconsistent against the run and susceptible in the secondary — offering a blueprint for Cincinnati to sustain drives and flip field position. Turnovers and discipline will be key; forcing mistakes from an inexperienced Miami QB could tilt the game. Ultimately, while the Bengals aren't fighting for a playoff spot, Sunday serves as a referendum on effort, growth, and offseason trajectory. A strong road performance — especially in a physical division battle — can boost confidence and spotlight emerging core pieces heading into 2026. In this wide ranging NFL episode, Mark, Cody, and Jay dive into what it really means to be a sports fan and why fandom matters. The crew debates whether investing emotional energy into sports is pointless or powerful, discussing how sports build discipline, community, shared identity, and generational connection. The conversation blends humor, culture, and perspective with comparisons to pop culture fandoms like Game of Thrones. The episode then shifts into a full NFL Week analysis, starting with the Buffalo Bills comeback win over the New England Patriots. Josh Allen's leadership, defensive resilience, turnover margins, and playoff implications take center stage as the group breaks down why the Bills remain dangerous and why the Patriots may still benefit from the loss.Next, the crew analyzes the Denver Broncos win over the Green Bay Packers, highlighting Bo Nix's breakout performance and Jordan Love's inconsistency. They debate whether the Packers struggles come from quarterback inefficiency, coaching scheme issues, roster depth, or injuries and question Green Bay's ability to compete with elite NFC teams.Chicago sports fandom sparks debate as the group reflects on Bears history, iconic jerseys, and memorable players before breaking down the Lions vs Rams matchup, one of the most entertaining and high scoring games of the week.Wide receiver rankings take over the conversation as the crew debates Puka Nacua vs JaMarr Chase, breaking down route running, volume, blocking, and overall impact. They also examine the Detroit Lions playoff chances, noting how an 8 and 6 record still leaves them outside the postseason in a crowded NFC.A major turning point in the episode centers on the Kansas City Chiefs playoff elimination and Patrick Mahomes torn ACL injury, with serious questions raised about the Chiefs future, offensive line issues, and lack of elite receiving options. The group discusses the absence of dominant teams across the NFL and what it means for parity heading into the postseason. The conversation heats up with Joe Burrow trade hypotheticals, exploring potential destinations including the Vikings, Seahawks, and Chiefs. The group debates roster fits, coaching situations, and how Burrow could immediately change struggling franchises. To close out the episode, the crew runs through NFL game predictions and previews, including Rams vs Seahawks, Packers vs Bears, Panthers vs Buccaneers, Broncos vs Jaguars, Ravens vs Patriots, Steelers vs Lions, and Bengals vs Dolphins. They also debate the Miami Dolphins quarterback situation, expressing concerns about Tua Tagovailoa's long term future. If you are searching for NFL Week analysis, Bills Patriots recap, Chiefs injury news, Joe Burrow trade rumors, Bears Packers breakdown, Puka Nacua debate, Lions playoff chances, Dolphins quarterback controversy, and NFL predictions, this episode delivers deep discussion, bold takes, and nonstop debate.

92.3 The Fan Browns beat reporter Daryl Ruiter joined Jeff Phelps and Dan Menningen Thursday talking about the Browns upcoming matchup with the Bills on Sunday and why he believes this could be Josh Allen's year to get to the big game.
Ahead of Week 16 vs. the Miami Dolphins, Bengals QB Joe Burrow addressed the media with candid, reflective, and at times cryptic comments about his mindset, the season, and his future in the NFL. In his opening remarks, Burrow made one thing clear: he still loves playing football. “I just want to play ball” was the overarching theme of his message — emphasizing that his passion for the game is what keeps him going, even through adversity. Burrow said it often feels like “everybody's trying to do everything in their power to make me not play football,” but he's fighting through it because he likes playing the game. When asked about the possibility of playing elsewhere, Burrow gave an intriguing answer: “You think about a lot of things.” While he didn't close the door on future possibilities, he also said he “can't see a world in which he's not with the Bengals in 2026.” He reiterated that he expects to play for a long time, projecting confidence in his longevity and performance at a high level, even as this season has been one of setbacks and frustration. Burrow also supported his coaches and teammates, suggesting that while changes might be needed, the organization has the right people in place — and that everyone wants the same thing: to win. Mike's out, so naturally Mookie immediately starts messing with the background, and somehow that becomes a recurring issue all night. We kick things off with beer intros before diving headfirst into the Joe Burrow discourse. Is he hinting at retirement, or is he just completely done with Cincinnati? Fans don't seem especially sympathetic, especially when the Bengals once again look like one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the league, capped off by violating NFL policy and forcing fans to shovel snow out of their own seats before getting shut out by Baltimore. Things spiral from there. Patrick Mahomes blows out his knee, the Tom Brady comparisons come fast, and we try to figure out where the Chiefs go from here, including which NFC team Mahomes might randomly win a Super Bowl with a decade from now. With Mahomes, Burrow, and likely Lamar Jackson out of the picture, we ask the uncomfortable question: is this finally Josh Allen's year? Somewhere in the middle of all that, Phillip Rivers comes out of retirement, looks terrible throwing the football, still scores a touchdown, and somehow drags us into a full Hall of Fame debate, complete with conspiracy theories, Colin Kaepernick questions, and a Sip/Chug/Drainpour breakdown of why Rivers actually came back (insurance money, resume padding, or escaping his kids). We also get into the Bills releasing Blizzard Brew, a beer literally made from snow at Highmark Stadium, LaKeith Stanfield being cast as Dennis Rodman in a Vegas disappearance movie, and a minor league hockey team fully committing to chaos with a “Birds Aren't Real” rebrand. There are…a lot of CFB26 clips. Too many, honestly. Chapters: 00:00:00 Introduction | Mookie messes with background since Mike's out 00:04:05 Beer Intros 00:10:01 Is Joe Burrow going to retire?
