How much are you engaging with AI? An article in Rolling Stone Magazine highlighted some hidden truths. Some people are finding that AI gives them more validation than their partner. Humans are humans - not perfect but real. The only path to true fulfillment is authentic self-expression. Consuming rather than creating, and seeking perfect validation instead of real connection turns life into one long chase. #stayhumankimberlykingsley.com@highvibrationallife
May 10th, 2025 shall go down as one of the great days when INXS: Access all Areas was able to meet patrons, listeners and passionate INXS fans from around the globe as we hosted them on our Sydney bus tour and evening gala function. Celebrating our 5th birthday, Bee and I were truly humbled by the level of support, participation and love for what was a little idea in late 2019 that materialized into a fully blown concept in May 2020. So for those unable to attend, Bee and myself aim to bring the essence, events and vibe of the entire day to you through this episode. With audio acknowledgements from Ollie Olsen's Manager Bruce Butler, Sean Dickson (Soup Dragons) amongst many, we are truly humbled. With special guests Richard Simpkin ( Michael in Pictures) and the greatest INXS cover band, Don't Change; guests were astonished and blown away by INXS' very own Kirk Pengilly who turned up and stayed till the very end mingling and embracing the night. Shout out to all those who traveled so far to join us and thankyou to all the raffle, auction and prize winners with fantastic merchandise and INXS treasures going home with the lucky bidders. So as we continue to push the band's cause to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, we were excited to have the event acknowledged in the latest edition of Rolling Stone Magazine some few days later and believe with your support and patronage, we can lobby for true musical justice and attend as a collective the 2026 Induction ceremony knowing we did our bit. Send us some LOVE!Grief is a journey that no parent ever wishes to take, yet it is one that our guest, Larry, navigates with profound insight and courage. As a former Rolling Stone Magazine editor, Larry found solace in writing after the tragic loss of his son, Rob, to suicide. This episode offers a heartfelt exploration of how grief can transform parents, endowing them with extraordinary resilience and strength. Larry shares his journey of becoming "extraordinary" and how his book, "The Space in the Heart: A Survival Guide for Grieving Parents," came to life as a vital part of his healing process. We unpack the emotional layers of grief, drawing on the metaphor of metamorphosis to describe the personal transformation that occurs. Larry also delves into the curious absence of a term for parents who have lost a child. We discuss the controversial notion of labeling grief as a mental health disorder and emphasize recognizing grief as a natural process while acknowledging the importance of support for those who might need it.Contact:www.asiliveandgrieve.cominfo@asiliveandgrieve.comFacebook: As I Live and GrieveInstagram: @asiliveandgrieveYouTube: asiliveandgrieveTikTok: @asiliveandgrieveTo Reach Larry:Email: Website: Credits: Music by Kevin MacLeod Support the showCopyright 2020, by As I Live and GrieveThe views expressed by guests are their own and their appearance on the program does not imply an endorsement of them or any entity they represent.

New York's Greenwich Village is a compact sanctuary that has attracted a legion of visionaries and non-conformists who had an outsized influence on 20th-century culture – on alternative lifestyles, progressive politics, and the arts, especially music. Within the maze of coffeehouses, nightclubs, and watering holes on its narrow streets, the legends-to-be of folk, jazz, and rock coalesced into tight-knit communities that birthed sound innovations that continue to resonate today. Now veteran music journalist David Browne has expertly chronicled this community's sprawling history and impact in a new book, Talkin' Greenwich Village: The Heady Rise and Slow Fall of America's Bohemian Capital (Hachette Books).Browne is well-equipped to take on this task and to discuss all the ins and outs in this latest episode of Reading Is Funktamental. Presently a senior writer at Rolling Stone Magazine, he is the author of acclaimed biographies of musicians including Sonic Youth, Tim and Jeff Buckley, the Grateful Dead, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.Based on 150 interviews with notables like Judy Collins, John Sebastian, Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock, Suzanne Vega, and Terre and Suzzy Roche, Talkin' Greenwich Village lends this saga the epic scope it has long deserved. You can read my extensive review of the book for the culture site PopMatters at this link: https://www.popmatters.com/greenwich-village-david-browne-feature"Reading is Funktamental" is a monthly one-hour show about great books written about music and music-makers. Top 5 all time, Slackers!Ever wonder why we have always been "list" oriented - or maybe that's just me? "Top 5" this or "Top 10" that - from Casey Kasem's American Top 40, MTV's Top 20 Countdown, later TRL, to Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 500 series, lists have been a regular part of our lives. With the advent of the internet, many of us were the early adopters of "listicles" on web forums where we chimed in on "Top 5 Tag Teams" or "Top 5 Video Games". Fast forward 20+ years and the list format drives everything from Netflix & Spotify algorithms, to targeted ads. In fact, lists likely drive commerce! For many of us, lists are what drives debates, and as long as people keep it civil, this has always been our way of communicating. Back in the day it could be debates on "best running backs", or "best metal guitarist". It's all subjective but that's what makes it fun. There's also some talk about the Big Game, Boston sports, and the many opinions on the Half TIme show.

It's a new year, a new decade, and a new leg of the Paul McCartney world tour to ring in 1990! From Birmingham to Wembley, Detroit to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati to Indianapolis, Paul and the band continued their ultra-successful concert experience - wowing audiences and charming critics along the way. In fact, some critics known for their harsh takes on Macca in the past - namely Rolling Stone Magazine - were themselves caught up in the mania, with cover features aplenty praising Paul's passion for live performance and cheering the strength of the Flowers in the Dirt LP. With February fast approaching, a fourth leg stood poised to continue the stadium domination even further... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

RJ Cutler (“The War Room”, “The September Issue”, “Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry”) joins Mike and Ken once again to talk about his latest documentary, “Elton John: Never Too Late.” As RJ tells us, the film “ Tells the story of two monumental decisions in the life of Elton John. The first, a decision he makes [to come out] in an interview in 1976 to Rolling Stone Magazine. And the second, a decision he makes in the middle of his seventies to give up touring In order to spend more time with his family and his young sons.” The result is a film filled with denial, drug dependency, and despondence, but ultimately also music, joy, and love as well. “Elton John: Never Too Late” begins streaming on Disney+ on December 13th.
