The Season 1 finale of The Dukes of Hazzard may be one of the most important episodes in the entire series. "Double Sting" takes everything that made those first 12 episodes special and blends it into the formula that would define the show for years to come. You've got out-of-town crooks, a clever scheme, Rosco and Boss caught in the middle of the chaos, Daisy stepping up to save the day, and of course plenty of General Lee action. Looking back, this episode feels like the blueprint for what The Dukes of Hazzard would become. The story centers around a fake quarantine that traps nearly everyone inside the Hazard County jail while a pair of bank robbers disguised as Laurel and Hardy pull off their heist. That leaves Daisy and Cooter carrying much of the action outside the jailhouse, leading to some genuinely fun and memorable moments. Along the way, we get rare nighttime footage of the General Lee with its headlights on, plenty of comedy from the guest stars, and one of the most recognizable stunts of the entire series. Most importantly, this episode features what may be the greatest General Lee jump of Season 1—and one that even non-Dukes fans have to admit is impressive. From the action to the humor to the unforgettable stunt work, "Double Sting" closes out the first season in style. Join us as we break down the episode, uncover behind-the-scenes details, and revisit a true Dukes of Hazzard classic. It's June, which means it's time to get into the 2025 JMU football schedule — and we're doing it with a twist. Inspired by the Ringer Fantasy Football Podcast's schedule draft format, Jack and Bennett each draft games off the Dukes' schedule across five categories: - Home Game You'd Most Want to Attend - Home Game Worth Skipping - Road Game Worth Attending - Must-Watch TV Game - Pumpkin Picking Day (the game you skip altogether to build relationship goodwill before championship season) From the Troy rematch under the lights to a 10 PM kick at San Diego State on the CW, we break down every game worth circling on your calendar — and a few you should hand off entirely. Plus: a deep dive into the state of the Sun Belt Conference, why the league's national profile has slipped since JMU joined, what it would take for the Dukes to crack the College Football Playoff conversation, and whether the Sun Belt can still compete for G5 supremacy against a rising American Athletic Conference. In this episode of The Dukes of Hazzard, Boss Hogg cooks up one of his most ambitious scams yet when he's tasked with turning over a million dollars in worn-out currency to be destroyed and replaced with fresh cash. Rather than follow the rules, Boss devises a plan to keep the money, collect the replacement funds, and cash in on an insurance claim at the same time. To pull it off, he recruits his second cousin twice removed, Cletus Hogg, making this the memorable first appearance of the lovable deputy-to-be who would become a longtime fan favorite. Rob Kibbe, Corndog, and Bernie McPartland revisit this classic Season 1 episode and break down Boss Hogg's elaborate fraud scheme, the introduction of Rick Hurst as Cletus Hogg, and the impressive General Lee action that fills the episode from start to finish. The guys also discuss the unique charm of the early California-filmed episodes, including the rough-and-tumble stunt work, real driving footage, and the debut of Daisy Duke's updated Road Runner that would become a familiar sight throughout the series. Filled with crooked politics, million-dollar schemes, moonshine mix-ups, and plenty of Hazzard County chaos, "Money to Burn" captures everything that made the first season of The Dukes of Hazzard special. It's an important milestone episode for longtime fans, not only because of Cletus Hogg's debut, but also because it showcases the grounded action, memorable characters, and lighthearted storytelling that helped turn the series into a television classic. It's officially showcase season! As tradition dictates, Rand Al Thor 19 of Xbox Two joins the Dukes for a smorgasbord of predictions! This year, we approach things a touch differently. Yes, we get into every (!) first party studio under the Xbox folder as per usual. However, 2026 marks the first Asha Sharma led summer showcase. With many business decisions up in the air ranging from exclusivity to hardware, this feels like a great time for Xbox's new lead to truly put her mark on the brand. With the "This is an Xbox" slogan out the window, will Xbox dare to don the logos of other platforms on their own stage? What of Project Helix? Much of Asha's rallying cry has been around "Return to XBOX." So, is it too early to show what Helix is truly made of during the 25th anniversary year of the brand? Will the shortage on consumer electronics plague what could be a massive announcement for the brand? Indeed, this showcase is a central point for a lot of business decisions that Asha could make in front of a crowd. Given this is her first showcase, the trio discusses what her "Hail Mary" moment can be. Is it time for a new Elder Scrolls VI trailer? Hi Fi Rush 2? Persona 6 or Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3? A sequel to Fallout: New Vegas? There are many avenues for Xbox's new lead to take! Join us as we debate the appearance of over 30 first party studios, dig into third party partnerships, and stew over what could be a monumental showcase for the brand! Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement. 0:00:00 - Intro0:11:18 - Exclusivity0:43:01 - Hardware1:06:13 - Activision1:17:28 - Arkane1:25:33 - Bethesda Game Studios1:35:38 - Coalition1:41:07 - Compulsion1:42:44 - Double Fine1:45:13 - Halo Studios1:59:38 - iD Software2:03:45 - InXile2:18:42 - MachineGames2:27:09 - Mojang2:29:05 - Ninja Theory2:32:13 - Obsidian Entertainment2:38:00 - Playground2:48:14 - Rare2:53:22 - Turn 102:54:11 - Undead Labs2:59:27 - World's Edge3:02:08 - Xbox Game Studios Publishing Learn more about your ad choices. Scot and Jeff discuss the second part of XTC's career (1984-2000) with Andrew Gretes. Introducing the Band: Your hosts Scot Bertram (@ScotBertram) and Jeff Blehar (@EsotericCD) with guest Andrew Gretes. Andrew is a fiction writer teaching creative rhetoric at Georgetown and George Washington University. You can find his work at andrewgretes.com. Andrew's Music Pick: XTC, Pt. 2 Awaken you dreamers! A month after we took you through the first part of XTC's career – an Argonaut-like journey across the world of postpunk and pop during the end of the Seventies and the start of the Eighties – we return to pick up the story where we left off in 1984: with a psychologically landlocked band (songwriters Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding as well as guitarist Dave Gregory), now forever off the road and consigned to a studio, forced to make the most of their remaining careers without fears of an audience to either drag them down or lift them up. And aside from the Beatles, it is little exaggeration to say that no studio-bound act ever made quite as much out of such a fate as XTC – though they didn't make much money, naturally. Instead they made great art, with a series of increasingly ambitious pop albums (including 1986's Skylarking, which you might even have heard of) that reflected the expanding musical palates and melodic ambitions of Partridge and Moulding. The first episode of this two-part series proudly featured some of the weirdest, most clashingly irregular sounds of the Seventies. This second features some of the most awe-striking beauty you've probably never heard. From their mainstream career (which rarely if ever sold) to their moonlight lark as the Dukes of Stratosphear (which sold gangbusters until people realized they were buying XTC music) Partridge, Moulding and Gregory never quit stuffing every single song they recorded with meaning and melody, and the results are an overwhelming trove of musical riches to discover – one you might only be vaguely aware even exists Political Beats has been building up to its XTC episodes ever since the day the podcast was founded. The second part of their story is every bit as impressive – and different – as the first. Settle in and listen to us sing a happy-sad ballad about the greatest band in popular music to never quite make it. Oh my, oh my, don't it make you wanna cry? Ramsey Dukes is the current and most well-known pen name of Lionel Snell, a contemporary English magician, publisher, and author on magic and philosophy.Lionel was born to a Kibbo Kift couple as WW2 was ending and lived his childhood in a converted water mill deep in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. From his village school he won a scholarship plus government bursary to attend prep and public school in Bristol, where he discovered a wonderful library of ancient alchemy and magic books that had been bequeathed to the school by EJ Holmyard.A scholarship to Cambridge University enabled him to study Crowley and other occult books in the University library, and he still had time to graduate in pure mathematics. He tried teaching, gardening, aircraft stress analysis, copy writing, technical writing and a few other things before becoming a freelance promotional writer, mostly for hi-tech industries.Meanwhile he had made a name for himself – or rather a number of names – writing and self-publishing books and articles on magic, occult philosophy, and radical worldviews. These included a wicked satirical column for Aquarian Arrow, a UK neo-pantheist magazine in the 1970-80s. He is now best known under the pseudonym Ramsey Dukes, and he has a lively YouTube presence under that name.Dukes' site: https://ramseydukes.co.uk/Aeon Dukes Books: https://health.aeonbooks.co.uk/author/ramsey-dukes/23699---Become part of the Hermitix community:Hermitix Twitter - / hermitixpodcast Hermitix Discord - / discord Support Hermitix:Hermitix Subscription - https://hermitix.net/subscribe/ Patreon - www.patreon.com/hermitix Donations: - https://www.paypal.me/hermitixpodHermitix Merchandise - http://teespring.com/stores/hermitix-2Bitcoin Donation Address: 3LAGEKBXEuE2pgc4oubExGTWtrKPuXDDLKEthereum Donation Address: 0xfd2bbe86d6070004b9Cbf682aB2F25170046A996

Kibbe & Friends Show #366 revisits a classic Dukes of Hazzard episode the gang originally reviewed nearly 10 years ago — Season 1 Episode 10, “Deputy Dukes!” Before heading back to Hazzard County, the crew catches up on Corndog's daughter graduating high school, Rob's busy summer racing schedule with Dallas Kibbe Racing, and a surprising firsthand look at the new electric Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack. Bernie on the Weather debuts a hilarious new WKRP-inspired intro sponsored by Lexani Tires, Lionhart Tires, and Rolling Big Power Tires, while Corndog's Tech Corner helps troubleshoot Mopar ignition problems on a 1972 Dodge Charger. The guys also cover Hot Wheels collecting crazes, Tesla Cybertruck recalls, the upcoming Rockford Files reboot, and GM's confusing LS6 revival before diving into “Deputy Dukes.” In this Season 1 favorite, Bo and Luke temporarily become deputies after Rosco gets suspended, only to find themselves trapped inside another one of Boss Hogg's schemes. The crew breaks down the episode's early-series charm, classic patrol car action, and the chemistry that helped make the Dukes of Hazzard such an iconic show. It appears that Xbox got sick of the whole weekly negative news cycle schtick and has decided to go in the other direction. Is this week's news truly all that positive? I sincerely depends on how you look at it and nobody will actually know until much later. Asha Sharma has made new additions to her leadership team. Sarah Bond's former team has been replaced by alumni of Meta, Instacart, and CoreAI which all happen to be people that worked with Asha at the same time she led those respective companies. Is this the invasion of AI into Xbox as we initially feared? We get into that, but there's almost zero doubt that Xbox anticipated this because they pulled out quite the plot twist. Copilot for console and mobile is stopped, effective immediately. So, while there is more AI focused leadership than ever in Xbox, they also just axed one of the worst things the brand started rolling out last year. How do the Dukes feel about all of this? Well, that's why you're here, no? Pull up a chair, relax, and let's talk about Xbox some more before Brad returns and ruins it all. Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement.0:00:00 - Intro0:09:13 - Health Is Wealth0:16:28 - Halo 2 & 3 reportedly being remade0:38:22 - New Xbox boot up screen for the first time in 6 years0:42:12 - Jez Corden's latest Xbox exclusivity scoop1:10:20 - GameStop is trying to acquire eBay1:17:06 - Steam Machine pre orders soon?1:21:17 - PS4 and XB1 may finally be on the way out1:27:54 - Bank Of America wants higher priced games1:33:03 - NBA: The Run revealed and arrives June 20261:38:00 - Are content creators heavily influencing the conversation?1:56:15 - Marathon has story plans for the next few years1:59:00 - Looking ahead at May 2026 game releases2:27:17 - What We're Playing3:10:04 - Xbox is giving up Copilot and bringing in a new leadership group Learn more about your ad choices.
