Was Yeshua born on Dec 25th? What is the significance of many aspects of the traditional Christmas celebration?
There are events in your life that reflect whether or not you bring honor or shame to Messiah and the Father. In Luke 9:23 we hear Yeshua Messiah lay out the requirements for being a follower of Him. What does it mean to take up your stake daily? How does that bring honor? Have you been called into this walk to be miserable? Do you feel trapped in a cycle of guilt caused from your perception of “not ever getting it right”? You can break out of that cycle through using a gift that has been given you by the Father–what is that gift? “Yahweh is not so concerned with what you did wrong, rather, He wants to see what you do next–do you acknowledge the wrong and repent, or do you act like “oh well, no big deal”? The honorable way is to own the mistake, use the gift of repentance and move forward.” Are there things or people in your life that are toxic to your walk? How do you deal with them honorably? Rabbi Berkson breaks down Matt 19:16-30: Why was eternal life asked about and not “salvation”? Why did Yeshua say “If you wish to be ‘perfect’”? What does ‘perfect’ mean in this interaction? Rabbi Berkson connects a few scripture dots to clarify the meaning of ‘perfect’. Was Yeshua speaking only of this man’s material possessions? Don't miss out on new teachings every week. The same could be true as you build up your spiritual self. After an intense teaching session, you need answers as more thoughts and questions consume you in your spiritual growth. Rabbi Steve Berkson, director of MTOI, provides an opportunity for the Afterburn to take place by additional thoughts and insight about what he just taught as well as answering questions from the local congregation and those watching the live stream. Was Yeshua really a sacrifice? Where in the Scriptures do we find that a human qualifies as a sacrifice. Where does it say that human blood is required to satisfy the wrath of a blood-thirsty God? These are difficult and legitimate questions that are often raised by anti-missionaries and skeptics. How does Christianity answer this? Does Messianic Judaism have an answer? Join Rabbi Damian in this honest look at these questions and more to give us a clear picture of Yeshua as the sacrificial lamb of God.
Was Yeshua on Mount Sinai
After Yeshua taught in the synagogue on the Sabbath, he decided that a man with a paralyzed hand needed to be healed. The Jewish leaders didn't like this and sought to accuse and even kill Yeshua. Did Yeshua break the Sabbath here? Was Yeshua trying to get people to see that the Sabbath wasn't all that important?
Did the Law of God change after the cross? In Matthew 5:17-19, what does the passing of the first Heaven and first Earth have to do with fulfilling all of the Law and Prophets? What relationship do Heaven and Earth have with our receipt of God's law? How does Heaven and Earth relate to all prophecy being fulfilled? Was Yeshua referring to the passing of Heaven and Earth just to sound cool, or was there a purpose? We review all of these questions and more in HEAVEN & EARTH AND THE LAW OF GOD.
Before exegeting the first 11 verses of Luke chapter 5, I decided to teach a lesson about first century discipleship. What did it really mean to be Yeshua's disciple? Was Yeshua a Rabbi? Is it okay to call a man by the title Rabbi? These questions and more are covered in this introductory lesson to Luke 5.
What did Yeshua mean when he said in Matthew 5:34a to swear not at all? Was Yeshua against all oath taking? Should there never be a time when a person should swear by the Almighty?
