Envy can wreck countries, churches, homes, and your life. It is a powerful sin and one that Christian's aren't always very concerned with. If a pastor came in falling down drunk to the worship service, people would be concerned! If a deacon's wife came into church with a string bikini on, Christians would be concerned. If someone grabbed a huge wad of money out of the offering plate and ran out the door, we would be concerned. But sometimes people can scream at others and attack others verbally on a regular basis, even creating factions against others at meetings and we take it in stride? We shouldn't. The Bible warns against it!
Today Pastor Adrian and Matt look at some of the problems that the Modern church faces, but looking at it from the prospective of what's happening in the church and not outside of it. We'll look specifically at 1 Corinthians 3.1-9 and speak on the cult of personalities that Corinth face and what we see in the modern church and even briefly discuss envy's role in that. Tune in to our discussion to find out.
In this episode of Biblia Schola, Adrian and Matt look once again Genesis 6 and this time focus on the identity of the Sons of God and the Daughters of Man, connecting verses 1-4 with the over arching theme of the passage, the increasing violence on the earth before the Great Flood of Noah. Please join us in our discussion concerning this passage
In this episode, Adrian and Matt look at Genesis 6.1-14a and talk about the Flood of Noah. What are the reasons that God is not pleased with his creation? This episode focuses on what scriptures says when it speaks of humanity's corruption of the world and love of violence. The discussion also briefly touches upon Enoch and Noah and their presence during this whole thing. There are some audio issues with this episode and we apologize for that. Hopefully we'll have it worked out for next time.
Adrian and Matt look at what the Bible has to say about divine judgments. We'll primarily look at Leviticus chapter 26. Our discussion will focus not only on this passage, but also how it relates to us in light of current events. **Brief Note** Pastor Adrian in the episode quoted a verse and accidentally gave the reference as John 1.12, its actually John 1.29.
