Join me inside Membership Academy where I'll help you take your membership to the next level. And if you found this episode valuable, I'd be eternally grateful if you would leave an honest review and rating for the show. They're extremely helpful when it comes to reaching our audience, and I read each and every one!Key Quotes & Takeaways:"Retention starts day one, minute one. The second someone joins your membership, the clock is ticking and the first impression is absolutely vital.""So first and foremost, if you don't have an onboarding process in your membership, this is your top priority. So many memberships have horrendous churn and the reason is because they do not have member onboarding.""Truly effective member onboarding goes way beyond just those first 30 days. Ideally, you want to have a strategy in place that is mapped around at least the first 90 days that someone is in your membership.""It's about us thinking, okay, where are the knowledge gaps? What does someone need to understand how to do in terms of functionally using this membership in order to get the best from it."
Jen Davenport joins Psychedelics Today to interview co-founder Joe Moore about the growth of Psychedelics Today, the broader psychedelic ecosystem, and how professionals are beginning to engage with psychedelic ideas. Davenport is the founder of Iron Thread Partners and a graduate of the Vital psychedelic training program. Her work focuses on executive leadership, decision making, and organizational development. In this conversation she asks Moore about the evolution of Psychedelics Today and the changes he has witnessed across the psychedelic field over the past decade. Moore explains that Psychedelics Today began as a podcast exploring psychedelic research, therapy, and culture. Over time the project expanded into a media and education platform covering psychedelic science, harm reduction, and professional training. The organization now produces podcasts, journalism, courses, and public conversations about psychedelics and their place in modern society. A central part of the discussion is psychedelic integration. Moore notes that insight during a psychedelic experience does not automatically lead to lasting change. The integration process often requires continued work through journaling, meditation, therapy, and community support. These practices help people translate insights into stable changes in behavior and perspective. The conversation also explores policy changes in the United States. Colorado's Natural Medicine framework is creating a regulated system for psychedelic services while the state also maintains a broader decriminalization approach. Moore discusses the tension between regulated access and grassroots psychedelic culture, as well as the questions around accessibility, pricing, and corporate participation. Davenport asks how executives and professionals are approaching psychedelics. In some circles psychedelics are framed as tools for creativity or performance. Moore cautions against this framing. Psychedelics often open difficult personal material and should be approached with care rather than treated as productivity tools. Education remains a recurring theme throughout the episode. As public interest grows, Moore stresses the importance of studying the legal landscape, understanding the scientific literature, and developing responsible practices for preparation and integration. The conversation offers a grounded look at how Psychedelics Today approaches the psychedelic resurgence. Rather than focusing on hype, Moore emphasizes education, safety, and thoughtful engagement with psychedelic experiences.

Omega-3 fatty acids (particularly EPA and DHA) have a long history in nutrition and cardiovascular medicine, yet the clinical trial literature is often perceived as inconsistent. This episode examines why some randomized trials show clear benefit while others show null or mixed findings, and how differences in trial design, dose, population risk, and outcome selection can materially change what we observe. A key theme is separating (1) the persistent cultural narratives around omega-3s (including origin stories that do not hold up well to modern evidence) from (2) the more precise, mechanistic and clinical questions about where supplemental EPA/DHA may reduce cardiovascular risk. The discussion focuses heavily on understanding heterogeneity: why "omega-3 supplementation" is not a single, uniform exposure, and why subgroup patterns (e.g., secondary prevention, higher baseline triglycerides, and higher doses) may explain much of the apparent conflict in the evidence. Note: This discussion is taken from a previous episode of the podcast. The audio has been remastered and improved, and now study notes and full transcript are available. Romans 11:18-22 — The history of Christianity has witnessed the decline of many churches. In this sermon on Romans 11:18-22, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones attributes such declines to the drift away from true Christianity's vital principle, justification by faith alone. Dr. Lloyd-Jones urges listeners to learn the lessons from history and guard themselves and their churches against falling back into a system of justification by works. Regarding the churches that hold firm to the principle of justification by faith alone, be prepared to be persecuted by those who don't. This tendency has been borne out in church history as evidenced by the persecution inflicted on the true church by the Jews and the also the apostate church. Please note that in a rare departure from customary practice, the original editor of the MLJ Trust recordings decided to include the tail end of the last hymn prior to the commencement of the sermon. This was presumably in order to make sense of Dr Lloyd-Jones's opening admonition to his congregation as to the quality of their singing on that particular Friday evening at Westminster chapel! Dr. Justin Schrager, Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Vital, aims to address poor communication in acute care settings such as hospitals and urgent care centers. Vital's software platform provides patients with real-time, understandable information on their own devices via a secure website. This AI-powered system is designed to provide updates on lab results and educational content, and to augment clinical care without adding to the workload of doctors and nurses. Justin explains, "We make software for the hospital, urgent care, and inpatient settings. The problem is that communication suffers when you get busier. So the busier you are, the less communication happens. It's a bit of a catch-22. And it's sort of treated as an expendable action when things are really critical. I'm an ER doctor. I understand that. And so we're trying to solve that problem by essentially communicating to patients, keeping them up to date, and helping the clinical staff out when they frankly don't have a lot of time to share a lot of the kinds of information that we're able to show patients." "Access is at such a deficit right now that the vast majority of the healthcare we provide in the hospital and the ER specifically is for patients who are wide awake, thinking clearly, have family members there with them, and they just have an urgency. Sore throat, can't swallow, broken arm, things that aren't necessarily life-threatening or even limb-threatening, but they're urgent, and they need to be dealt with in a timely fashion. And so I think that's really where our software plays best." #Vitalio #HealthcareInnovation #PatientEngagement #AIinHealthcare #DigitalHealth #HealthTech #PatientExperience #HealthcareCommunication #MedicalAI #HospitalTechnology #PatientCare #PatientSafety vital.io Download the transcript here

In this episode of the CPQ Podcast, Sergey Jermakov joins Frank Sohn to explore how CLARITY is moving beyond classic Quote-to-Cash into intelligent revenue operations management—a broader approach that connects CPQ with billing, revenue processes, and monetization models. Sergey explains how his role has shifted from "sales leader" to Revenue Architect, focused on designing scalable solution architectures and packaged delivery. They discuss CLARITY's focus on mid-market to enterprise organizations (now often $50M+ revenue) in high tech and hybrid product + services businesses, plus their expanded delivery footprint across Europe, North America, and Asia. A major theme is AI: not as magic, but as an accelerator. Sergey shares where AI adoption is strongest today (especially sales and marketing) and how AI can help with document-heavy work and data-driven pricing support—while also exposing weaknesses in process and data readiness. They also dig into why CPQ projects fail—reactive architecture, over-customization, and unclear ownership—and why CLARITY increasingly favors implementation packages over open-ended custom projects to drive faster time-to-value and more controlled releases. Finally, Sergey outlines why many SAP customers are moving from Quote 1.0 to SAP Quote 2.0, with performance and scalability as major drivers. Topics: CPQ, AI in CPQ, revenue operations, SAP Quote 2.0, CPQ implementation best practices, solution architecture, packaged delivery, hybrid selling.

Statistics show that half of us will experience a mental health condition of some kind by the time we turn forty. Could this be due to the increasing pressures and looming crises we're currently facing in the modern world, overstimulating natural responses in our brains and bodies that have evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to protect us from threats? In this episode, we're joined by Dr Joanna Cheek, a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and clinical professor based at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine, to talk about her latest book, It's Not You, It's the World – A Mental Health Survival Guide for Us All. She tells us how the system of alarm signals in our brains is being increasingly triggered by the rapidly changing circumstances we find ourselves in, how this is hijacking the push and pull of our natural risk/reward systems, and why connecting more deeply with the rich tapestry of the people and cultures we share the world with can help us all bring our lives back into balance. Bud Weinstein argues that coal remains a vital base load power source for the US grid, noting that while coal's share has dropped to 15-20%, these plants are critical because they operate 24/7, meeting high electricity demands that renewables cannot always satisfy.

Science of Spirituality PodcastFIVE PRIMARY POINTS of the PODCAST1. Why We Choke Under PressureChoking occurs when extreme stakes overload the brain's motor system. Research shows:* Large “jackpot” rewards (e.g., Olympic gold) can push neural activity past the optimal preparation zone.* Explicit monitoring (thinking step-by-step about an automated skill) disrupts fluid performance.* Moderate pressure improves performance, but excessive pressure impairs it.* Choking is often linked more to inadequate preparation than lack of talent.2. Three Science-Based Ways to Reduce Choking* Train under pressure (e.g., videotaped practice) to desensitize anxiety.* Shift attention outward if you're an expert (focus on rhythm, target, counting backward) to let automatic systems run.* Novices should instead focus on one simple cue, not the entire process.* Reframe the stakes — focus on process over outcome to prevent mental overload.3. Olympic Gold Medal Lessons: Team Chemistry & Inner WisdomTwo Olympic examples illustrate vitality principles:* U.S. Hockey Team: Built intentionally for chemistry and grit (“F-150 pickup trucks,” not Ferraris). Cohesion > raw star power.* Alysa Liu (Figure Skating): Won gold after burnout by reclaiming autonomy, joy, and intrinsic motivation. She ignored medal pressure and focused on artistry.Lesson:* Teams win through cohesion and resilience.* Individuals win when they align performance with authentic purpose and joy.4. The Vitality Zones & the 60-Day Vital SprintDr. Mishra introduces four zones:* Vitality Zone (energized, purposeful)* Surviving Zone (functional but unfulfilled)* Sliding Zone (declining habits)* Burnout Zone (exhausted, depleted)The 60-day sprint focuses on improving:* Physical vitality (exercise, sleep regularity, proprioception, inflammation control)* Mental vitality (focus training, limiting mind wandering)* Social vitality (cultivating closeness)* Spiritual vitality (serving something larger than oneself)5. Core Vitality Levers Backed by DataKey evidence-based takeaways:* 15–20 minutes of daily exercise reduces mortality and inflammation.* Sleep regularity may matter more than duration.* hsCRP (inflammation marker) may predict heart disease better than cholesterol.* Two to three cups of caffeinated coffee or tea daily are linked to lower dementia risk.* A wandering mind reduces happiness; focused attention increases well-being.* Purpose and closeness are modifiable assets strongly tied to longevity.* Spirituality (belief in something larger than self) supports mental health.Elite execution requires preparation, calibrated pressure, authentic motivation, and alignment across physical, mental, social, and spiritual domains.Dare to Be Vital.
