**Podcast is on a break due to unforeseen circumstances** A podcast about embracing the body you have, hosted by Bey Ewington and Morgan Adams. We talk about how to accept the body you have, let go of societal expectations to change the way you look, and to just be who you were born to be from the inside out! You’ll hear about how we embrace body neutrality, reject diet-culture, and learn how you can too!
Similar (but different) to the thanksgiving episode, we touch on how you can practice not just body acceptance but acceptance in general- body, mind and spirit. In this episode, we talk about how you can finally “do” the holidays YOUR WAY and let go of the guilt surrounding other people's expectations, as you listen to your intuition and stay grounded this season. --- If you or someone you love is struggling with an ED you can get help: – Canada - National ED Information Centre Call: 1-866-633-4220 Email: nedic@uhn.ca – USA - National ED Association Text or Call: 1-800-931-2237 --- Intro & outro music by AudioCoffee from Pixabay --- Resources: – Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole & Elyse Resch – Health at Every Size by Lindo Bacon --- Find us on social @bodyacceptancebabes on Instagram & TikTok --- Join us on Patreon for extra content, virtual hangouts & more! https://patreon.com/bodyacceptancebabes --- Join our Facebook discussion group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/802598577720232/?ref=share
This episode will focus on negative self-talk, from a diet and non-diet perspective, and what to do if we catch ourselves engaging in it. Through our own personal stories and tools that we have learned, we will discuss how to shift that negative voice into a voice that is more loving and positive, helping us better ourselves and our lives. --- If you or someone you love is struggling with an ED you can get help: – Canada - National ED Information Centre Call: 1-866-633-4220 Email: nedic@uhn.ca – USA - National ED Association Text or Call: 1-800-931-2237 --- Intro & outro music by AudioCoffee from Pixabay --- Resources: – Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole & Elyse Resch – Health at Every Size by Lindo Bacon --- Find us on social @bodyacceptancebabes on Instagram & TikTok --- Join us on Patreon for extra content, virtual hangouts & more! https://patreon.com/bodyacceptancebabes
In this episode we discuss the ways we tend to suppress certain unconventional things about ourselves (because society doesn't allow them) and then move into accepting these unique traits, embracing them and loving ourselves for them. We talk about a few general examples that include gender stereotypes and societal expectations around them, and also dive into our personal examples and experiences. In this episode we hit home that no matter who we are or what we are into, it's all a part of what makes us us and it's all amazing!
In this episode we discuss the diet voice. This is something we all have and we all have to live our lives trying to navigate with it. It's also related to your intuition. We discuss all this and answer all of your burning questions. Where does it come from? How does it affect you? How can it affect your decisions? With food? With clothing? With life? How can you quiet it? How can you make good choices when you still have a loud diet voice? How can you navigate body acceptance while trying to gain body acceptance? All these are answered, plus all the fun-loving banter that comes along with a Body Acceptance Babes podcast.
In this episode we focus on intuition, including its definition and how we can use it when it comes to food and letting go of the diet voice. We will also examine how you can more easily tell the difference between your intuition and diet voice and will offer suggestions on how to practice using your intuition with respect to things like eating, picking an outfit, being in photos, etc. We will also look at the role intuition plays with body acceptance, body dysmorphia and how listening to your intuition can improve your mindset and your overall life. In this episode we discuss body dysmorphia. We get into the definition, give examples of what this could look like in your life and talk about how this condition can affect your life when shopping, getting dressed, making food choices, etc. We also get into topics such as the media and social media affecting our views of our own bodies, and how we can make small changes in our lives to improve that view of ourselves. Finally, we then share our tips on how we have overcome situations of body dysmorphia in our own lives that you can apply for yourself when you're in that headspace. Definition: Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), or body dysmorphia, is a mental health condition where a person spends a lot of time worrying about flaws in their appearance. These flaws are often unnoticeable to others. People of any age can have BDD, but it's most common in teenagers and young adults. It affects both men and women. In this episode we talk about how food was handled in childhood and how it affects our relationship with food today. We bring back the character of Aunt Marge as our bad guy scapegoat who puts all the societal pressures on us to eat more, eat less, label food as good and bad, and finish everything on our plates because food is expensive and we shouldn't be wasteful. We discuss how to navigate this and give you tips & tricks that you can implement in your life immediately to help change the narrative in your mind and release you from the conditioning you possibly also received in childhood.

In this episode we talk about diet culture. We define what it means in the world as well as what it means to us as a podcast. We then dive into how to navigate diet culture with family and friends, how to change the conversation, we share what you can do to change your world from a social media, film & TV perspective so you can open your mind to a new way of being and unsubscribe to societal pressures. Finally we touch upon how diet culture is viewed in the medical community and how you can advocate for yourself at the doctors office. Definition: Diet culture is the pervasive belief that appearance and body shape are more important than physical, psychological, and general well-being.
