Jamie and Cian are back to catch up on what they've both been up to in the last year.
Jamie and Cian reunite after a long hiatus to discuss Netflix's brutal post-apocalyptic thriller/drama series.
Co-directors of the short film, The Cold, Jay Sutherland and Anthony (AJ) Davies, discuss filmmaking on a micro-budget. Anthony and Jay recount the details of that process; the challenges they faced and how they overcame them; from filming in a foreign country, to the meticulous and often laborious visual effects and editing process, on an ever-changing, constantly tight, budget. In spite of all of the challenges and difficulties, the end-product was a film which was accepted at numerous international film-festivals, received a High Commendation, and has acted as a stepping-stone for some interesting projects. Hopefully this podcast will be interesting to young and experienced film-makers alike; those who might stand to learn something, and those who simply enjoy listening to filmmakers regale tales of an unusual film-making process. The Cold was co-directed by AJ Davies and Jay Sutherland, written by the Bram Stoker award-winning novelist, Kealan Patrick Burke, and starred Kacey Clarke (of Resident Evil: Afterlife and The Inbetweeners) alongside Jay. "Actions speak louder than words". That's what our guest, Zuby, believes. In ThinkBait we dive into thought-provoking subjects, with guests who give us something to ponder.Zuby is a rapper, author of the fitness book, ‘Strong Advice’, and has risen to prominence online thanks to his unique perspectives on subjects some might find contentious. For example, you may already be aware of him after his infamous deadlifting video went viral, in which he claimed to identify as a woman, but only for the duration of the five-second lift.During this conversation, we ended up talking about more philosophical issues: the difference between good faith and bad faith discourse, miscomprehension or misinterpretation, the value of money - or people’s misplacement in its importance, and religion.I could have spoken to him for hours, which would have given us the opportunity to challenge each other’s ideas more… but with a limited amount of time, it felt right just to let Zuby air his thoughts and muse aloud. Zuby was extremely generous with his time, and I really appreciate the opportunity to pick his brain – I really hope you enjoy it, too. - JamieLearn more about Zuby: Zuby's YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/BadMan31311Zuby's Podcast, RealTalk: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/real-talk-with-zuby/id1449384242Zuby's twitter: @ZubyMusicZuby's book, 'Strong Advice': https://teamzuby.com/products/strong-advice-zubys-guide-to-fitness-for-everybodyMusic for intro and outro: Awake, by Scott Holmes - scottholmesmusic.comCasual Corns on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4L_ywzkys0AWjiKe-fPPIACasual Corns ThinkBait on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0jaHL0HzOSqVqUZWUZgnBACasual Corns on Twitter: @casualcorns
