Nachdem „The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf“ viele positiv überraschte, sind auch wir vom Tele-Stammtisch gespannt auf „Sirens of the Deep“. Unsere tapferen Recken Johannes und Lasse haben sich den neuen Film, der seit dem 11. Februar 2025 exklusiv bei Netflix verfügbar ist, angesehen und diskutieren im Podcast ausführlich, ob sich dieser Witcher-Trickfilm lohnt. Viel Spaß mit der neuen Folge vom Tele-Stammtisch! Merry Christmas, you old building and loan!
Look, we're not sure how it happened either, but somehow we made to 100 episodes. That's 100 episodes of bourbon, bards, Brotherhoods, Blood Origins, bloopers, barrel-proofs, bone caves, broken bottles, bad subtitles, and beastly shots of bitter booze. Oh yes, and absolutely wonderful conversations about our favorite fantasy franchise with all of you. To commemorate this malted milestone, we crack open a bottle of a surprisingly delicious Polish rye whiskey—The Globe—while celebrating all that we love about The Witcher. From our most beloved characters, to the Netflix episodes we can't stop replaying in our heads, to the Witcher 3 quests that thrill us more than any other, to the Andrzej Sapkowski short stories that we come back to again and again, this is a liquored up love letter to Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri and the rest of the Continent. We hope you enjoy it and thank each and every one of you for joining us on this wild ride. Here's to the next hundred!
This week, we're taking a break from all the fandom talk to sip some of the finest Witcher tea—literally and figuratively! In this new side quest, we sample three different Witcher-themed teas from Geek Grind Coffee, offering our opinions on each of them while considering if they actually reflect the character they were inspired by. (A Yennefer tea with no lilac or gooseberries? What is this craziness?!?) We also wade into some of the juiciest Witcher gossip to hit over the past few years, offering our sassiest thoughts on all of it. Beau DeMayo! Toxic fans! Possible reasons why Henry Cavill is no longer on the show! (It strayed too much from the source material? Give us a break!) All this, plus another review shot, Tim reveals his least favorite social media platform and Valerie forgets how to drink.

You can be a fan of art. But is there an art to being a fan? There certainly is when we're talking about our friend Maja, who over the past few years has become one of the most talented, distinct and sought after Witcher fan artists working today. Maja's clever illustrations of characters like Yennefer, Jaskier and Geralt (to say nothing of our podcast art, which she designed) all boast a sophisticated sense of style and influence that would seem to extend well beyond her young age, and which we discuss thoroughly with her as Maja joins us on our latest episode. Plus, she shares some savage thoughts on The Witcher's costumes, explains why she's so fond of Yenskier and yes, answers our drunken questions in what's one of our liveliest fandom discussions yet! Who says it has to be Halloween to celebrate witches? It's 2024 and frankly, we could do with a few more powerful, spell-casting women around here. We're talking about our favorite witch romances, many of which (see what we did there) have nothing at all to do with spooky season! There are rumors of a new Practical Magic in the air, which (ope!) makes us extremely happy, and we're just trying to decide which (!!!) of these fabulous books to reread this week. We're going deep into romance history to talk about why witches are so compelling, why they're perfect for a light, frothy romance, and why magic in the hands of men doesn't hit the same way.We are the weirdos, Mister. If you wish you had six more days in a week of people talking about romance, may we suggest joining our Patreon? Aside from an additional episode every month you get access to our Discord, where 1000 other romance readers are talking about books they love (and many other things!) all the time. It's so fun! Learn more about the Patreon and go join those cool people who love romance as much as we do at patreon.com/fatedmates.Show NotesIf you liked the post-it note situation in The Fall Guy, or the low-tech pre-post it note version from Romancing the Stone, Aqua Notes may be for you. Or travel across Lake Michigan on the SS Badger ferry. (But you cannot drive across Texas in one day). The entry point for witches tends to the fun, silly ones: Bewitched and Hocus Pocus, but also because it's the realm of women, we love movies like Practical Magic, The Witches of Eastwick, and The Craft. Willow's arc on Buffy the Vampire Slayer goes from rom-com witch to strong witch to evil witch. Geralt is living with his on-again (but mostly) off-again true love, Yennefer. Things are perfect though, because Yennefer doesn't like to be pinned down and Geralt might be an emotionless mutant. Her Rogue, her Jubilee; stand out X-Men cosplays. Ciri, Yennefer perfectly embodying the ladies of The Witcher. Possibly known most prominently for her Batgirl iterations; her Supergirl, Catwoman, & many other displays of cosplay shout that she is easily more than just Batgirl. @Paper.Moon.Cosplay joins me this week as we discuss what it takes to put together her cosplays, as most of what you see, she does all herself — from scratch. In an episode full of laughs, translation confusion, & appreciation, learn more about Taïr; who she wants in the MCU's X-Men, who wins in a Catwoman v Black Cat battle, her DragonCon line-up, and believe me...so much more. This, and a "super" Cosplay Of The Week, all on 148th Episode! ▾ Cosplay Of The Week!: ▾ http://instagram.com/M.LaVey369 _____________ ►

Yennefer reconnects with Tissaia. Geralt reacquaints himself with a friend. Jaskier reconciles with Vespula! There are reunions a-plenty in season three's third episode, so it's only fitting that our whiskey pairing is one as well. We first discovered Milam & Greene back in our second season, but this time, we're sampling their Port Cask Finished Rye, a sweeter-than-expected spirit that still has plenty of spice. And what do you know, the same can be said about this episode, which touches on parental sacrifice and love, but still manages to feature season three's steamiest sex scene (you go, Philippa!) and likely would have had at least one more if Geralt wasn't such a buzzkill. (Boo!)

***SPOILERS for THE WITCHER Season 3 Volume 1*** "When a humble bard, graced a ride along, with Geralt of Rivia, along came this song"…Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, and Jaskier are back!!! Season 3 Part 1 of The Witcher debuted on Netflix on June 29 with the first 5 episodes of the season. Volume 2 arrives in a few short weeks on July 27. This season is what we know is Henry Cavills' last ‘wild hunt' as the White Wolf before Liam Hemsworth will don the signature hair and yellow eyes of Geralt. While it won't be the same without Cavill we look forward to the remainder of this season and reflect on the adventure thus far! So grab a pint of ale or some wine and do as Jaskier would do - “toss a coin to your Witcher!” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jafnpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jafnpodcast/support
Da Binge Bois toss a coin to the penultimate collection of episodes involving Henry Cavil as the titular Witcher, Geralt. We join as a collective to pour a 40 out for him and ponder what exactly they are attempting to do this season as all the characters feel like they are different than previously acted. In September 2021, Netflix renewed the series for a third season, which will also consist of eight episodes, to be released in two volumes on June 29 and July 27, 2023.
