David Gresham Records Podcast

This controversial interview was conducted by legendary Springbok Radio DJ David Gresham in June 1969 with Beatles Icon John Lennon. The reason for this interview taking place was that sometime earlier on John Lennon had made an alleged remark something to the effect of "The Beatles are bigger than Christ". Due to this alleged statement, South African Broadcasting Corporation (owner of all broadcasting at the time, including the country's national commercial radio station Springbok Radio) banned all forms of music by the Beatles outright. Sloani is a Joburg based singer/producer. He has produced for pop artists Armand Joubert, Connell Cruise, Zinah and Hanco, to name a few. Sloani's production style is often noticeable not through genre, but the blend of electronic and organic elements. With a background in classical piano and passion for sound design, Sloani's sound can be described as texture-centric with romantic undertones. Sloani began his singing career with his 2019 cover of Take on Me. Sloani cites influences such as The Neighbourhood, Finneas and Son Lux. ‘Keep In Touch' is the first studio single by Joburg based artist Sloani of 2022. He returns to his pop roots after his lofi EP “Can you see the cat”. The song is an ode to everything we say and feel when distance is introduced to a relationship. In 2018 Sloani moved from Cape Town to Joburg to pursue a full-time career in music. This left him having to abandon a lifetime of close relationships and friendships. The Durban born singer, presenter and songwriter Zinah began her musical journey at a young age after her grandmother gifted her a Barbie microphone set. She has been making music ever since and made her debut on the big stage as part of the ABBA tribute show in 2015 followed by a tour of Europe with the Whitney Houston tribute show in 2016. In 2021 Zinah caught the attention of David Gresham Records and signed her first record & publishing deal a few weeks later. Zinah released her debut single on David Gresham Records titled ‘Good', which would go on to reach the summit of the Jacaranda FM charts. At the end of 2021 Zinah released her hit single ‘Feeling Fine' which has received airplay in major markets in North America. Today, Zinah is back with a brand-new single release titled “Winner”. “Winner is a statement. It's manifesting wins in your life and affirming who you are.
