In this episode, Esther Bertram shares her new "Harmonics" theory and why you can't lie to an empath. She developed this theory through years experience as an empath and her background in music. In this episode, Esther explores the topic of projection. Specifically, as an empath how do you cope with the suffering of loved ones who, because they have your unconditional love, use you as the whipping post for their pain? Projection is something that we all do to some degree. It's a defence mechanism that allows us to disown our own undesirable qualities by attributing them to others. For example, if you're feeling insecure, you might project that onto someone else by accusing them of being arrogant. Projection can be a problem for empaths because we tend to be highly attuned to the emotions of others. This means that we're often the recipients of other people's projections. And it can be difficult to deal with, because it can feel like we're being attacked for something that we're not even responsible for. So how do you cope with projection as an empath? Projection is a defence mechanism that we all use to some degree. But as empaths, we're often on the receiving end of other people's projections. By becoming aware of projection, and learning how to respond in a way that shows empathy and understanding, we can often diffuse the situation and help the other person to see their own projection. Listen to this episode to get some tips how to hold up such a mirror and no longer be a whipping post. In this episode of Empath Unplugged, Esther Bertram discusses how creative expression can be used to unload emotions. As empaths, we are constantly taking on the emotions of others, and it can be overwhelming. However, by using creative expression to unload these emotions, we can better take care of ourselves. There are many ways to be creative, and what works for one person may not work for another. Some people find that painting, drawing, or writing can be helpful, while others may prefer to express themselves through music or dance. The important thing is to find an outlet that allows you to connect with your own emotions and release them in a healthy way. Esther shares some tips on how to use creative expression to unload emotions, and how this can help us to feel better and be more productive. If you're an empath, chances are you're always looking for ways to improve your holistic wellbeing. And what better way to do that than by learning about Esther Bertram's 5 Finger Theory? As empaths, we often strive to feel great in every department so that we can wake up each morning excited and energised, ready to take on the world with the energy of a 5 year old. All too often empaths are swayed around by the ocean of (others) emotion and serving other peoples agendas. Using Esther's 5 finger theory, we can calibrate ourselves to optimise our own wellbeing so that we can have an even bigger positive impact for ourselves, our loved ones, and the world.
As empathic people, we tend to be very giving and open with our emotions. We want to feel safe and nurtured, and sometimes we open up to people before we really know them. This can be a great thing, but it can also lead to us getting hurt. It's important to set boundaries as an empath. We need to make sure that we're in relationships that are beneficial to us and that allow us to thrive. We don't want to end up in another tanglation - which can take years to detangle from. So, when is it safe to open up to someone? In this podcast episode Esther explores how statistically, there is rarely a fully safe time to open up, because even if our partner doesn't break our heart, we might break theirs. However, the pursuit of love and having mutually beneficial relationships that produce and outcome greater than the sum of its parts is a worthy endeavour and there are many strong relationships out there so we know great love is possible and often worth the risk. But to mitigate some of the risks, Esther shares a few safety mechanisms you can utilise for embarking on such a quest, especially if you are an empath who is prone to over-giving.
As an empath, it's important to learn how to set boundaries and detach from toxic relationships. This podcast episode, Esther will share strategies why and how to do just that. You'll learn how to identify when a relationship is no longer serving your highest good and how to let go of people who don't support your growth. By doing this, you'll be able to protect yourself and be more effective in helping others. If you're like most people, you probably think of empaths as people who are highly sensitive to the emotions of others. And while that's certainly true, there's much more to being an empath than just being sensitive. Empaths are people who are able to feel the emotions of others as if they were their own. They're able to sense the energy of those around them and often know what someone is feeling before they even know it themselves. Empaths are often drawn to helping professions such as teaching, social work, and counseling. They're natural healers and often find themselves in the role of caretaker. But being an empath isn't all rainbows and butterflies. Because they're so attuned to the emotions of others, empaths can often absorb the negative energy of those around them. This can lead to empaths feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and even depressed. So should we call ourselves empaths? That's a question that only you can answer. But for a fresh perspective on the topic, listen to this episode to hear Esther's views about the subject she explore the pros and cons of labelling ourselves as empaths, and whether or not it's something we should do or not.
