#462 How To Achieve and Have The Mindset of Success

Personal Development Unplugged

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 19, 2025 19:48

How To Achieve and Have the Mindset of Success We hear it everywhere: “You need the mindset of success.” But what does that actually mean? And more importantly — how do you get it? In this episode of the Personal Development Unplugged podcast, I'll take you beyond the vague definitions and straight into a practical process you can use right now. We'll cut through the fluff and create a real mindset of success — one where your mind and body are fully aligned toward a specific goal. You'll discover how to: Get ultra clear and specific about what you really want (not what you don't want). Write it down in a way that seeds your unconscious mind. Identify the empowering beliefs that fuel your success. Step into the physiology and psychology of having already achieved your dream. Anchor it all with a simple word that triggers your success state whenever you need it. This isn't about “thinking positive.” It's about aligning your thoughts, feelings, and actions so you naturally move toward your goals. By the end of this episode, you'll not only understand what the mindset of success is — you'll have it. Key Takeaway: Success isn't vague — it's specific. Write it down, embody it, and live it. Key Takeaways (bullet points) Success without specificity is meaningless — define exactly what you want. Writing your goals down engages your unconscious mind and makes them real. Shift from “I don't want X” to “I want Y” to avoid reinforcing negatives. Empowering beliefs like “I've got this” or “I deserve this” fuel motivation. Visualisation plus physiology creates a success state you can step into now. Anchor your mindset with a single word to trigger confidence and focus anytime. The Role of Mindset in Medical Outcomes - Affirmations and Gratitude for Health Recovery

Can your mindset truly influence your health? In Yvonne´s personal experience the answer is Yes. Today, she explores the powerful connection between manifestation, visualization, and healing. Yvonne reveals how affirmations, gratitude, and visualization techniques supported her recovery from several health problems.  Yvonne shares practical ways to harness the power of your thoughts and emotions and cultivate a positive mindset even when you are facing health challenges and help your loved ones to do the same.  KEY TAKEAWAYS The existence of the mind-body connection is supported by neuroscience and research. Your mindset can play a significant role in your health and the healing process.   Imagining positive outcomes and hearing encouraging words can support recovery from illness.  When a doctor told her that a hole in her vein would not heal, Yvonne used a 7-step technique that included visualising. It worked, the hole healed itself, it disappeared. Visualisation is key. Use manifestation and visualisation to support your body and the doctor´s efforts to heal you. Dwelling on potential bad outcomes has the opposite effect. It pulls you down both mentally and physically. Even in the face of rare or difficult health events, maintaining a positive outlook and belief in healing is helpful. Preparing yourself mentally before medical procedures helps you to feel less anxious and can improve your overall experience of the treatment process. It is natural to worry that things are not going to work out for you, especially when you are ill. But you need to turn that on its head and imagine what things will be like when everything actually does work out.  Both outcomes are possible, but only focusing on the positive one has been proven to support recovery. BEST MOMENTS "I don't have all the answers, but what I know for sure is this: if you are struggling with an illness... manifestation and following the seven steps will help you."   "If you believe that you can manifest in the positive, I also do believe that you can manifest in the negative."   "What you think actually impacts your physiology, it's impacting the cells in your body, right? There are studies on this."   "The best thing is to prepare your mindset. And I know it's not easy."   ·do your best visualise, see yourself coming out, hear the words of the doctor, keep those images imprinted in your mind.” "Here are three gratefuls for health… Everything always works out for me. My body is smart, it can heal. My body knows what to do."   EPISODE RESOURCES Dr Joe Dispenza - https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/Joe-Dispenza/author/B001IGX24Q Eckhart Tolle - https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/Eckhart-Tolle/author/B001H6GZ5K VALUABLE RESOURCES website: pausepenny.com Instagram: @yvonnetchrakian_manifest @pause.penny LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/yvonne-tchrakian-64257619/ HOST BIO Yvonne started her career as a corporate lawyer for one of Ireland's top law firms. Send us a textThe Power of Mental Rehearsal: Why Visualisation Actually WorksYou've probably heard about visualisation before….. maybe in the form of vision boards, manifestation, or writing down your goals. All of that has its place. But what I want to get into this week is the real power of mental rehearsal The part where science meets your nervous system, and your brain starts believing you before the world catches up.Inside this episode…. ✨ Why your brain literally can't tell the difference between something vividly imagined and something lived (yes, that lemon exercise proves it) ✨ Four types of visualisation (outcome, process, situational, and identity) and how each one fuels your reinvention differently. ✨ Famous examples (Michael Phelps, Jim Carrey, Oprah, even chess champions) that show how mental rehearsal creates results. ✨ Why anxiety is actually visualisation working in reverse…. and how to turn it into trust instead of fear. ✨ Practical tips to make visualisation land, stick, and start rewiring you today. If visualisation has ever felt “a bit woo” or like something you'll get around to later, this conversation will change that.Because reinvention isn't about waiting for proof. It's about rehearsing the life you want until your system expects it.Do text the episode to let me know how you get on…. And also please like and share, rate and review…. Do all the shizzle to help others too. Can't wait to hear your visualisation successes.Loads of Love,Sarah x

In an enlightening and intense discussion, I sat down with James Laughlin, a globally recognised high-performance coach and a seven-time world champion musician. Through our conversation, we explored the essence of peak performance, personal belief systems, and the integral role of habits in fostering success. James offered valuable insights into his journey and the mental and physical frameworks that cultivate true high performance. What You'll Learn: The Foundation of High Performance: Understand James's perspective on how true peak performance is about exceeding norms while maintaining healthy relationships and well-being—not just relentlessly pursuing success at the cost of everything else. Radical Clarity: Learn why getting radically clear on your wants and needs is crucial in defining your path and avoiding distractions influenced by external pressures. Belief Systems and Their Impact: Discover how intrinsic and extrinsic motivations shape our drive and affect our outcomes, and why fostering strong, empowering beliefs is key. The Role of 'Meds' in Performance: James introduces the 'Meds' concept—mental training, exercise, diet, and sleep—as a holistic approach to supporting high performance and general well-being. The Pitfalls of Traditional Education: We discuss how conventional educational systems may not always support creative or high-performing individuals, emphasising the role parents play in filling the gap. The Dangers of Quick Fixes: James explains why there are no shortcuts to peak performance and how high achievers cultivate success through habits, not hustle or luck. Influencing Neurotransmitters Holistically: Explore how habits like meditation, cold therapy, and exercise naturally enhance motivation by regulating neurotransmitters. Motivation and Success: Understand why purpose, mastery, and autonomy, as identified by Daniel Pink, are vital to sustaining motivation and achieving long-term success. Key Takeaways: High performance integrates personal wellness: James believes maintaining balance across all life's facets leads to sustainable success. Understand the 'why': Clarifying your motivations is critical in staying focused and aligned with your true goals. Intrinsic motivation carries greater longevity: Unlike rewards and recognition, personal fulfillment and passion drive deeper and more enduring engagement. Education needs flexibility: Traditional systems may stifle creative potential; external support can nurture expansive thinking. Slow and steady builds mastery: The discipline of practice, as highlighted through deliberate learning, is vital for true accomplishment. Holistic health habits matter: Simple practices like adequate sleep and proper nutrition form the bedrock of cognitive and physical performance. The Coaching Crowd Podcast with Jo Wheatley & Zoe Hawkins

How can metaphor help your clients see themselves differently? Have you ever found yourself lost for words when trying to articulate how you feel? Or maybe you've worked with a coaching client who struggles to express their experience? In those moments, metaphors can open up powerful new pathways. In this episode, we explore the art and practice of using metaphor in coaching. It's a topic we've touched on before, but today we wanted to really dive in. Metaphors are more than clever imagery, they're a bridge to the unconscious, a creative tool for insight, and often, a much gentler route into emotional exploration. Jo has always loved metaphors. I'll admit, I used to roll my eyes when she brought them up, early in my coaching journey, I didn't see their value. But over time, I've grown to love them, not just as a coaching technique, but as a deeply human way of understanding and being understood. We talk about the science and soul of metaphor: how it can help clients shift stuck energy, bypass logic, and reflect on difficult or unknown emotions in a more depersonalised way. Whether a client says they feel like they're “carrying a heavy backpack” or “climbing a mountain”, those metaphors reveal something essential. This episode is filled with real coaching examples and reflections. We discuss clean language, the visual nature of metaphor, and how sometimes our own intuitive imagery as coaches can become powerful tools for client insight. We also touch on: How to deepen and explore a client's metaphor The importance of timing and sensitivity What to do when a client brings a metaphor back into future sessions And how metaphors can become anchors, guiding a client's growth long after the session ends Metaphors are not about being clever, they're about connecting. And as we reflect on our experiences and share some memorable client stories, we hope this conversation inspires you to listen more closely to the metaphors your clients offer, and perhaps even the ones that arise within you.   Timestamps: 00:28 – Why metaphors matter in coaching 01:23 – Zoe's journey from scepticism to love for metaphor 02:22 – Moving beyond logic: using metaphor to unlock stuckness 03:18 – Working with client-generated metaphors 04:42 – How metaphors shift energy and enable playfulness 06:10 – Depersonalisation and the power of symbolic language 07:35 – Metaphor as language for growth between sessions 08:57 – The client who visualised their journey through art 09:26 – Visualisation and emotional metaphor in coaching 10:47 – Tips for noticing and using metaphor in session 12:38 – Creating movement and reconnecting with session goals 14:32 – Coach-generated metaphors and intuitive imagery 16:31 – When metaphors work best: even with 'non-visual' clients 17:26 – Anchoring emotion and experience with metaphor 18:54 – Why metaphor accelerates understanding and insight 20:49 – Using metaphor when clients want to remain private   Key Lessons Learned: Metaphors allow clients to express deep emotions without needing to verbalise them directly They can help bypass logical resistance and tap into the unconscious mind Clean language is a powerful tool for exploring client-originated metaphors Visual and symbolic metaphors can become long-term anchors for growth Coaches can offer their own intuitive metaphors to enrich the dialogue—but only when the client is ready   Keywords: metaphor in coaching, clean language coaching, using metaphors with clients, symbolic coaching techniques, coaching tools for emotions, how to use metaphor in therapy, coaching metaphors examples, unconscious mind in coaching, visual coaching techniques, coaching confidence with metaphor,   Links & Resources: Emotions Coaching: https://www.igcompany.co.uk/emotions-coaching
