If you're scared that building muscle will make you bulky, but you're also frustrated that dieting harder still isn't giving you the lean, defined look you want… this episode is the mindset shift. In this episode, we're talking about the difference between losing weight and actually building a body that looks lean, strong and shaped.Because if you're training hard, eating low calories, avoiding carbs, doing more cardio, chasing more control, and still feeling soft or stuck, the answer probably isn't “diet harder.”It might be that you're under-fuelled, under-recovered, practising the wrong things, and expecting your body to perform without giving it what it needs to build. We cover:• why building muscle does not mean getting bulky• why carbs matter for training performance, muscle, energy and body recomposition• why low calories can make you feel like you're working hard but not actually progressing• the difference between scale weight and how your body looks, feels and performs• why the basics work — but only if you stop getting bored of them• why getting lean is not just about shrinking, it's about building enough muscle to create shapeThis is for the woman who wants to look lean, toned and defined — but is tired of living like fat loss is the only answer.Find me on Instagram: @transformxruby

It's a year after the Battles of Lexington and Concord and only days before the Declaration of Independence would be signed. It's June 1776 and along the shores of South Carolina, British troops are amassing while the colonists rush to construct Fort Sullivan out of the local palmetto logs which would later be commemorated on that state's flag and in its nickname.  After a day of fighting involving 10,000 British and American troops, the British abandoned their effort and the patriots proved they could compete in battle with the British Army and Navy.  To walk us through this historic battle including its buildup and aftermath, we are honored to welcome historian and scholar Doug Maclntyre.  Doug is a fellow of Southern Campaigns of the American Revolution and served on the board of the South Carolina Historical Society and chaired the Fort Sumter – Fort Moultrie Historical Trust.

On this week's Political Breakfast, we're starting off with an increasingly contentious local race ahead of the June primary runoff elections: the race for Fulton County Commission Chair. Longtime incumbent Robb Pitts is being challenged by former District 4 Commissioner Mo Ivory. Recent debates between the two have been fiery and full of personal attacks. One issue voters are bringing up is age. Pitts is now in his mid-80s. How does ageism play into these elections -- from the Fulton Commission Chair, all the way up to the Georgia governor's race? Do these attacks on age have merit? Plus, Republican Lt. Gov. Burt Jones is now focusing his campaign for governor on safety concerns for Atlanta MARTA riders. That's after President Trump's Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced the feds are launching an investigation into how MARTA spends its money. The transit authority has dealt with a series of violent incidents just weeks ahead of the FIFA World Cup. https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM728_MDM_May6_26.mp3   Success through immersion is the principle I keep coming back to — because it’s the one most people resist, and the one that explains nearly every plateau I’ve ever seen. If you’ve been working hard, studying the concepts, doing the mindset work, and still feel like you keep bouncing back to old patterns — this episode is probably why. Success Through Immersion: Why an Hour a Day Won’t Get You ThereI use language learning as the entry point here, because it’s such a clean illustration of the problem. You can study Italian for an hour a day, learn vocabulary, practice pronunciation — and still fall completely apart the moment you’re in a room where nobody speaks English. Not a failure of effort. A failure of immersion. The same dynamic plays out with success. Most people spend an hour in the new mindset and twenty-three hours back in the old environment — surrounded by the same triggers, conversations, and patterns. The mind doesn’t integrate what it only visits. It integrates what it lives in. I know this firsthand. When I left working for someone else and went all-in on my own business, I didn’t ease into it — I dove in completely. Every decision, every response, every moment had to come from a successful place, because there was no other option. That’s what made it permanent. Success Through Immersion: How to Build the Environment That Changes YouChanging your mindset isn’t about trying harder inside the same environment — it’s about changing the environment so that the new thinking becomes the default. Steph Toss is one of the clearest examples I’ve ever seen of what full immersion actually produces. Rather than just taking notes, she traveled, sold, sat in every room, and learned every part of the business — until there wasn’t a single aspect of success she hadn’t lived firsthand. That’s when transformation becomes real and permanent. The same principle applies whether you’re working on your income, your relationships, or your health. Take an honest inventory of what in your life is still wired to the old version of you — the triggers, the habits, the conversations — and stop tolerating it. Success isn’t a thing you do for an hour. It’s a language you speak all the time, until one day you realize you’re no longer translating. You’re just thinking that way. That’s when you know the immersion worked. If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of progress followed by setbacks, this episode is an honest look at why — and what a real path through it looks like. Episode 650 – Immersion is Crucial for Mastery Episode 496 – Insider Secrets for Creating Consistent Cashflow – Part I Episode 384 – Raising the Bar You are successful on paper… but why doesn't it feel like freedom? In August, I'm bringing together a group of driven entrepreneurs for a 2-day business intensive where we strip away the fear, resistance, and patterns that quietly cap your growth, and get you clear on your next breakthrough.Together, we'll uncover what's been holding you back, claim the freedom you've been chasing, and walk away with the clarity and courage to lead your business — and your life — on your terms. And because business growth isn't just about mindset, Steph Tuss is teaching a special marketing session on the latest business-building tactics that are working now. Acts 7 records a Gospel sermon proclaimed to Paul before he was born again.  Paul, approving of Stephen's execution, would have been aware of this testimony. Sometime later, Paul is brought to repentance and faith by the sovereign grace of God & now we read his own Gospel sermon preached to the church in Corinth in I Corinthians 15.
I Cor 15:1-3 provides an outline for the remainder of the chapter.  Each section following this introduction contains increasingly detailed content. The Gospel that Paul preached and upon which the Church stands is summarized in verses 3-11. Verses 12-34 expound the resurrection as a theological nonnegotiable… the resurrection is essential doctrine to Christianity. To deny it is to deny the faith, rendering everything else you happen to profess meaningless, futile, vain, & useless. Finally, verses 35–58 address frequently asked questions about eternal life answering them with a profound and glorious explanation according to the scriptures proclaimed, fulfilled, and applied.

Discovering Plants with Healing Powers with guest Ava Long, Clinical Herbalist and Owner, Floral Botanical Medicine Greek physician Hippocrates is attributed with saying “Nature is the best physician.” Herbalism is the study and practice of using plants for medicinal, therapeutic, and health-promoting purposes.Ancient Greek herbalism helped form the foundation of modern herbal medicine and the emphasis on the balance between nature, health and philosophy. Every plant seems to have its own special healing superpowers, and a relatable story to tell. Clinical herbalist Ava Long shares her story and her approach to herbal science. Ava Long is the owner of Floral Botanical Medicine, a health and wellness practice. Her diagnostic approach incorporates live blood microscopy to uncover root causes of chronic health concerns. She develops individualized herbal protocols for detoxification and for restoring balance and achieving optimal health. Ava has trained at various institutions, including the Boston School of Herbal Studies, where she also serves as an adjunct professor. She is also the founder of Maine Sea Greens, a seaweed food product combining her passion for herbalism and seaweed. Through her work, she helps others benefit from ancient holistic practices alongside modern technology. Note: Roughly 30 percent of the global population is at risk for iodine deficiency. Symptoms of iodine deficiency include unexplained weight gain, chronic fatigue, cold sensitivity, dry skin, thinning hair, and enlarged thyroid gland. Seaweed, the best natural source of iodine, is an excellent herbal and dietary addition for supporting thyroid health, regulating blood sugar, and providing antioxidant protection. Seaweed should, however, be consumed in moderation to avoid excess iodine. We break down why legal ownership on paper means nothing without operational control of your code and servers.     Key takeaways:  The illusion of progress: Why a functioning app doesn't automatically mean you own a secure business asset. Prevention vs. cure: How to use the prototype phase to lock down your infrastructure before hiring developers. Scientific Breakthroughs and Political Retreat Set the Stage for a Crucial Global Moment in the Fight Against HIV/AIDS

Global Dispatches -- World News That Matters

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 1, 2026 29:30

There are two competing trends in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. On the one hand, there has been tremendous progress toward reducing the number of infections and deaths from HIV/AIDS over the last twenty years. Scientific advances in treatment and prevention, new policy tools, and political and funding commitments have driven down HIV/AIDS to the point where it is possible to foresee an AIDS-free world in the not-so-distant future. On the other hand, over the last few years, that progress has suddenly come under threat. COVID upended HIV/AIDS programs in much of the world, and more recently, sudden and swift funding cuts, including from the United States, are shaking the foundation upon which previous decades of progress were built. On June 22 and 23, these two competing forces will come to a head at the United Nations, where diplomats are gathering for a major meeting on HIV/AIDS. According to my guest today, Mitchell Warren, the High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS at the UN presents a unique opportunity for multilateral coordination toward the goal of ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat, but that goal may be stymied. Key countries that previously led the global fight against HIV/AIDS, including the United States, are stepping back from their leadership roles, potentially upending decades of progress. Mitchell Warren is the executive director of AVAC, an advocacy group. We kick off by discussing some of the exciting new scientific innovations that may accelerate progress toward ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat, then have a discussion of how cuts in funding and eroding political commitments are hitting just as these promising new scientific innovations are coming online. We then have a long conversation about how this dynamic may play out at the UN — and what to expect from the High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS.

FROM CRUSHING DEFEAT TO 160+ ESSAY SCORE: How Zaniya Finally Passed the Bar Exam! (Ep. 026) Imagine doing everything right—the endless multiple-choice questions, the grueling essays, isolating yourself from friends—only to find out you didn't pass. Again. In this incredibly raw and inspiring episode of the Bar Study Motivation Podcast, San sits down with Rutgers Law Alum Zaniya Lewis to discuss her ultimate triumph over the bar exam after four attempts. If you are a repeat taker, a full-time worker juggling a heavy commute, or someone feeling defeated by standard bar prep courses, this interview is the exact blueprint and mindset shift you need to watch. Zaniya opens up about her lowest moments—including taking a half-day off work just to cry on her kitchen floor—and how she completely transformed her study habits to skyrocket her essay writing score by over 30 points (yielding a massive 158.6 / 160 score!). We dive deep into why standard "big box" bar preps like Themis failed her, why outlining essays is a trap, and how the "reps and drilling" method gave her the ultimate confidence to actually smile during the exam. WHAT WE COVER IN THIS EPISODE: The "Big Box" Bar Prep Trap: Why Zaniya switched from traditional courses after two failed attempts. The Power of Unlimited Grading: How getting her essays completely ripped apart by Bar Exam Drills led to a 30+ point score increase. Studying While Working Full-Time: Managing a grueling 4-hour daily train commute while getting 25–30 questions and an essay done every single day. Why Outlining is Harming Your Score: Why typing out full essays under time constraints is non-negotiable for success. Manifestation + Hard Work: Zaniya's secrets to keeping a positive mindset, incorporating life/family back into bar prep, and putting in the grueling "reps." The Walmart Celebration: The exact moment Zaniya found out she passed and her mom dropped to her knees in the middle of a store. “And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now has come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brothers has been cast down, who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death” (Rev. 12:10-11).This week we conclude the series titled, “Necessary Experiences, Important Lessons, and a Crucial Decision,” with speaking from Brother Ron Kangas on the final three lessons and on a crucial decision that we have to make to be an overcomer. Learn what happens when the executive accountable for data strategy is also the executive accountable for the business results that depend on it. Saugata Saha, President of S&P Global Market Intelligence and Chief Enterprise Data Officer at S&P Global, shares how he manages one of the world's largest financial data estates while driving business outcomes across public and private markets. He breaks down the four pillars of S&P Global's data strategy, the federated organizational model that connects data teams to business value, and why capturing ROI from AI requires deliberate workflow transformation. Key Moments Why Data Strategy Must Follow Business Strategy (04:57): Saugata challenges the idea that data and business strategy can run in parallel. Market trends, customer pain points, and existing capabilities must come first. Building an AI-Ready Financial Data Estate (15:10): Scale alone does not create intelligence. Saugata explains why semantic layers and graph databases are the hard work behind connected financial data. How AI Compresses Post-Acquisition Data Integration (18:29): Manual reconciliation of millions of records is no longer the only path. Discover how AI entity matching accelerated post-acquisition integration. The Federated Model That Connects Data to Value (22:49): Most large organizations either over-centralize data teams or leave them too embedded to scale. Saugata outlines the federated model that actually bridges both. Rethinking AI Productivity: From Marginal to Transformative (28:29): Most AI programs stop at training and tooling. Saugata explains why deliberately redesigning workflows is the missing step between AI investment and real ROI. Key Quotes “Data strategy and business strategy have to be very tightly connected. And if they're not, that's when value capture does not happen. In fact, I would go so far as to say data strategy actually follows from business strategy.” - Saugata Saha “Stop treating data as an afterthought or byproduct, but start thinking about data as a key ingredient for value creation and competitive advantage.” - Saugata Saha “We don't want everybody to become 10% more productive, because that's a little squishy. We want 10% of the people to become a hundred percent more productive so they can do other things.” - Saugata Saha “If a company can really use data at scale for better decision making, better client service, [and] better outcomes, that creates a lasting edge over the competition.” - Saugata Saha Mentions S&P Global Agrees to Acquire With Intelligence from Motive Partners for $1.8 Billion, Establishing Its Leadership in Private Markets Intelligence The Data & AI Chief: Why a Federated Data Team is Crucial for Business Value, with Dow Private Companies Wait Too Long to Go Public The Lex Fridman Podcast Guest Bios  Saugata serves as President of S&P Global Market Intelligence, leading the division's efforts to deliver essential insights and intelligence to clients worldwide.
