When you're constantly in work mode, your creative well can run dry, leading to frustration and burnout. That's why recharging is crucial. By taking breaks, engaging in activities that spark joy, and allowing yourself to play, you're replenishing your creative reserves and inviting fresh ideas and inspiration into your life. But when life gets overwhelming, we often hear the term “self-care” being thrown around... and the truth is, recharging goes beyond self-care. It's about giving yourself the time and space to truly reconnect with what makes you feel alive. It's not just about pampering your physical well-being; it's about reigniting that spark of creativity that might have been buried under deadlines and responsibilities. As adults, we often forget the sheer joy and curiosity we experienced as children. But within each of us lies an inner child yearning to be set free. By reconnecting with the activities that brought us pure happiness in our younger years, we can tap into a well of creativity and inspiration.Take a moment to reflect on what you loved to do as a child. Did you enjoy drawing, singing, playing sports, or building things with Legos? Revisiting these childhood passions can serve as a powerful catalyst for recharging your creativity. Allow yourself to indulge in those activities and embrace the sense of wonder and playfulness that comes with them.As a Cycle Business coach, Renae has had the honor of empowering hundreds of women to redefine the way they work. Together, we unravel the complexities of electromagnetic frequencies and their implications on our health, from cellular stress responses to the foreboding reality of lowered testosterone levels. Darin also highlights the urgent need to shift towards a sustainable home and poses challenging but realistic alternatives to our daily living that will not only keep us healthier but reduce our carbon footprint and create healthier communities. Fatal conveniences are the toxic products we routinely use and the unhealthy things we do that our culture and corporations have made us believe are safe and necessary for living well and efficiently. These things—from deodorant, cosmetics, dental floss, and sunscreen to laundry detergent, air fresheners, carpets, and crayons to candles, tea bags, cell phones, and chewing gum—are ubiquitous in daily life . . . and they are wreaking havoc on our health and our planet. The environmental toxins found in these products create a cascade of problems, including chemical sensitivities, auto-immune issues, obesity, chronic health diseases, and more. But it's not just about what we put in or on our bodies, we explore the profound impact our decisions can have on our personal growth and the world around us. This may be hard to admit - but you deserve the occasional day off to just relax. To do nothing at all. To binge watch. To sit and waste time. Recharge and replenish. And then practice forgiving yourself for not being productive. We have been conditioned our whole lives to believe that productivity is the only way to be valuable in a society based on capitalism and industriousness. We have never been taught that rest is not a reward. It is work. A thing we must do. Especially if we aim to ever be productive. We are expected to perform every single day, regardless of our energy levels or anything that is happening in our lives, yet most of us still feel guilty when we take days off. Lions are the king of the jungle yet they spend 20 hours of the day - sleeping. Shit, computers need to go to sleep, and even shut down occasionally. You have been so hard on yourself even though the expectations are often unreasonable so You are exhausted. You often end up wasting more time than you needed to because you are avoiding resting fully. Allow yourself to rest so you can get back to the productivity we have all been conditioned to aspire to. Any time you feel guilty for resting - remember, you are not a machine but even if you were - even machines need to be recharged. You are no different. Don't add to the pressure that already exists + is pressuring you already. If you need to rest anyway, intentionally try to remove the guilt.GET AN OCCASIONAL PERSONAL EMAIL FROM ME: www.makeyourdamnbedpodcast.comTUNE IN ON INSTAGRAM FOR COOL CONTENT: www.instagram.com/mydbpodcastOR BE A REAL GEM + TUNE IN ON PATREON: www.patreon.com/MYDBpodcastOR WATCH ON YOUTUBE: www.youtube.com/juliemerica The opinions expressed by Julie Merica and Make Your Damn Bed Podcast are intended for entertainment purposes only. We are all responsible for the energy we bring to our relationships, our families, work, and communities. Sometimes we need a reset - especially if we are in a negative, low energy space. It's easy to blame how we are showing up on external conditions, people around us, our experiences. This is true, there are parts of life that are out of our control and bring discomfort and sadness. Listen to Ep. 102 Growing through Life for how to shift your perspective toward a growth mindset. We are all responsible for how we respond, how we show up. Our words matter. Our actions matter. And our presence is felt. We can all take a moment, a pause at any time, if we are not showing up in alignment to our higher, heart self. Through the practice of meditation, we raise our self-awareness. With awareness, we can notice thoughts we think, feelings we feel, actions we are take. This awareness helps us pause and make a shift if we are out of alignment. The more you practice presence, it becomes easier if you are stuck in a story or pattern that is against you and others. This is no way to be. Listen to this meditation to reset and return to where your power lies - from your heart self, by being present. In this episode we chat with Sara and Morgan, the dynamic duo behind Wild & Free Mamas. Sara's love for the outdoors began in Pennsylvania, where she spent her days exploring the woods and enjoying summers at camp. On the other hand, Morgan, growing up in Georgia, discovered her passion for nature during high school. After becoming mothers, they both experienced a transformative moment when they gave themselves permission to embark on separate adventures out west. These journeys allowed them to step away from the demands of motherhood, reconnect with nature, and deepen their connection with God. Most importantly, it provided them with the opportunity to recharge and gain a fresh perspective when returning to their families. Inspired by their own experiences, Sara and Morgan realized that other moms could benefit from similar adventures and soul-nourishing moments. Thus, Wild & Free Mamas was born. What started as small meetups has evolved into exciting weekend adventures that impact moms from all walks of life. By drawing moms out of their comfort zones and into the realm of adventure, Wild & Free Mamas creates a space for deep connection and courage, fostering lasting growth in their identities and relationships with others and with God. Because after all, every mama needs periodic time to recharge, connect, and have fun. If you've ever wondered about the power of adventure to bring joy, renewal, and courage into your life, or if you seek a space to connect with like-minded moms and embark on meaningful journeys, then this episode's for you!
