Modern culture tells men to be softer, safer, and more sensitive—until we lose respect for the very men who listen. In this episode of Shane's Diary, I share my personal journey of reclaiming my masculinity after years of suppressing it to be “good.” From growing up under the shadow of a hyper-religious mother who called every masculine impulse sinful, to living with a father who embodied its most toxic extremes—I learned to distrust my own nature. When I found spirituality, I thought peace meant weakness and gentleness meant goodness. I became the “nice guy.” I lost my fire. And it almost cost me my marriage. This is the story of how I got it back. Of what it really means to be a conscious man in a world that tells men to be more like women. And why reclaiming your masculine power isn't dangerous—it's divine.

To Learn More About the Inspired Love Program, Click Here I'm back with my second diary entry. In this episode I share about my journey of living with a repressed shadow and how I learned to integrate it in a healthy way. From the extreme religious repression of my mother to the unchecked ego of my father, I share how I internalized the idea that I was unworthy of God's love from a young age. I was broken open by my experiences through jail, addiction, career failure, and my wife's cancer journey to finally love all of myself and heal the internal self-hatred that had created chaos and conflict in my life around me. The full story inside. Happy listening!

It was a common theme, throughout this entire time between Swasthik Iyengar and me, that it's very hard to keep things simple. Simplicity often gets misappropriated with ease or easy, but this couldn't be further from the truth Hat's off to Swazzy however, for she's managed the task of changing continents, within her journey, thus far. In many ways, life could have been simpler, but then agein, this wouldn't have yielded such a beautiful story and human. Swazzy is a resident artist of Good Luck NYC. She likes to pull from her culture and faith in her artwork. Lately, she's been gearing up for her first gallery showing in LA at the Devout Gallery. It's June 21nd. Mark you calendar! Despite being in a major flow-state, painting, making, meditating... Swazzi gave quite a bit of time to this show. This is the conclusion of our 3 part Entry, with this beautiful talent. We are back with our 2nd piece of this 3 part, Diary Entry with Swasthik Iyengar, of Good Luck NYC. She's a fantastic artist who's gearing up for her first gallery showing in LA at the Devout Gallery. It's June 21nd. Despite being in a major flow-state, painting, making, meditating... Swazzi gave quite a bit of time to this show by sharing how she combines her practice in tattooing with her faith. This is the continuation of a fantastic time, meeting this beautiful talent. Wow... What an amazing time meeting this awesome person, talent, and tattoo artist! This is the first part of our time with Swasthik Iyengar of Good Luck Tattoo in NYC. She's here, sharing her culture and at the same time, loving our culture here in the states. Our recording marked her 1st year anniversary. Welcome Swazzi! She's lived in multiple countries and really is a rich human in terms of experience (and all the other ways that really matter)... So much in so little time, it's really wonderful to witness. God bless you Swazzi! This show is so grateful for so much of what you gave us. Moreover, the US is really lucky to have you here... makes perfect sense that your home studio right now is Good Luck Tattoo. As always, thank you Listeners. I think my mic might be going... That's one more prayer I need answer to... Why my audio has this terrible sound in the background? Is it the mic or the cord? Guess I'll get a new cord and see... Please God... Let it be the cord! This week is just a call for prayer. Your host is stressed and needing some spiritual cheerleading. Thank you Listeners... We are back with the rest of the wonderful time, we spent with Erika Lalita of Sylph Art Studios. In this next half, we learn more about being a chalk artist; Except, now that the all the wonder of this job has been revealed, we must talk about the realities. This next part is about self care, being realistic, and what sort of things Erika manages when she's not pursuing passion. There's always a toll to pay on the road to one's dream. Some of us discover that it's just a dream and look into something else, while some of us make dreams into chalk art for all to see. Thank you for sharing and giving so much time to this show Erika. Well, we certainly can talk! It's probably because Ken Madden and I don't see each other often, that we are bursting by the time we finally get together? I pray we don't wait so long next time. However, in this 3 part Diary Entry, there was a reoccurring theme of God and the gifts we are given to express God's love in this life. Ken, like me, recognizes this tremendous calling and in this 3 part series, we really look at how Ken has worked through his walk with God, all while sharing his gifts of drawing, design, gab, etc... This is a wonderful last bit... Please join us and as always, God bless you all for your efforts given to this podcast. We are humbled and grateful. Alright folks... We're set for this week and next, with the wonderful Ken Madden of MaddK Studios. Ken got excited when I started to share my walk with God and wanted to show me and all of you, how God works and speaks, in his life. It was so nice catching up with this distant, friend who I just keep learning more and more from. Please continue to listen as Ken an I talk about all the different ways God works and moves in our lives, our art and what's in the works for the future. This is Part 2 of our Diary Entry with, "Therealnoshoes" (or Scott). He's an audio producer and has quite the following on YouTube (ever growing). Definitely check him out! He's sincere and makes a point of giving authentic "reactions". In this 2nd piece, we talk about learning practices as well as discover how Scott adopted that "forever" smile; It's not always kept him out of trouble, but it does allow him to deliver hard information, when he needs to. No hard information in this Entry... We love him and it was a pleasure to host Noshoes, with this 2 part Diary Entry. Click here to be routed to all things "Noshoes". This week, we have an 'interview' with Scott, AKA "Noshoes", who had to workshop his name a bit to work with the internet, making him "Therealnoshoes". He's an audio producer and is making his name known via 'reaction' videos. Definitely check him out! He's sincere and meets his viewers with a smile. God put Scott in front of this show and it felt wrong to let the opportunity go by without gathering a Diary Entry from him. He's extremely prolific and very passionate. This is a 2 Part Diary Entry, so we hope Listeners circle back next week for Part 2... In the meantime, click here to be routed to all things "Noshoes". Early today (12:20am), this Diary Entry was recorded. It's been a full week and full day. This is just another personal share, but within the week and upon declaring more personal entries, there's been many beautiful people who've offered to record and share their stories. It's like God telling me that this show must be more than just a relationship between me and him... It must expand and continue to gather. What glorious things to look forward to ahead! We'll have some new stories and some stories continued. Either way, the show goes on and the gratitude is endless. Thank you Diary Listeners and God bless us all! Happy MLK Jr Day and Inauguration Day!... I'm rushed to production today. This Diary Entry was not as streamline as it was last week. Of course, "God laughs when man plans". This is something a bit new. I'm (Amy) amazed how long I was able to speak and how much more I could have concerning the happenings this week. This is my first attempt to chronicle how God moves and speaks, in my life. I'm leaning into this being both a Diary and a work dedicated to the glory of God. This was pure and mostly freeform. As I admit, it's not concise, but if nothing else, I pray it will be entertaining. Above all, I want to share my life as a perspective and my walk with God as an invitation to others to explore with me. Worse case, I'm in the world and not of the world... Which might lose me worldly favor, but save my soul. I pray it's enough. God bless all Diary Listeners. Your time and attention is an honor to me. This is Part 1 of our 2 Part Diary Entry with Allie Oxenblood, the Treehouse Tattooer. I think Allie does a great job introducing herself in her IG bio: "Tattooin, Tale-tellin, pot-stirring, liberty loving, dissident mountain mama. Ceremonial treehouse tattooing in Appalachia, WV." In this piece, we talk all things God and explore some of Allie's time tattooing. In truth, this was off-script from the start and in order to get to Allie's apprenticeship days, we might have to meet again. Hopefully, this podcast went rogue in the best ways. Your host certainly enjoyed herself. Allie... Thank you to the moon and back! This was a wonderful time and you were so gracious to play along. Bless you and let's do this again for sure. Listeners, come back next week as we're not done talking to Allie. God bless you all. ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us!
