Send us a textI felt the need to go off script, as daunting as it was, so that I could be honest about where I am at. This episode was both therapeutic but also unnerving to produce because I was constantly overthinking. Hitting the publish button despite the mistakes I picked up while listening back, is me telling myself that its okay to show up even if that version of me doesn't meet my expectation. Its okay to just be human and just be. Ted talks: 1. Mindfulness and your brain2. It was a common theme, throughout this entire time between Swasthik Iyengar and me, that it's very hard to keep things simple. Simplicity often gets misappropriated with ease or easy, but this couldn't be further from the truth Hat's off to Swazzy however, for she's managed the task of changing continents, within her journey, thus far. In many ways, life could have been simpler, but then agein, this wouldn't have yielded such a beautiful story and human. Swazzy is a resident artist of Good Luck NYC. She likes to pull from her culture and faith in her artwork. Lately, she's been gearing up for her first gallery showing in LA at the Devout Gallery. It's June 21nd. Mark you calendar! Despite being in a major flow-state, painting, making, meditating... Swazzi gave quite a bit of time to this show. This is the conclusion of our 3 part Entry, with this beautiful talent. We are back with our 2nd piece of this 3 part, Diary Entry with Swasthik Iyengar, of Good Luck NYC. She's a fantastic artist who's gearing up for her first gallery showing in LA at the Devout Gallery. It's June 21nd. Despite being in a major flow-state, painting, making, meditating... Swazzi gave quite a bit of time to this show by sharing how she combines her practice in tattooing with her faith. This is the continuation of a fantastic time, meeting this beautiful talent. Wow... What an amazing time meeting this awesome person, talent, and tattoo artist! This is the first part of our time with Swasthik Iyengar of Good Luck Tattoo in NYC. She's here, sharing her culture and at the same time, loving our culture here in the states. Our recording marked her 1st year anniversary. Welcome Swazzi! She's lived in multiple countries and really is a rich human in terms of experience (and all the other ways that really matter)... So much in so little time, it's really wonderful to witness. God bless you Swazzi! This show is so grateful for so much of what you gave us. Moreover, the US is really lucky to have you here... makes perfect sense that your home studio right now is Good Luck Tattoo. As always, thank you Listeners. Come back next week because there's definitely more with Swazzi! If you are interested with working with Swazzi, click here to start the booking process. I think my mic might be going... That's one more prayer I need answer to... Why my audio has this terrible sound in the background? Is it the mic or the cord? Guess I'll get a new cord and see... Please God... Let it be the cord! This week is just a call for prayer. Your host is stressed and needing some spiritual cheerleading. Thank you Listeners... God bless us all as we traverse this crazy, non-stop, existence. Let's keep our chins up. We are back with the rest of the wonderful time, we spent with Erika Lalita of Sylph Art Studios. In this next half, we learn more about being a chalk artist; Except, now that the all the wonder of this job has been revealed, we must talk about the realities. This next part is about self care, being realistic, and what sort of things Erika manages when she's not pursuing passion. There's always a toll to pay on the road to one's dream. Some of us discover that it's just a dream and look into something else, while some of us make dreams into chalk art for all to see. Thank you for sharing and giving so much time to this show Erika. Thank you for pursuing your passion and making the world a more beautiful, fun and joyous, place. As always, God bless everyone! Well, we certainly can talk! It's probably because Ken Madden and I don't see each other often, that we are bursting by the time we finally get together? I pray we don't wait so long next time. However, in this 3 part Diary Entry, there was a reoccurring theme of God and the gifts we are given to express God's love in this life. Ken, like me, recognizes this tremendous calling and in this 3 part series, we really look at how Ken has worked through his walk with God, all while sharing his gifts of drawing, design, gab, etc... This is a wonderful last bit... Please join us and as always, God bless you all for your efforts given to this podcast. We are humbled and grateful. Alright folks... We're set for this week and next, with the wonderful Ken Madden of MaddK Studios. Ken got excited when I started to share my walk with God and wanted to show me and all of you, how God works and speaks, in his life. It was so nice catching up with this distant, friend who I just keep learning more and more from. Please continue to listen as Ken an I talk about all the different ways God works and moves in our lives, our art and what's in the works for the future. Thank you always Ken and God bless all of us in our pursuit of passion. Please check out our recent Blog added to our website. Our good friend, Ken Madden, is back and beyond catching up with me personally, he shares his personal story of accepting Christ. This podcast goes in and and out of many conversations, as we often do, but Ken has a great relationship/story in regards to his walk with Christ... Check it out Listeners! Come back next week too... This is Part 2 of our Diary Entry with, "Therealnoshoes" (or Scott). He's an audio producer and has quite the following on YouTube (ever growing). Definitely check him out! He's sincere and makes a point of giving authentic "reactions". In this 2nd piece, we talk about learning practices as well as discover how Scott adopted that "forever" smile; It's not always kept him out of trouble, but it does allow him to deliver hard information, when he needs to. No hard information in this Entry... We love him and it was a pleasure to host Noshoes, with this 2 part Diary Entry. Click here to be routed to all things "Noshoes". This week, we have an 'interview' with Scott, AKA "Noshoes", who had to workshop his name a bit to work with the internet, making him "Therealnoshoes". He's an audio producer and is making his name known via 'reaction' videos. Definitely check him out! He's sincere and meets his viewers with a smile. God put Scott in front of this show and it felt wrong to let the opportunity go by without gathering a Diary Entry from him. He's extremely prolific and very passionate. This is a 2 Part Diary Entry, so we hope Listeners circle back next week for Part 2... In the meantime, click here to be routed to all things "Noshoes". Early today (12:20am), this Diary Entry was recorded. It's been a full week and full day. This is just another personal share, but within the week and upon declaring more personal entries, there's been many beautiful people who've offered to record and share their stories. It's like God telling me that this show must be more than just a relationship between me and him... It must expand and continue to gather. What glorious things to look forward to ahead! We'll have some new stories and some stories continued. Either way, the show goes on and the gratitude is endless. Thank you Diary Listeners and God bless us all! Happy MLK Jr Day and Inauguration Day!... I'm rushed to production today. This Diary Entry was not as streamline as it was last week. Of course, "God laughs when man plans". So, this week's Entry is rather all over the place. I call for prayers to be made and announce prayers answered. I also give some drama advice (both in cinema and within interpersonal relationships). Please, do me a favor and subscribe to our friend Gunnar Gaylord's new YouTube Channel! (Reflective Journeyman) His first video is up and I'd love for you all to go listen for 13 min and give him some love. Gunnar has been on the show and is a wonderful man to know. This is something a bit new. I'm (Amy) amazed how long I was able to speak and how much more I could have concerning the happenings this week. This is my first attempt to chronicle how God moves and speaks, in my life. I'm leaning into this being both a Diary and a work dedicated to the glory of God. This was pure and mostly freeform. As I admit, it's not concise, but if nothing else, I pray it will be entertaining. Above all, I want to share my life as a perspective and my walk with God as an invitation to others to explore with me. Worse case, I'm in the world and not of the world... Which might lose me worldly favor, but save my soul. I pray it's enough. God bless all Diary Listeners. Your time and attention is an honor to me. Thank you for coming back and checking out this second piece of our talk with Nicole DeRoy of Ascension Tattoo in Sedona, AZ. We talk about the "street-shop" vibe and what gifts it yields to a newer artist. Nicole is also, one of the only artists in Sedona that integrates energy work with the tattoo service. She does "ceremonial" tattoos and shares some of the benefits of this kind of tattoo experience. Then... We get a quick visit from Rico who eats soup with us and shares a bit of his experience. Part 2 was so much fun with Allie Oxenblood, the Treehouse Tattooer. We finally talk about her apprenticeship. Yay!!! It is wild and the source of so much laughter, despite the very real and scary situations. As determined within this show, life can either cause tears or laughter... Either way, we gotta get through. This is Part 1 of our 2 Part Diary Entry with Allie Oxenblood, the Treehouse Tattooer. I think Allie does a great job introducing herself in her IG bio: "Tattooin, Tale-tellin, pot-stirring, liberty loving, dissident mountain mama. Ceremonial treehouse tattooing in Appalachia, WV." In this piece, we talk all things God and explore some of Allie's time tattooing. In truth, this was off-script from the start and in order to get to Allie's apprenticeship days, we might have to meet again. Hopefully, this podcast went rogue in the best ways. Your host certainly enjoyed herself. Allie... Thank you to the moon and back! This was a wonderful time and you were so gracious to play along. Bless you and let's do this again for sure. In this last third of his Diary Entry, we talk about wisdom with Kevin Kline of Tattoo Icons (Perryville, MD); How important wisdom is and all the different ways to acquire wisdom (the funny and stupid ways). Kevin shares what his hopes are for the next 5 years and shouts out some epic influences he's had already; Influences that give him hope and inspiration for the future. Overall, this show is honored to know such a sweet human as Kevin. It's obvious that he cares deeply about the work and those he practices with. Thank you so much Kevin! This was an amazing time. Thank your cat too. As much as we recommend life out of the closet, we can appreciate the moments where we just gotta hide. Praise God for all the blessings. Part 1 of this 3 part Diary Entry is called "A Wise Choice" because Kevin Kline made a wise choice to get fully into tattooing again, before he came on the podcast. He knew the ups and downs of his time, trying to get into tattooing and he wanted to put a good foot forward before he talked too much. Now, as a member of the Tattoo Icons crew, he can start sharing with us and we can shout out his story. More, it's November 5th, General Election Day and we all should be out to make solid choices today. Thank you so much for this time Kevin. This is Part 2 and the last portion of our time with Lewis Bunn or "Lewie" . Lewis is an Englishman, living in Australia and he's been working his body to the bone to give his kids and wife, a better life. In this second half of his show, we hear about the really cool family Lewie has; They are all wicked talented! Lewis was in construction but wanted to pursue a better life for his family. By giving into his heart, moving across the world and seeking a life as a tattoo artist, Lewis is really a great example to all those out there who are struggling to tattoo as a career. He has three kids, a wife, and the regulations of Australia, to balance, along with his passion for art. He's really showing how much a man can do if he simply is willing to hustle. Pardon the conversational style of this podcast, but Lewis has been a friend to this show since 2019; We kinda just caught up, in this show. We hope it's fun for everyone to listen to. Lewis Bunn works at Sageleaf Gallery of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Make sure to keep your eye out on him as he hopes to make it to the States in the future. Lewis Bunn or "Lewie" , has been apart of this podcast, on the back channels, since the beginning. In the background of this podcast's growth, Lewis was trying to get into tattooing. He's an Englishman, living in Australia and he's been working his body to the bone to give his kids and wife, a better life. Lewis had a trade but wanted to pursue a passion in the arts. Tattooing is this for many out there and since 2019, Lewis has been keeping in touch with this podcast; Trying to make friends and get into a field that isn't easy... Especially with a family to support. Pardon the conversational style of this podcast, but I am just so excited to finally have Lewis on the show. We don't talk often so this was, in many ways, a personal catch-up that is shared with all of you. Introducing Lewis Bunn of Sageleaf Gallery of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Thank you Lewis and thank you Diary Listeners. God bless! As mentioned in the commercial, you can join Tattoo Social. I had a movie day with family today (hence my late podcast release) and this is one of two movies that I've seen lately. For a person who typically doesn't find too much reason to go to the movies, I'm rather struck by the saturation of movie-going; I'll give my take on one of the movies that I've already seen as well as let you all in on why I went (today) to see the other one. Now I feel like I need a whole other podcast recording, just for my movie reviews. I chat about post-marital-bliss and announce (terribly) the line up of what's ahead as far as interviews. Sorry Lewis (if you listen, you'll know why I apologize)! God bless you Listeners! I'm so blessed in each of you. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude and just hope this personal Diary Entry, can be enough to consider (perhaps inspire), for this week. That's all I ask. ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us! Also, get our webpage to climb on the search engine by visiting it HERE. Alright... We're back with the second half of our time with the lovely PMU artist, Jordan Kiser, of Magic Mirror Tattoo and Piercings ( in Millersville, MD). In this next part, Jordan shares some specific success stories and how deeply in-love with permanent makeup, she is. This time was all a wonderful blessing and Jordan was gracious enough to forgive me, when I stood her up (with my birthday celebrations) and had to reschedule. I'm so glad she's determined and forgiving, as we really got a great 2 part Diary Entry, from her and her family. Bless you Jordan and as always, thank you Diary Listeners! ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us! Jordan Kiser is a wonderful PMU (Permanent Makeup) artist at Magic Mirror Tattoos and Piercing, in Millersville, MD. She was awarded "Best PMU tattoo artist of 2022" and keeps aiming up. This is only Part 1 of our time with Jordan... We had a storm naturally, split our time up. I do believe it was divine. What you'll see in this 1st piece, is that Jordan has been quite encouraged to tattoo; She'd have to have been pushed to leave a dream job where she got to swim with dogs for a living. Thank you Jordan! Bless you for not giving up on this show when we stood you up the first time (complete mistake). We are so grateful to meet you and get to shout out your experience to this point. We're also so happy to have met some of your family. God bless you Jordan and all our Diary Listeners! ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us! This week is the wrap up with Wheelyum Dee, of The Wilted Rose, located in Chattanooga, TN. This whole time has been a divine blessing. "If not for" a hacker who almost hacked your host (using Wheelyum's identity) this podcast wouldn't have happened. It's crazy how we come together in this life and what's more, it's not over. We look forward to having more moments with you Wheelyum. This was a great podcast series (Diary Entry). Let's do this again. In the meantime, you rock your cotton candy and we'll try to keep providing a good show... We already have some of the best Listeners. God bless you all! ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us! Also, get our webpage to climb on the search engine by visiting it HERE. Welp, we pick right up where we left off last week with Wheelyum Dee. We learn more, not only about Wheelyum's journey into tattooing, but also his approach to a lot in life. Mostly, we can see a lot of faith in God; A lot of humility, as Wheelyum has had a lot of trials in his life. We know that you still struggle with a lot Wheelyum, but you're not alone. You got friends and fellow souls who understand the struggle. Keep smiling and you keep planting those seeds. Your heart is showing and what it shows is a lot of genuine care. God bless you Wheelyum and Diary Listeners. Without you, this show wouldn't exist and life wouldn't be half as fun. To work with Wheelyum, you'll be looking for The Wilted Rose in Chattanooga, TN. ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us! How divine an intervention that brought Wheelyum Dee into the forefront of this podcast's world? Even more divine, we are able to wish Wheelyum's daughter, Ashley, a "Happy Heavenly Birthday" today, as this first part launches on her birthday. Wheelyum honors her passing, each year by giving away a Disney tattoo. God is good in so many ways. Please make sure to block "@wheellyyum.dee" on IG (Wheelyum was hacked) and follow the real Wheelyum, over on Facebook. He's working in Chattanooga, TN at The Wilted Rose. Thank you so much for your time Wheelyum! Praise God for this intervention! God bless you Listeners! ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us! Mary Minahan is back! She's more broadly known as Miss Vampira and when this show first met Mary, she was a wee apprentice who moved from coast to coast, to pursue her passion to be a tattoo artist. Her first 2 part, Diary Entries (Ep. 90 & 91), were the perfect illustration of where Mary was... Trying her heart out but with bad audio engineering (the fault of this podcast host... Sorry Mary!) and a starter tattoo studio, only so much could happen within. Now... Mary is at her dream studio with Grit N Glory and Megan Massacre (kinda a big deal). We are touching base with this fresh start. This is super exciting and such a good episode if you're a new artist, struggling to know if you should "earn it" (because someone insinuated you hadn't) or just "go for it" (because you know what you want)?... We're so happy that Mary went for her dreams and didn't bench her potential for someone else's comfort. God bless you Mary and as always, we thank each Listener of this podcast. You can also find Miss Vampira working in upstate NY, at Woodstock Tattoo Studio. If you'd like a bit more of a slower pace and less city vibes, Mary's got you covered here too. Super exciting!!!!!!! Life is so amazing! Thank you Mary. You're an inspiration my friend. Big hugs!!!!! ****If you liked The Apprenticeship Diaries (T.A.D.), please follow us, rate, and review us!
