Hey Glowers! This is a very special episode of Go and Glow! As part of the new Go and Glow Kids & Teens program that I'm launching, I'm bringing younger girls and teens onto the platform to share their entrepreneurial and inspirational journeys, and I'm going to be building a community for them to learn about personal development and creative entrepreneurship with courses, workshops and products from the Go and Glow Academy. Madison was born prematurely and was in the NICU for 83 days while doctors told her mother, Realtor and Entrepreneur Kye Sampson, that running, jumping and becoming a ballerina would be almost impossible for Madi because of her benign paroxymal veritgo of childhood condition (BPVC). But Madi has defeated all odds and is an energetic, active and creative entrepreneur who teaches other children in her book that they shouldn't be defined by what other people tell them they can't do. Vicariously through the princess, astronaut and other characters in My Mirror and Me - Madi shows how children can be anything they want to be if they use their imagination and define themselves by what they make of their reflections in the mirror and through positive self-esteem. She hopes to empower kids to believe in themselves and to not let society put limitations on them. Amazing, right!? Hey Glowers, Today's podcast episode is an interview with San Francisco based reporter and journalist, Melissa Hellmann, who reports on news, arts, culture, health, education, politics and design, and who has traveled to over 20 countries! Melissa is a former colleague of mine from when I lived and worked in Shanghai, and at the time of this interview she's living in Hong Kong and interning for TIME Asia and reporting on Hong Kong-China relations and international affairs. In our interview, she talks about the cool stories she's worked on, some awesome backpacking-in-India tales and other traveling experiences, and the importance of chasing her dreams and having the courage to change careers to work in her passion. A great quote from Melissa in regards to working on her craft and interning before she had her dream job was, "I didn't want to spend my entire day doing something that I wasn't especially interested in, so I needed to have a few hours in the day to do something I was really proud of."
