What does your circle actually look like? Who is your community? Candace and Madi talk about the loneliness of post-college life, navigating new seasons as a wife and mom, and share the real challenges of finding and keeping the right people around you. Candace and Madi open up about moments when the people they chose to spend time with led them in the wrong direction, and the friends who pointed them back toward Jesus. Madi shares a vulnerable story about a night that went sideways and what it taught her about the power of peer influence. Candace reflects on the crazy underground Hollywood party she and Val stumbled into, and the lifelong friend who sat her down and asked the question that changed her trajectory: 'How is your walk with God? They explore what it looks like to build community in every season, whether you are newly single after college, settling into marriage, raising littles, or starting fresh in a brand new city. Candace reminds listeners that online community counts, that technology makes it possible to have deep friendships across the miles, and that you are never too old to make new friends. (Her dad at 82 proves it in the most adorable story you will hear today. They close the episode by tackling a listener question about what to do when a close friend isn't willing to forgive and make up. Their answer is full of grace, honesty, and hope for anyone carrying the weight of a broken relationship. Candace and Madi sit down for a heartfelt conversation about purity culture and their personal experiences. From listener questions about managing work stress as a new mom to a candid discussion about what it really means to live a life of purity, this episode is a combo of vulnerability and practical wisdom. Madi opens up about her personal relationship journey during high school and college, sharing how her early mindset was rooted in fear and reputation rather than a genuine love for God. She reflects on how experiencing God's grace completely transformed the way she views purity, not as a list of rules, but as a beautiful gift that leads to more of God's presence and a life of real freedom. She shares openly about past struggles with pornography, and how confession and accountability were key to walking in freedom. Candace brings her own perspective as someone nearly 30 years into marriage, broadening the conversation beyond sexual purity to include thinking more carefully about the way we talk and think. Candace and Madi tackle the hard questions: how to have a healthy sexual relationship in marriage, how to deal with public scrutiny, and what practical steps someone can take if they want to commit or recommit to a life of purity today. Whether you are single, dating, engaged, or married, this episode is for you! It is a reminder that shame doesn't get the last word for anybody. What does a vibrant prayer life really look like? In this episode, Madi Prewett Troutt sits down with Candace to talk about one of the most powerful yet often intimidating aspects of faith: prayer. Fresh from a Unite event where thousands of college students gathered for worship and baptisms, Madi shares her journey from feeling awkward praying for an hour to craving even more time with God. This conversation gets real about the practical side of prayer—how to start when you don't know what to say, why it sometimes feels like you're talking to an empty room, and what to do when life gets so busy that prayer becomes an afterthought. Candace and Madi both vulnerably share where they are in their own prayer journeys, offering encouragement that prayer isn't about having perfect words or the right formula. Whether you're recommitting to prayer after a season of drifting, navigating the challenges of a new life stage, or feeling spiritually attacked when you're pursuing God most faithfully, this episode will meet you right where you are. You'll walk away with actionable steps to deepen your connection with God and a fresh perspective on why prayer is worth prioritizing, even when it feels hard. If you've ever wondered how to make prayer less intimidating and more intimate, or if you're ready to move from discipline to delight in your time with God, this conversation is for you. Every once in a while, you meet an athlete whose presence doesn't match the roster listing. Someone listed at 5'11… but plays like she's 6'3. Someone who doesn't just score points — she controls possessions, shifts momentum, and changes the energy of a gym. That's Madi Hill.A Class of 2027 standout from Owasso, Oklahoma, Madi has already surpassed 1,000 career points and 500 rebounds — and she's still evolving. But what separates her isn't just production. It's leadership. It's versatility. It's edge.Madi has been around basketball her entire life, but the game truly became hers around age 12 when AAU competition changed everything. Traveling. Facing stronger opponents. Being challenged instead of comfortable. That exposure didn't intimidate her — it sharpened her. That's when she realized she didn't just like basketball. She loved it.On paper, “5'11 forward” might raise questions. On film, there are none.Madi rebounds like a true post presence — especially on the offensive glass. She embraces contact. Finishes through traffic. Competes on every possession. But she's not limiting herself to one identity. She understands the next level demands versatility. Her high school system has her playing more on the perimeter, developing ball handling, decision-making, and shooting consistency. She isn't waiting to adjust later. She's preparing now.One of the most defining traits of her game doesn't show up in a stat line — her voice.“I try to be the loudest on the floor because that's something nobody can take away from you.”That's leadership. She communicates. She encourages. She steadies tense moments. She brings energy without relying on trash talk. She leads through presence.Basketball has taught her communication, resilience, and a next-play mentality. Mistakes don't linger. Adversity doesn't define her. She resets and moves forward — a mindset that carries beyond sports. And she's not just a basketball athlete.Madi is also a standout volleyball player — a varsity MVP and all-district performer who picked up the sport in seventh grade and quickly made noise. Her explosiveness, timing, and competitiveness translate across sports. At the next level, she projects as a defensive specialist or libero — but no matter the court, the fire is the same.As recruiting begins to heat up, Madi knows exactly what she wants: culture and community. She values programs where teammates are present on visits, where locker room energy is real, and where relationships matter. Fit over flash. Culture over hype. She's open to leaving Oklahoma if the opportunity aligns — distance doesn't scare her. Growth excites her.Her foundation is strong. When asked about her superheroes, she didn't name a Marvel character — she named her parents. Ashley Thompson, Brandon Hill, and her stepparents Emily Hill and Matt Thompson. Her jersey number, 22, carries family legacy — worn by both her grandfather and father. That connection grounds her.Off the court, she values balance. She enjoys time with friends, many of whom are teammates. She tracks recovery with her Oura ring. Loves sushi from “In the Raw” in Tulsa. Creates her own pregame handshake routines. Her theme song? “I'll Wait For You” by Drake. When asked what's next, her answer was simple: play in college and trust God's plan.No theatrics. No noise. Just confidence.Madi Hill isn't just a stat line. She's a leader out of Owasso.A multi-sport competitor.A culture-first recruit.A forward evolving into a complete perimeter threat. And at 5'11, she's proving dominance isn't measured in inches. It's measured in impact.

Ukraine is facing one of its most severe winters since the war began, with attacks on critical infrastructure leaving hundreds of thousands of families without heating or electricity as temperatures fall below minus 20 degrees Celsius.Speaking to UN News, UNICEF's Chief of Field Operations in Ukraine, Kenan Madi, warned that children continue to bear the brunt of the crisis, particularly in major urban centres such as Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa, where central heating systems have been heavily damaged.UNICEF has responded by scaling up emergency winter assistance, including cash support to vulnerable families, expanding child protection services, and helping schools and utilities maintain essential heating and water services.UN News's Evgeniya Kleshcheva began by asking Mr. Madi to detail the situation facing families and humanitarian workers on the ground.

Why can't you get past the patterns and habits that seem to hold you back—even when you love God and want to grow? In this episode, Candace and Madi talk honestly about the small, unconfessed compromises that shape a life over time. They unpack why sin rarely starts big, the difference between falling into sin and choosing to live in it, and why the fear of the Lord is rooted in reverence, not distance. Madi shares a powerful story about double red flags at the beach and a lifeguard pleading with people to get out of the water - not to ruin their fun, but to save their lives. Candace adds practical wisdom about daily surrender, prayer, Scripture, and learning to say “no” when it matters most. They also respond to listener questions about prayer and marriage: • Sheila: “Can you talk to God like he's your best friend, or is that disrespectful?” • Rita: Advice for a couple who are new to their faith and preparing for marriage Connect with Candace and Madison Candace on Instagram @candacecbure  Follow the Podcast on Instagram @candacecameronburepodcast  Follow the Podcast on TikTok @ccbpodcast Follow Madison Prewett Troutt on Instagram: @madiprew Website: https://www.madiprew.com/ YouTube:@madiprewett2381 Sponsors For This Episode 316 Financial https://bank316.com/candace IFCJ ifcj.org GCU https://gcu.edu NOCD nocd.com WeShare https://eshare.org/candace Solo Mio https://angel.com/candace Learn more about your ad choices. What happens when your identity feels shaky—when approval, comparison, insecurity, or success starts to define who you are? In this episode, Candace sits down with Madi for a meaningful conversation about identity and the question at the center of so many struggles: What is most true about who you are?   Madi shares the story behind UNITE, the student movement that began with her mom's heartbreak over what college students were carrying in silence, and her decision to pray, walk the Auburn campus, and trust God with what felt impossible. What started as a simple act of obedience became an “only God” story: thousands gathering, spontaneous baptisms, and a ripple effect that spread to campuses hungry for hope. From there, the conversation turns deeply personal and practical. Candace and Madi respond to Jessie's listener question about staying polite when your social battery is drained, offering a reframing of boundaries as kindness: honesty, clarity, and love. Madi shares a startling story from the first night of her marriage: a scammer stole some credit card info… yikes!  Together, they unpack what it actually means to “find your identity in Christ,” starting in Genesis with the image of God, and using a memorable analogy: the moon doesn't create light, it reflects it. They also talk candidly about how easy it is to root identity in work, validation, and recognition. Candace shares a defining moment from her early adulthood that revealed how much worth she had unknowingly attached to being “somebody,” and how discovering herself as a child of God changed everything, including how she approached acting, platform, and success. This episode closes with a listener question from Christina, who shares deep insecurity and self-loathing about the way she looks. Candace responds with compassion and scripture, reminding her that feelings may be real, but that God's truth is steady. If you've ever wondered who you are beneath the roles you play, or felt pulled into people-pleasing, comparison, or shame, this episode is a grounding reminder: identity rooted in Jesus is unshakable.  For more encouragement, grab the free Dare To Be True guide at candace.com, where you'll also find a link to Madi's book, Dare To Be True. In this episode, Candace sits down with Madi Prewett Troutt for a conversation about truth that doesn't shift, freedom that doesn't fade, and why Jesus isn't just a good teacher. Candace and Madi unpack how culture sells “your truth” as freedom, but often delivers confusion and bondage instead. They talk about discernment in a time when deception feels everywhere (even online), and they bring it back to Scripture: when you find Jesus, you find truth, and when you find truth, you find freedom. They also answer two powerful listener questions: one from a mom navigating a middle- schooler who doesn't want church anymore, and one from a Christian college student who feels like she's not “Christian enough.” With honesty and grace, Candace and Madi remind listeners that salvation is a gift, not something earned, and that truth is found in Jesus. From navigating singleness without shame to recognizing the subtle lies that keep us feeling stuck, Candace and Madi explore how the enemy works—not creatively, but consistently—running the same playbook again and again. Candace reflects on seasons of feeling stuck in marriage, family life, and faith, and why honesty is often the first step toward healing.
