Have you ever heard the phrase that a woman is like a race car? It isn't that far from the truth. Our bodies were created with systems. And those systems are constantly scanning the environment for things that will press on our sexual accelerators or stomp on the brakes. The key is to figure out how to use that system to increase your sexual desire and have a little fun in the process. Let's work on releasing those brakes, pushing on those accelerators and seeing what happens!
In 2019, there were 468,342 new sexually transmitted infection (STI) diagnoses made at sexual health services in England. Of these, the most commonly diagnosed STIs were chlamydia (229,411; 49% of all new STI diagnoses), gonorrhoea (70,936; 15%) and genital warts (51,274; 11%). Between 2012 and 2019, rates of new diagnoses increased for: chlamydia: a 3.5% increase, from 394 to 408 per 100,000 population gonorrhoea: a 151% increase, from 50 to 126 per 100,000 population syphilis: a 152% increase, from 5.6 to 14.2 per 100,000 population. Over the same time period, there was a decline in new diagnoses of genital warts (a 36% decrease, from 142 to 91 per 100,000 population), and the rate of genital herpes diagnoses remained constant at 61 per 100,000 population. Overcoming What Can't be Cured is Belize Samuel's seven-year journey to overcoming the stigma of herpes. This book is transparent, inspiring, and full of real situations. The fight of living with herpes is unseen. Many individuals are living in fear and shame because of this incurable STD. This book will display Mrs. Samuel's emotions, thoughts, and actions to overcome what many individuals dream too. Mrs. Samuel will walk you through her diagnosis, pregnancy, and meeting her husband. Overcoming What Can't be Cured will display the opportunity to live beyond the herpes stigma. You're not ALONE~ Belize Samuel According to https://www.stdlifecoach.com/ (STD life coach Belize Spivey), having herpes doesn't mean you're destined to live as a spinster. You can continue dating and engaging in sexual activity. Spivey contracted it 11 years ago, and learning to live with it forced her to do a lot of self-reflection when it came to her dating habits. She discovered that she had an unhealthy relationship with sex, using it to cope with low self-esteem and to feel better about herself. Contracting herpes made her revaluate her reasons for sexual activity and do the inner work necessary to move forward. Once she was able to do that, she learned that there was life after herpes. She started her business, Overcoming, in 2015 as a way to support other Black women like herself. If your status has impacted your self-esteem, seek therapy to discuss your thoughts about your diagnosis. You can also join a support group such as Overcomers. Most importantly, communicate with potential partners, love yourself, and know that life with herpes doesn't have to mean a life without love. When it comes to communication, the way you comprehend a message could be non-threatening or directly offensive. How do you deal with the way you and strangers converse when there's a language barrier or if you both don't see eye-to-eye. Do you feel as though people allow society to determine the way you should interact through body language? The chief complaint men usually express is that women don't listen. I held the belief that I was fat because there was something "wrong with my brain" for a long time. Weight is a manifestation of trauma on the body, isn't it? If I had my life together then I'd be thin, right? I talk about how those beliefs are so prevalent in the self-help and online business world. Plus I answer questions on how to tell people to stop talking about weight and diet culture without alienating them (or losing them as your customer!). On today's episode of Mi365 Podcast, we're joined by Rob Barber, a 7th Generation African. Listen in as they talk about the indigenous tribes of the world and what we can learn from one of them in particular. He discussed the generational gap, awareness, and how he's taking an immersive deep dive and looking at their lives, their history, their relevance in the world. And how can we help? In one of his stories, Rob mentioned the biggest problem that we face as a tribe is that our culture is disappearing in front of our eyes. We don't know what to do. We don't know how to do anything about it. "Awareness is a great thing. Then people actually coming up visiting experiencing it and spreading the message. That's really important because one of the things that we want those younger generations to see is that there are people who do have a natural disposition to appreciate and love and respect their culture, who want to come out and see it and experience it. That can be a driver for its continued relevance in the modern world." – Rob Barber "I love this term reciprocal altruism. In terms of Clubhouse, it's kind of fascinating, it's because you think about tribes. There are some tribes that choose to live and operate in another way, which is maybe the opposite of all about us and we will conquer. I'm going to get wherever I can, versus, I'm going to give whatever I can. And I see that on Clubhouse as well. A lot of this kind of reciprocal altruism of “Hey what do you need? Listeners, we're back this week with Angel Aviles. In the early 90s, Angel Aviles boldly decided to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. The Bronx native moved from New York City to Hollywood, and landed roles on projects with up-and-coming directors like Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Michael Patrick King, and many others. In 1993, she nabbed a starring role in the cult classic “Mi Vida Loca,” directed and written by award-winning filmmaker Allison Anders. Her big break in the role of “Sad Girl” cemented Aviles legacy in Chicano culture.Following her acting career, Aviles became an entrepreneur. Today, she is a transformational life coach, a motivational speaker, and an advocate for social justice, leading workshops and master classes and encouraging others to live their best lives. The former actress-turned-life coach is the author of “Too Happy to Be Sad Girl,” The title is a nod to Aviles' most famous role in “Mi Vida Loca.”“Mi Vida Loca,” centers around young Mexicanas and Latinas growing up in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. It offers a slice life and the everyday struggles for a group of Latino youth -- including their friendships, romantic entanglements, and motherhood -- in a neighborhood ravaged by gang violence. For almost 30 years, the portrayal of “Sad Girl” by Aviles in this classic film has become an iconic representation of both strength and vulnerability in Chicano culture. “Mi Vida Loca” is currently available for viewing on YouTube. In 2009, Aviles suffered from depression, anxiety, and panic attacks, which began her own journey of mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. Healed and happy, Aviles is proud to say that with years of therapy, she's no longer a “sad girl,” finding herself, her sanity, and most importantly, her purpose.“Too Happy to Be Sad Girl” offers readers some valuable techniques to reduce stress, improve communication, intensify focus and help individuals become more present. The book features heartfelt and sometimes comical anecdotes of understanding, offering readers the keys to the power of forgiveness, acceptance and love. Ultimately, “Too Happy To Be Sad Girl,” is an invitation for individuals to stay present, and have an active role in the celebration of their own life.Aviles facilitates dynamic workshops across the country, helping hundreds of people connect with their inner “chingona” – that is, badass. At her company, Angel Awakened, Aviles and her team provide safe spaces for people to learn and share experiences that foster creativity, promote unity and inspire hope. When she's not at work, Aviles is a mom, a traveler, a volunteer, a tech evangelist, a food justice advocate, a mentor, a soulmate, a seeker, and, most importantly, a human being.During our conversation, we talked about:Growing up in NYC and moving to CaliforniaHer heritageChoosing to leave HollywoodWriting her bookNext steps in her life This episode is brought to you by the 30 Day Tapping Challenge with PamI created the 30 Day Tapping Challenge because I know, like me, you have limiting beliefs holding you back and preventing you from moving to the next level. Most of our suffering comes from thoughts that we let run wild in our brains. We spend a lot of time each day rehashing different conversations and situations in our mind, and we think that we're just reviewing facts. But we're not. We're reflecting on our own points of view, assuming what others think, worrying about the future, and ruminating about the past. The ancient Stoics understood that our thoughts are nothing more than stories we tell ourselves. And modern mental health professionals agree with them that we should challenge the thoughts that pop into our heads and not automatically accept them as reality. You might be thinking, “That's impossible. I have a million thoughts running through my mind. It's not in my control. I'm anxious. I'm overwhelmed.”In today's episode, I'll coach you on how to use a thought record to manage your mind so you can live a more resilient, calm, joyful, and compassionate life. I can't overstate how essential this work is to your wellbeing. If you're feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or frustrated that the changes you're trying to make aren't sticking, listen to this twice.I've also created a thought record worksheet for you.Full show notes can be found at sarahmikutel.comHello! Garments aren't sexy. It's just the truth of the matter! But we are taught that they are an outward symbol of an inward commitment so maybe it's time that we look at them differently. Symbols are arbitrary - they only hold the meaning that we assign them. So in this episode, we talk about some ways that we can change how we look at our garments, what we can do to change the way we think of them, and how we can increase our intimacy with our spouse.

I don't even know if there are diners in the Canary Islands, but I do know that this week's guest, Geneviève Pépin, slid into this diner all the way from off the coast of Morocco. Geneviève and I started off discussing the magical foods that are poutine (because she's from Quebec City) and arepas (because they are delicious). Then she told me about how she went from being a loner as a child who wanted to be an artist to getting lost in the corporate world. In her 20s she became a voracoius traveler and wound up studying and then working in China for 6 years! I loved hearing about her experience in China, what she loved about the culture there, and what surprised her. Because she has lived in many places, Geneviève calls herself a free agent of cultural norms, so naturally, I had to ask how one does that. We then discussed some of her professional careers. She talked about getting your dream job and then realizing it was not right for her and then knowing when to leave. It was fascinating hearing her talk about coming to terms with your control issues and understanding your relationship with control. And we finished up by going back and forth about, as a coach, how do you spark change? Loved this one y'all! . About the Guest: (Bio, Personal Links, Resource Links) Geneviève Pépin is passionate about helping people go from busy & stressed to happy & productive, as a result of her own journey in the professional world. She is an accredited life coach (IAPC&M), certified mindset specialist, productivity and leadership development coach (Fortune 500 companies), and improv facilitator. Before coaching, Geneviève built her career internationally in event management and marketing, living, working, and traveling in 20 countries, in four different languages. She likes to enjoy a black espresso and a good laugh with friends, practice improv comedy, and spend time with her husband and two dogs in the beautiful Canary Islands that she calls home. Connect with Geneviève and learn more: LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/GenLIProfile Website: https://nettolacoaching.com/ About the Host: Friends! Here's a somewhat stuffy bio of me: I am an author, professional speaker, coach, host, and entrepreneur. My first book, Leading Imperfectly: The value of being authentic for leaders, professionals, and human beings, is available wherever people buy books. I speak internationally to willing and unwilling attendees about authenticity, vulnerability, and leadership. My clients include American Express, General Electric (GE), Accenture, Yale University, The Ohio State University, and many others. As a speaker, I am doing the two things I loves the most: making people think and making people laugh! I host my own events multiple times a year. They are 2-day events called Living Imperfectly Live (and sometimes they are 1-day virtual events). They are a space where humans from every walk of life can come together to be part of a community on the pursuit of badassery. The goal is to help attendees start living the life we say we want to live. Alas, you're here because of an idea I had a number of years ago and didn't think I was good enough to pull it off. I finally acted on it and alas Diner Talks with James was born! As you can see from what I do in my professional life, Diner Talks is alligned with everything I believe in and teach. Reggie Seigler is a lifelong resident of the South Side Community of Syracuse NY. His interests are multi-faceted and include music performance, sound & lighting production, audio & video recording, creative writing and community building. Reggie was the co-founder, bassist and bandleader for the Soft Spoken Band, (retired after 35 years), which he used as a platform to build upon his many other interests. He is a board-member of the Stand Newspaper and writes a column called, “A Friendly Five.” The column focuses mainly upon providing exposure for local musicians beyond what little is given by the mainstream media. Reggie firmly believes that “the amount of exposure that an ‘artrepreneur' gets is directly related to how often the phone rings, and the quality of the offers on the other end of the line.”Reggie now focuses most of his creative energies on directing a Not-for-Profit collective called Joined, Artists, Musicians & Singers, Inc (JAMS). The organization is dedicated to connecting Black Artists and other Artists of Color to the regional arts-economy that they are so often disconnected from.
