We also discuss the importance of finding your origin story and connecting the dots between your perfect client and your niche. What do most entrepreneurs and small business owners crave above all else? Is it money, time, freedom, or all of the above? For most of us, it's a combination of these things. We all know what we want, but getting it is easier said than done. Simon Severino has been an entrepreneur for over 19 years. He's executed hundreds of go-to-market strategies around the globe. He scaled his consultancy so that he could retire from operations. He now helps other entrepreneurs do the same.    Simon is the founder of Strategy Sprints, an organization that offers coaching, several free tools, and results. They also certify additional Strategy Sprint coaches. Simon's new book, Strategy Sprints: 12 Ways to Accelerate Growth for an Agile Business, is all about growing revenue and scaling without sacrificing the business owner's personal life. Simon is an agile expert and uses 12 assignments or sprints to make business leaders more impactful.    We dive into his blueprint for developing a vision, finding where you make the most money, and increasing those all-important conversion rates. Simon shares what it means to be a CEO instead of an operator who is too busy on fulfillment to work on the big picture items that matter. We talk about not letting your ego get in the way, writing down the processes, and embodying your vision. Simon shares a short 90-day decision-making process that will give you fast results. We talk about growth levers that will make a massive difference in your business. 73: Exposing The Conspiracy Of Goodness Our guest on the podcast this week is Dr. Lynda Ulrich, TEDX Speaker, best-selling author, and founder of the Goodness Exchange… the home for goodness in the world. There you will find articles, podcasts, events, and a private social media community, built around celebrating countless remarkable efforts that are solving the world's most vexing problems, small and large. Out of our chaotic, seemingly doomed world, Dr. Lynda's voice arises with a strategy for action. She excludes no one and casts no stones. Instead, she points to an enormous wave of goodness and progress, well underway in the world, that she calls the "https://everwideningcircles.com/2019/04/22/conspiracyofgoodness-movement-changing-the-future/ (Conspiracy of Goodness)" of our times. Today Dr. Lynda takes us on a journey as we embrace what it means to become a great servant to humanity, to hear the beat of a different drum, and become intentional about our life. She shares her passion project which is helping others to become more intentional about their relationship with technology, as she helps us to focus on how we can get intentional about shaping the narrative we see online in just four easy shifts. Listen in as we talk through the specifics of how to help the internet show us information more aligned to what we would like to see instead of this constant stream of negativity, that is driven by and then perpetuates fear, anger, and scarcity in our world. She describes the internet as a tool, and how important it is that we decide how we want to use it. It is our opportunity and our responsibility to ensure we all do what we can do to make a difference. If you have ever felt anxious, overwhelmed, and frustrated with all the negativity online then I encourage you to listen to this deeply resonant dialogue for support. I suspect you'll learn a lot from Dr. Lynda's perspective on how we can all contribute to a conspiracy of goodness in our world. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Key Takeaways Dr. Lynda's unique perspective on the negativity in media How to train the algorithms to show you what you want to see instead of fear-based, attention-grabbing news What it means to support the Conspiracy Of Goodness How 4 easy shifts in your behavior could create an ever-widening circle of positivity Surprising statistics from the World Economic Forum regarding the percentage of people needed to bring something into the mainstream. What is the best way to build your brand, grow your business, or create change? It has a lot to do with whether you have influence or not. I'm not talking about being an “influencer” or influencing from the outside. I'm talking about what it takes to influence from within with the power of communication. My guest, Adam Stones, is the author of Influence: Powerful Communications, Positive Change, a communications playbook that guides readers through the five traits of influence.    Adam Stones is a writer and communications strategist who makes positive change and has an impact. His work focuses on strategy, brand-building, PR, and content creation. He helps entrepreneurs and changemakers build communication skills to make a more significant impact. He's a cyclist and dad and who takes that job very seriously. We talk about turning influence on its head by focusing on communication. It's easy to communicate but hard to connect. Connection is where the real change happens.   We talk about moving from a passive to an active mindset. We touch on the importance of being invested in the future and being powered by purpose. We talk about putting your why into everything you do. Adam walks us through the five core traits of influential communicators. We talk about storytelling and using the AIDA or attention, interest, desire, and action copywriting technique. We also talk about how useful it is to capture your story in a single sentence. Adam touches on his ten golden rules for behavioral change communication, the concept of OSEP or owned, shared, earned, paid, and so much more.     And be sure to subscribe to The Self-Employed Life in Apple podcasts or follow us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts so you don't miss an episode.   Everything you need can all be found at jeffreyshaw.com    Adam Stones thank you so much for being here!   Remember, you might be in business FOR yourself but you are not in business BY yourself.  Be your best self. I'm an entrepreneur, TEDx Speaker, global mentor, author, investor, and a proud Army Veteran. Early on in life, I almost called it quits. Fueled by childhood trauma and flashbacks, I reached a breaking point and considered ending my life. Had I done so, I would've become another statistic. Another young Hispanic woman fallen victim, due to child sexual abuse. But I didn't, instead one day I cried out to God for help, and He answered my simple prayer in a miraculous way. Since that day, I've never had another flashback again, and I seized the opportunity to transform myself into the new woman I could now imagine. A powerful woman full of faith, hope and love, no longer shackled by anger, fear or shame. I didn't know it at that time, but I was cultivating a teachable strategy to inspire anyone to become enthusiastic about change, to find their Divine identity, purpose, and power. I've been doing it for over 20 years in various capacities. Today, I help women, conscious businesses and organizations rethink how to integrate Spirituality into their everyday lives or culture, so they can thrive. I created The Divine Quotient™, which is a practical and repeatable methodology, to inspire change, growth, and happiness, even amid chaos. In my off time, I'm planning my next travel adventure, out in nature, exercising, reading, writing, finding foodie places, local coffee shops, watching Netflix or funny TikTok videos, enjoying time with my family and friends or planning how to change the world.

I'm 57 and I'm really proud of my body. I'm proud of the life I've created, and it's thanks to menopause. Menopause taught me that it's not just a phase… It's a privilege of a long life. Privilege of a long life is such a great thing that even though I had such an existential crisis, it brought me to learning my own personal mastery. When you start to find your personal “Why” you begin to do things for yourself and not to please other people. That's when you start to glow. I talk about more of that with TEDx speaker, podcaster, beauty biohacker, and Clubhouse and Instagram influencer, Elizabeth Molina. What's Discussed in This Episode: [0:00] Introduction [3:00] The shame around menopause and ending the stigma around it [5:43] Why menopause is not a dirty word [7:15] The beauty standards for women [9:49] What holistic beauty is and aging gracefully [12:23] Elizabeth's TEDx story and how she survived domestic violence [15:46] How personal mastery leads to a happy life [17:00] The different ages to fall into menopause [22:00] The Molina Glow [25:38] How to embrace transition [29:20] What surrender looks like [33:05] The “Why” behind Elizabeth's beauty routine About the Guest: Elizabeth Molina is a TEDx Speaker, Beauty Guru, Podcaster, Expert on all things Beauty, and Founder of Molina Glow. This week on The Business Couch with Dr. Yishai, I had Krystal Covington, CMO of Go Lead Consulting, and founder of the Women of Denver business organization. Krystal shared incredible insights on adaptability and how to handle lessons and ideas that are commonly shared but hold us back. Krystal also talked about lessons she learned the hard way about reaching out for help and developing partnerships that have been the lifeblood of her survival and thriving. Along the way, Krystal shared why it is so important to have people you can struggle with, why it is important to support each other in tough times, and how it can be paid back tenfold – even when you do not see the direct path ahead. If you haven't yet, go back and listen to episodes 190 and 191 to learn from the insights and journey of an award-winning business strategist, TEDx Speaker, and successful entrepreneur. At the end of our conversation, Krystal asked me why entrepreneurs have such a hard time breaking bad business habits that they learn and pick up in their prior corporate careers, and what makes it so hard to create change. So today, I'm talking about why entrepreneurs find it so difficult to change and switch tactics when something they learned in the corporate world isn't working in their own business. I also talk about how to make sure you as an entrepreneur and leader don't stay stuck with blinders on when a strategy isn't working. This episode is brought to you by Adaptability Coaching. I come from violence; my father beat my mother on a regular basis. Eventually, I moved out and fulfilled my dream of becoming a dancer. I created my 1-woman show, “Home Sweet Home?”. I play different women being abused and then she goes to her good place, that's where the dancing comes in but then she is pulled back into the terror of being abused once again. The show ends very strong, very empowering. Extensive research was done for the show and I couldn't believe the alarming statistics.  I decided to make this into a business and Osso Safe was born.  I wanted to provide products and services that can really positively impact people's lives, whether they are going through violence or not.  My personal and professional experience with the subject allows me to bring a unique and holistic approach by combining education and technology to promote safety and prevent violence in the workplace, schools, and in particular, in places of residence.   Since I am also a professional dancer/teacher, I use my performance abilities to educate on the subject.  A struggle is that we absolutely cannot solve the magnitude of this problem by treating this as a charity, as a nonprofit. Victims neither need pity nor handouts. They need solutions, they need resolution, which is why we focus on 3 markets: schools, workplaces, and residences. Our approach is indeed a practice and I am bridging the real estate industry with Osso Safe. In doing so, this will change the face of residency, where safety/nonviolence will become a required standard condition of residency. Period.  This is good for business, good for residency. Abuse should not be a part of anyone's residency, ever.  Just Because You Are A Parent, It Doesn't Give You The Right To Abuse Your Child.  The Osso Safe approach to diminishing and preventing home violence in schools, workplaces, and properties, focuses on the fact that this is indeed a practice.  There is a direct connection between violence and pornography.   The “legal” system makes horrible matters even worse, in that, it does what is in the worst interest of the abused child versus what is in the best interest of the abused child.  An example of what constitutes a good relationship is to allow your kids to vent when they are upset and then speak to them as calmly as possible; this is both healing for the child and the parent.  We would also like to focus on Osso Safe's vision for the prevention of home violence and the real estate industry. We also talk about the importance of having money in the bank and how it can buy you time when things become uncertain.   Too many people focus on sales instead of profit. We talk about why this isn't the best strategy. We also have a great conversation about how people work against themselves. Hint: have the courage to raise or even double your rates. We talk about how success and personal development are directly correlated. This conversation is peppered with real business stories and mindset shift strategies that will make a difference. We also talk about systems, organization, and the best place to apply your valuable time and effort.    And be sure to subscribe to The Self-Employed Life in Apple podcasts or follow us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts so you don't miss an episode.   Everything you need can all be found at jeffreyshaw.com    Gail Doby thank you so much for being here!   Remember, you might be in business FOR yourself but you are not in business BY yourself.  Be your best self.
