This episode gets into why now is the best time to powerfully date — and why how you show up in your dating life is already changing the rest of your life, whether you realize it or not. Inside this episode: Your brain fears rejection the same way it fears death. That's not a dramatic spiral. It's neurobiology, and understanding it changes how much you let fear stop you. Women are socialized not to want things. Wanting a relationship, for your own pleasure and heart, is already a radical act. The way you do one thing is the way you do everything. Playing small in your dating life is costing you at work, in your friendships, and in how much of your actual life you claim. Powerfully dating isn't grinding through the apps until you're numb. It's owning what you want, knowing your value, and showing up with a strategy. Work with Lily:

Together, they dig into the power of comprehensive biomarker testing, personalized health protocols, and the functional, root-cause approach to navigating menopause, hormone imbalance, and long-term vitality.Kristy shares how Cenegenics uses over 270 blood biomarkers alongside cognitive and physical assessments to build truly individualized health strategies — moving far beyond the one-size-fits-all advice most women have been handed for decades. You'll hear why continuous monitoring matters, how lifestyle factors like sleep, nutrition, and stress are non-negotiable foundations, and why hormones and peptides — while powerful tools — should support a solid wellness framework, not replace one.If you've ever felt dismissed by your doctor, confused by conflicting hormone health advice, or simply ready to take a proactive, empowered approach to aging well, this episode is your roadmap.Kristy Berry is the CEO of Cenegenics, the world's largest and most experienced performance health and age management medicine practice, with 20 U.S. locations and 8 international centers. Luke 9:1–10 9 And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. 3 And he said to them, "Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. 4 And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5 And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them." 6And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. 7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had been raised from the dead, 8 by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the prophets of old had risen. 9 Herod said, "John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?" And he sought to see him. 10 On their return the apostles told him all that they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart to a town called Bethsaida.

Guest Karen Berman, Ph.D., Chaired the Department of Theatre and Dance at Georgia College and previously taught for 15 years at Georgetown University. She is Dean Emerita, College of Fellows of the American Theatre; Past President of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education; Director of 150 Holocaust and other theatre productions; and winner of the Georgia Governor's Award for the Arts and the Hillel Heroes Award. Karen is co-Artistic Director of Washington Women in Theatre. She is the co-author with Dr. Gail Humphries of the two-volume work, Stories of the Holocaust: Art for Healing and Renewal. Co-host Irene Stern Frielich was a guest on Episode 370: "Walking Where History Happened: A Daughter's Holocaust Journey." Irene is the daughter of a German Jewish Holocaust survivor—but for much of her life, the story remained unspoken. In 2017, after rediscovering her father's testimony, Irene set out to physically retrace his escape route from Nazi Germany through his survival in Holland. The result was a journey of reconciliation and healing. Her award-winning memoir, Shattered Stars, Healing Hearts, explores trauma, courage, and connection across generations. Summary In this episode, Jeff and co-host Irene Stern Frielich speak with Dr. Karen Berman about the role of the arts in Holocaust education and remembrance. Dr. Berman discusses her five-year project to co-edit two volumes featuring 33 contributors who explore how theater, music, visual art, and film illuminate the Holocaust and its aftermath. The books argue that the arts can foster empathy, healing, and social responsibility while inspiring people to become "upstanders" who actively oppose hate and injustice. The conversation explores how artistic expression functioned as both resistance and survival during the Holocaust. A powerful example is the performance of Verdi's Requiem in the Theresienstadt concentration camp, where imprisoned singers used music as a form of spiritual defiance against their captors. The discussion also examines how Holocaust education is evolving. Scholars and educators are increasingly shifting from purely historical instruction toward approaches that engage students emotionally and morally through storytelling, performance, and immersive technologies such as virtual reality and holographic survivor testimony. Ultimately, the episode emphasizes that art has the power to humanize history, deepen empathy, and transform audiences into witnesses. By connecting personal stories with creative expression, educators and artists can ensure that Holocaust memory remains meaningful—and that the lessons of history inspire moral action today. Justice Scalia and the Unitary Executive Theory. Reflecting on Justice Antonin Scalia's legacy, Professor John Yoodetails the concept of the unitary executive. Scalia powerfully argued that the Constitution vests all executive power directly in the president, warning that independent agencies fragment federal authority, diminish democratic accountability, and disrupt the essential separation of powers. #151910 BOOK OF MINES
Our gifts and talents are a powerful way to share God's love with others. Today's guest, artist Eva Timothy, shares from her life experience that when we humbly reach out to God through prayer, with the desire to glorify Him, He will help those gifts shine. As women, we contain multitudes, each of us at different life stages and varied life circumstances. Our loving Heavenly Father knows where we're at and what we can give, which is precisely why our individual traits, gifts, and talents are exactly what God needs from us. We don't need to start a new hobby or change our personality. When we channel our unique gifts through the lens of God's love then, like the loaves and fishes, our efforts and talents are multiplied, bringing more light and hope to the world around us. Eva is an award-winning fine art photographer. She was one of the first Latter-day Saint converts in Bulgaria following the fall of the Berlin Wall. Over her life, she has developed a lifelong passion for light—both as a physical medium and as a symbol of divine inspiration. Eva blends artistry, enthusiasm, and spirituality to explore how creativity shapes our lives, encouraging us all to nurture our creative gifts and to look for the light. Prayer doesn't have to be overwhelming or mysterious. Like a cordless drill that needs to be plugged into power, our spiritual lives need connection to God through prayer. The greatest paradox of prayer is that our weakness becomes our strength - when we feel most inadequate, we're positioned for powerful spiritual breakthroughs. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we don't know what to pray, while Jesus intercedes for us in heaven. Through consistent prayer, we grow in love for God, discover our calling, and find peace that guards our hearts and minds. Building a powerful prayer life requires embracing dependence on God, requiring His presence, and accepting the Holy Spirit's work in our lives. ' In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God's will. And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose, ' Romans 8:26-28
Have you ever heard that menopause is like a second puberty? I think that idea goes beyond the hormonal changes and into something deeper: our identity. We're no longer considered “young,” but identifying as “old” doesn't sit right either. As women in midlife, many of us are coming into our power. After decades of raising kids, taking care of family, navigating marriage and career, we finally have time and energy to turn inward. And we're not done living. In this episode, I share my own struggle with this identity shift and the conclusions I've come to for myself. My hope is that by sharing my story, it helps someone who's wrestling with the same questions.Enjoy the show!Send me your thoughts

OVERVIEW: In this episode of Cheers to Your Success, I'm joined by JJ Virgin—Triple Board Certified Nutrition Expert, Fitness Hall of Famer, and 4-time New York Times bestselling author—for a conversation every woman over 35 needs to hear. JJ is leading a global movement away from outdated weight-loss dogma and toward what actually works in midlife: building muscle, increasing strength, and improving metabolic health. Together, we break down what it really means to age powerfully—not gracefully—and why so many women feel stuck despite “doing everything right.” We dive deep into: Why muscle mass is the foundation of metabolism, fat loss, and longevity The biggest mistakes women make when trying to lose weight in their late 30s, 40s, and beyond Why chasing the scale, calories burned, or endless cardio is holding you back What to focus on instead if you want a strong, energized, resilient body How to shift your mindset from shrinking your body to building it This is an empowering, science-backed conversation that cuts through the noise and gives you clarity on where to put your energy if you want results that last. If you're tired of dieting harder, training more, and feeling frustrated with your body, this episode will change how you think about health, fitness, and aging. In this episode of the Living to 100 Club Podcast, host Dr. Joseph M. Casciani speaks with J.J. Caruncho, founder of Sanctavia, an innovative longevity training system designed to help people move, think, and age more powerfully. Drawing from a background that spans dance, martial arts, and healthcare, J.J. explains how a prevention-focused upbringing shaped his approach to aging well. This approach centered on anti-frailty, functional movement, joint protection, and the brain-body connection. Rather than chasing intensity or exhaustion, Sanctavia emphasizes intelligent mechanics, visual cue training, stress resilience, and lifelong adaptability. The conversation explores how older adults can build and maintain strength, balance, and confidence well into later life. Our guest explains why aging powerfully is as much a neurological and psychological process as a physical one. Interestingly, J.J. also discusses how Sanctavia's intuitive online platform makes advanced training accessible to older adults. This is done through customizable levels, brain-based instruction, and integrated meditation and breathwork programs. This episode will resonate with anyone interested in aging well. It addresses preventing falls, maintaining independence, and rethinking what's possible as we grow older. Mini Bio J.J. Caruncho is a polymath, protector, Longevity & Body Mechanics Pioneer, Anti-Falling™ Researcher, master of learning, and Systems Builder. “We get to rely on God as our Source of stability. That stability doesn't come from having ‘all of our ducks in a row' per se, it's from trusting in THE Source of stability, God.” In this episode, Taylor Thurlow interviews Mr. and Mrs. Jared Torell (Nancy), two ministers with The Way International, and they talk about walking powerfully through change. Having recently gone through many changes, including marriage, graduating from The Way's minister training program, and successfully doing five moves in five years, Jared and Nancy share on some of their experiences with trusting God through transitions. This episode is chock-full of helpful tips, scripture verses, positive ways to think about change, and personal stories that can help us remember that no matter what is going on around us, God knows it all, and He is our Source of stability. Being “powerful” and being “likeable” aren't opposites — they're a killer combo when we stop contorting ourselves into someone else's definition. In this episode, we get tactical about communicating with influence and warmth, minus the people-pleasing or performative toughness. Our guest today, Dr. Kate Mason, PhD, is an executive communications coach and former Silicon Valley operator who helps women leaders at companies like Google, Netflix, Uber, and Microsoft communicate with influence and ease. A world-champion debater, she's the author of Powerfully Likeable—a smart, funny field guide for navigating credibility, warmth, and authority without playing small or playing a part. Kim Scott (author of Radical Candor) calls it “compelling, compassionate, and funny,” which tracks. We cover: Ditching the fake either/or: what “powerfully likeable” looks and feels like (for you), and how to build from what already works in your communication. Finding your calm, “unruffled” baseline so you can lead the room instead of reacting to it — especially when emotions are high. The downside of over-preparation (hello, rigidity) and how to use Kate's lightweight prep approach so we stay flexible and persuasive. Fight / flight / freeze / fawn at work — how to spot your threat response, interrupt it in real time, and re-engage with credibility. Practical scripts and moves to de-escalate, ask for what we need without apology, and buy time when our “fight” response wants the mic. Debate lessons that actually help at work: choose the win you need today, get curious for better data, and frame the shared goal so you're on the same side of the problem. “Imposing syndrome” (being afraid to ask) vs. imposter syndrome — and tiny language shifts that stop us from undercutting ourselves. We also nerd out on authenticity without the buzzword BS and how to integrate our sharpest strengths with our actual personality. Thank you to our sponsors! 7/8. Professor Emily Wilson's translation of The Iliad powerfully conveys the vivid and often gory reality of Bronze Age combat. The poem meticulously details how men died, showing the brutality of warfare. A crucial aspect of Homeric battle culture, as highlighted by Wilson, is the understanding that once a warrior is dead, their body and armor must be protected and treated honorably. The desecration of corpses, like Achilles dragging Hector's body, is a profound act of humiliation, intended to further punish the enemy beyond death. 1599 ARMS FOR ACHILLES
