REV. GEORGIETTE MORGAN-THOMAS owner of American Hat's LLC

Hat making was once one of the biggest industries in the United States. Factories flourished around the country and could be found in cities from coast to coast. Philadelphia was no different. In fact, Philadelphia was home to dozens of factories, including the manufacturers of the famous Stetson hat. Today, many of those factories no longer exist. Factories have moved to other countries to take advantage of cheaper labor, while others have simply stopped producing hats to produce other products. The lone surviving millinery in Philadelphia throughout this period in history was S&S Hat Company on North 12th Street.American Hats LLC, purchased S&S hat factory, which has a rich history that dates back to 1923. In that year S&S Hats began selling hats to department stores and small boutiques. S&S designed and manufactured everything from respectable church-going hats with beads, feathers and ribbons to basic straw hats to groovy leopard print hats. S&S also did business with large stores like Strawbridge’s, the May Company, and J.C. Penney. Much like the S&S of old, American Hats LLC was created with the same idea and goal in mind. That goal is simple, “provide a quality product and create an outstanding customer experience!”The creators of American Hats LLC take great pride in respecting the history of the industry and the traditions of all companies like S&S Hats. For example, using the highest quality materials, we provide our customers with jaw-dropping products, which are made right here in the USA. We also employ individuals who are experienced in fashion and design, have a mastery of the millinery arts, and care greatly about the quality of the work they perform. We also take pride in, and strive to provide a great overall customer experience. American Hats LLC looks forward to leading the way in revitalizing the millinery industry and rejuvenating people’s desire to once again be fashionable and wear outstandingly stylish hats. The Rev. Georgiette Morgan-Thomas, Owner of American Hats LLC, is an avid hat wearer. The Reverend not only has a passion for wearing them, but also loves seeing other individuals bringing back the hat as part of everyday fashion. She is invested in ensuring that other people have an enjoyable experience wearing our hats. Whether it’s providing customers with tips on how to wear hats or on what styles and accessories are compatible, she is always willing to offer her assistance to make certain her customers are well informed and her knowledge on those subjects is immeasurable. We look forward to creating a pleasurable experience for you here at American Hats LLC.
