When you chomp into the Pastrami Reuben at Hershel’s, you’ll understand why locals refer to this place as “the best Jewish deli outside New York.” From its old-fashioned signage and counter seating to its made-from-scratch menu items—including impossibly juicy, house-cured pastrami—every detail oozes authenticity. And it’s no wonder, considering that Hershel himself, a Polish native, was a chef at New York City’s legendary Katz’s Deli for more than 40 years. In 2000, with the help of close friend and business partner Andrew Wash, Hershel’s nephew, Stephen Safern, opened the deli in 2000 to honor his uncle’s legacy and Eastern European heritage. At Hershel’s East Side Deli, Safern and his team serve up a full assortment of Jewish deli classics, including matzo ball and chicken noodle soup, latkes, kugel, hot dogs, potato knishes, bagels with lox, New York–style cheesecake, and, of course, hot deli sandwiches stuffed with homemade corned beef, pastrami, or brisket. Their food is made from scratch daily, the meat is carved to order, and the staff are happy to honor special requests—“just how Uncle Hirsh would have wanted it done.”To view the menu, click here: http://places.singleplatform.com/hershels-east-side-deli-market/menu?ref=google
Dave & Bex sink their choppers into the best thing money can buy, the corned beef sandwich on rye. Hear and smell the difference between an east coast corned beef on rye and a midwest corned beef on rye!! And dont miss Daves slightly graphic description of his body in a speedo.
Knishes, a Jewish delicacy! Theres nothing like sinking your teeth or dentures into a hot, sexy, steamy knish.......potato, onions, schmalz and some grieven, can bring every human pure happiness. Dave & Bex smothered their knishes with their own personal mustard selections and lapped up every last bite!Dave talks of his entrancing coney island, knish conversation and of course, so much more. So grab your favorite blow up and snuggle in for the show!
The everything bagel and schemer, a gift from GD to the Jewish people and beyond. Not sure how anyone would love this combo. Dave had a different approach to retrieve his morning bagel, also gaving Bex an interesting surprise on the show, actually a couple of times!! So sit back and enjoy the show.

Growing up the daughter of a music teacher, Kat Perkins has been singing, dancing, and performing for just about as long as she can remember. Coming from a town that only recently went from “unincorporated” to 281, with the nearest theater or rock show hundreds of miles away, it took a lot of determination for that little girl to pursue her dreams. Almost as soon as she stepped off the stage at her high school graduation, at just 18 years old, she packed her bags, said good bye to her family, and traveled 600 miles east to Minneapolis, MN – where her undeniable drive and passion for performance shined through in her unforgettable stage presence. Kat began to carve out a place for herself on both the music and theater stages of the Twin Cities. After signing a record deal, and beginning to work and share stages with some of the music industries biggest acts (Guns and Roses, Bon Jovi, etc), Kat’s career began to reach heights she’d only dreamed of as her years of hard work began to pay off. It was at that point that Kat began to feel tension in her throat, tension that would end the career she’d dreamed of and worked towards her entire life. In Spring of 2011, Kat was diagnosed with a vocal fold cyst, requiring surgery that would prevent her from continuing on in the only career she’d ever known. Unwilling to let this set back change her attitude, Kat began to pursue her second passion, which was working with children, and she began nannying. After nearly two years of nannying, Kat voice began to heal and she began to sing again. She volunteered to do a tour for members of the United States Military in the Middle East, on a trip that would change her life in more ways than she’d ever imagined. During a layover in the middle of the night in the Amsterdam airport, Kat began to sing Adele’s “Someone Like You.” The video made its way online, going viral, and gaining the attention of the producers of NBC’s The Voice, who requested she come on the hit TV show. Kat’s time on The Voice was unforgettable, as she made it all the way to the finals. Maroon 5 singer, and coach, Adam Levine, proclaimed Kat to be “… hands down one of the best singers we’ve ever had…” She’s since continued traveling the country performing. Her latest singles have climbed to the top of the iTunes charts and she’d been the top selling rock artist on iTunes five times. She’s also begun speaking, giving over 300 presentations in the past 18months alone, sharing her message of living a Fearless life, the pursuit of dreams, and making a positive impact on the world. Max Sparber was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1969 and adopted after 11 weeks by a middle class Jewish family in the St. Louis Park suburb of Minneapolis. As a child, he grew up a few blocks from where the Coen brothers had grown up, and was baby-sat by both Dan and Matthew Wilson, both later of the band Trip Shakespeare (as well as Semisonic, in the case of Dan Wilson). Sparber's family had some links to the world of entertainment - his mother is cousins with Judd Hirsch, while his father is a distant cousin of Academy Award-winning composer Lalo Schifrin.Sparber attended public schools throughout his childhood, but for a tw-year stint at a shirt-lived Jewish high school. He attended the University of Minnesota, from which he never attained his degree (at first in Jewish Studies, later in theater). In his early twenties, Sparber moved to Los Angeles. Quickly broke and jobless, he spent three months in Citrus House, a homeless shelter run by the Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center of Los Angeles, although Sparber is not gay. This experience would continue to inform his later work as a playwright, which has often addressed gay themes. Through the Teen Canteen, another program for homeless youth, Sparber became part of a theater program begun by actress Shelley Winters (started as the result of a promise by Winters to Marilyn Monroe). Sparber quickly became the program's writer, penning two plays, both of which were extensively workshopped but never produced. The program included as one of its organizers actress Clare Carey from the long-running television comedy Coach. After several years of political work as part of a thriving anarchist scene in Minneapolis, Sparber moved to Omaha, Nebraska, in the late Nineties. Here he became involved in the Blue Barn Theatre, a well-known regional theater that makes frequent use of Omaha talent such as 'Jill Anderson', Hughston Walkinshaw, and Tim Siragusa. Sparber pened a play for the Blue Barn titled "Minstrel Show; Or, the Lynching of William Brown, which retold the true story of a 1919 murder of an African American man in Omaha through the eyes of two itinerant blackface performers. Despite being denounced by state senator Ernie Chambers, the play was a hit, and has since been produced extensively throughout the United States, including two New York productions.Sparber has worked as a journalist and editor for the past decade, including having been the editor-in-chief of Omaha's newsweekly, The Reader, as well as reviewing theater for City Pages in Minneapolis for three years. He has occasionally made forays into writing and acting for film.

Holiday HostageA comedic short film about a dysfunctional Jewish family held hostage on Thanksgiving. You think your family is messed up? HOLIDAY HOSTAGE is a comedic short film that tops your family’s dysfunction. It’s Thanksgiving night and all Abby and David want to do is quickly eat their turkey and ditch their overbearing “still has their umbilical cords” Jewish mother. Before they can make their getaway, Gary, a deranged ex-convict, breaks in and takes the family hostage.Tensions are high, family secrets are revealed, and Gary just forced everyone to go the bathroom with him. At least Grandma is here to calm the family down. Just kidding, she’s batshit crazy. Can this family make peace with one another before they’re offed? Oy vey!Abby & David have been doing well in their acting careers, but neither of them are the type to sit around and wait for the next opportunity. That’s why they decided to do it themselves and create their own passion project. And not just any project, but a top notch short film that will be competitive at top film festivals.https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/holiday-hostage-funny#/

Raw Sugar makes adventurous and imaginative projects driven by women. Raw Sugar's co-founders Rebekah Rentzel and Jenny Moeller met while interning in at the regional theater in Portland, Maine in 2009. There, they developed their own fun, physical storytelling style in the show "It's Only Funny to Us". Native Minneapolitian Jenny lured Rebekah to the Twin Cities with the siren song of collaborative theater and friendship. Rebekah Rentzel is co-artistic director of Raw Sugar and a theater educator. She works in the Twin Cities with Bedlam Theater, Theater Unbound, Mixed Blood, Teatro del Pueblo, Barebones Halloween Extravaganza, and Wheel Sexy Cabaret. With a campy-cardboard aesthetic, Rebekah makes radically ridiculous theater that pushes the boundaries of feminism and comedy. Jenny Moeller is co-artistic director of Raw Sugar, co-founder of Babes Into Telling Stories and a freelance theater artist. She has worked in almost all aspects of theater and has a huge passion for helping others see their vision to reality. Jenny believes that all people have a story to tell and we can learn from sharing together. Jenny's core is made up of bad puns and too much coffee.
