Jesus and Coffee

Who doesn't need renewal at this point?! MB and PB break down Psalms 51:10 in four parts; asking Jesus to purify our hearts, renew our spirits, restore us of the joy of His salvation, and grant us all a willing spirit for what's to come. None of us are immune to sin! 

MB and PB chat about Romans 12:12, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." This verse is simple but impactful. Remember, we are only human and this is a journey, so we might not always act accordingly to Romans 12:12, but this is a reminder of how we as believers are set out to respond. Let's remember that our afflictions are merely temporary, to pray through the storms and rejoice because we have hope in Him! 

It's time to wake up, friends! We don't have time to put Jesus on snooze. As believers, we are called to do things, even when we don't want to.  It would be the perfect time for us all to accept His wake up call and see what He has in store for us. 

Sometimes it's so hard to see past the dirty dishes in the sink to reflect on  God's glory outside of your kitchen window. We become so fixated on the problems surrounding us, that we overlook God's beauty. God will reveal himself in due time. Remember...remain steady in Him throughout your journey. 

Who is a blessing to you in your life? Are you a blessing to others? MB and PB discuss how some people have always been a blessing to them, no matter the circumstances. God desires for you to shine your light and be set apart from the world. We hope that you find this message as an encouragement to continue pouring our your love on others. 

Sometimes the struggle is real. Sometimes we face setbacks that we didn't anticipate. These are the moments that help us understand God's glory under the earthly fire. As believers, we are not immune to trials, but we can experience God's glory through our tribulations. We are unable to understand and experience His glory without a blemish. 

Our words can provide hope to others. A small act of encouragement could make or break a loved one. It's easier and in our nature to discourage. Encouraging another person will take time, effort and patience. We are instructed in 2 Timothy 4:2 " encourage with great patience and careful instruction" We should build each other up and choose our words wisely. 

How do we find contentment in a discontent world? It's simple - Jesus. Our lives will change for the better if we put Jesus before anything else.  We will remain in a cycle of discontentment if we put ourselves or other things before Him. Our perspective, our thoughts and our actions will become more Christ-like when we realign our focus. We encourage you to find contentment by pursuing Jesus, not our culture. 

It's so easy to tap into our anger emotion, but it's much harder to show love and kindness. Respect, love and honoring one another are spiritual disciplines we acquire through God. It's not always easy to bite our tongues, but showing and responding in Christ's love is bigger than being correct. Remember to generate love in all that you do!

Are you gripping God harder than your circumstances? It's only human for us to grip our circumstances over the power of our God. God's grip on us doesn't waiver. He's our seatbelt when our roller coaster life seems out of control. God's got you even when you loosen your grip on Him. 

Aren't you glad we are all viewed the same in God's eyes? We are all sinners. God doesn't compare our sins and does not view one sin as greater than the other. Paul's story is powerful as he turned from crucifying believers to sharing the gospel to any and everyone. Paul wanted everyone to hear of his faith in Jesus.  Redemption is possible for all of us.  Let's be a people of hope, encouragement and sharing the news of how powerful our God is. 

Plan A is our superior choice. We rarely are satisfied with Plan B. We all have a hard time letting go of what we think is best for us. God knows what's best for you even when you do not agree. He doesn't see Plan B as a less than. He views it as your plan specific to you and your circumstances. 

Honestly...it's hard to love the difficult people. It's hard to habitually seek Him in a chaotic world. It's hard to approach life with a God's lens all the time. We have to nix our fear of thinking we cannot approach him if we have sinned. It's natural for us.  You're more than worthy. You're a child of God. You're pleasing God more than you know. 

It's so easy to listen to a GPS when you're headed to a vacation destination.  You listen so diligently in the car to ensure you do not miss a turn. What if we listened that closely to God's direction over our lives? We have to humble ourselves to a place where we can begin to listen to His voice. Once we are able to listen, we have the option to obey and serve His purpose in our daily lives.  

We all could use a healthy dose of patience. The Holy Spirit provides us an opportunity to persevere and remain steadfast through any circumstance.  Continue to focus on what God is doing in your life when you're waiting on a response from Him. We encourage you to put up your #Jesusumbrella when negativity consumes your thoughts. You are what your thoughts are!

2020 is so overwhelming. Let's rise above the hopeless emotions we are all experiencing. God is in control no matter the circumstances. We're talking Jesus 2020, VP Holy Spirit -- Campaign "Pray. Worship. Praise. Repeat." Be the hope in the world when times are hopeless!

Have you ever felt like you just can't win? You try, try some more and eventually feel like giving up? Well, we have all been there. Focus on a solution, do not hyper-focus on the challenge.  It's important to recognize the issue, grow from the setback and turn your lesson into an opportunity. You never know the character He's building within you right in this moment. 

We're talking selflessness, character and integrity. We all desire to have character like Ruth, selflessness like Naomi and integrity like Boaz. We each are in a position to serve others. We could all use a dose of these admirable traits. 

We're talking about re-birth. Not a physical re-birth, a spiritual re-birth. Salvation is such an easy topic to dismiss, but it's more important than any other decision. The gift is yours -- just open it, embrace it, and walk in the light. Nobody has time for darkness. 

What is peace? It's hard to find and know peace  in a world that is so impatient and chaotic. Jesus found a quiet spot to pray (Mark 1:35). He couldn't be alone for long because Simon and others went to find him. Our lives are consumed by worldly distractions; emails, the demands of life, and our phones. There is little time to find peace -- We have to make a conscious effort, every single day to find peace in Him. 

It's time for coffee! Who really has time to battle it out everyday? Trials happen to each of us, but it's how we respond and push forward when they do show up. MB and PB discuss their everyday challenges and how consistent faith seems to always prevail during times of difficulty. It's not easy, but it is completely possible with Him. 

Praising God is essential. MB and PB discuss different ways to praise God. We should praise Him in all seasons of life whether you're in a season of neutrality, hopelessness or overwhelming joy. Praising God lifts you and others around you. Let's consider being a light in the middle of the darkness of the world. It's time to praise UP!

MB & PB are two best friends who encouraged each other to begin a podcast. They consume too much coffee. They share how good God is because they have been in the same pit that you've been in.
