Megan chats with Emily Christensen about turning strategic Instagram growth into a six figure blog in under a year. Emily Christensen is a sourdough baker, educator, and food blogger behind Country Roads Sourdough. What started as selling bread locally and teaching community classes grew into a profitable food blog after she leveraged Instagram to build trust and drive traffic. Emily monetized her blog within a year and now helps home bakers make sourdough feel simple, approachable, and realistic for everyday life. Emily went from teaching local sourdough classes and selling bread out of a tiny kitchen to qualifying for Raptive in just a few months. This episode breaks down exactly how she used Instagram to drive serious traffic, build multiple revenue streams, and treat her blog like a real business from day one. If you are an experienced food blogger wondering whether Instagram is still worth your time, this conversation gives you a clear answer and a practical roadmap. Key Topics Discussed: -Social media is a discovery engine, not the end product. -Viral content often comes from unique angles, not high search volume keywords. -Repeat the hooks and formats that already work. -Publish the blog post first, then drive traffic from Instagram. -Build systems and hire help before burnout forces you to. -Treat your blog like a real business from the start. What happens when vintage American steel meets modern performance engineering? This week on The Collector Car Podcast, I sit down with Daniel van Doveren of Vigilante 4x4 to talk about the booming world of high-end Jeep restomods. Vigilante has quietly become one of the most respected names in the space, transforming classic Willys and early Jeep models into fully reengineered machines with modern drivetrains, refined interiors, and show-stopping craftsmanship. Daniel shares how Vigilante 4x4 approaches restoration versus reinvention, what collectors are really looking for in today's vintage 4x4 market, and why properly executed restomods are earning serious respect alongside traditional concours restorations. We also dive into: The rising demand for classic SUVs and 4x4s What separates a high-quality restomod from a quick build The economics behind six-figure custom Jeeps Why early utility vehicles are becoming lifestyle statements If you've ever wondered whether restomods belong in serious collections — this episode may change your perspective. Coach Bret Burchard discussed his work with Championship Shift, a mindset training company that helps coaches and athletes compete and lead with confidence, resilience, and humility. Bret shared his experience as a former NBA and college basketball coach, emphasizing the importance of leading for impact rather than validation. He explained how coaches can maintain their passion and effectiveness by reconnecting with the reasons they started coaching, managing their mindset in high-pressure situations, and building a strong team culture. Bret also highlighted the need for coaches to constantly re-engage their players with the vision and purpose of the team, as engagement is not linear but requires ongoing effort. The episode concluded with Bret offering advice for coaches who didn't have a great season, encouraging them to face reality, challenge themselves with innovative solutions, and focus on building strong relationships.Bret Burchard is the co-founder of ChampionShift where he helps elite coaches build high-performing teams fast. When your child is anxious, lonely or flat… your instinct is to comfort them. But what if the fastest way to help them feel better isn’t self-care — it’s helping someone else? New research reveals a powerful mental health shift that happens when kids practise kindness outward instead of inward. The results are surprising — and incredibly practical for everyday family life. In this Doctor’s Desk episode, we unpack the science behind the “kindness paradox” and show you exactly how to use it at home this week. KEY POINTS A study of 777 adults found helping others reduced depression, anxiety and loneliness. Self-kindness reduced depression — but didn’t touch anxiety or loneliness. Kindness toward others builds connection, and connection is at the core of mental health. Feeling like you matter changes everything. Small acts (compliments, thank you notes, cookie drops) create powerful emotional shifts. Teaching kids outward kindness may be one of the simplest wellbeing tools available. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE “The fastest way to feel better about yourself is to help someone else feel better about their life.” RESOURCES MENTIONED Study published in Emotion on prosocial vs self-focused kindness interventions The concept of “mattering” in psychological wellbeing research ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS Ask at dinner: “Who did you help today?” Plan one small act of kindness as a family this week. Encourage compliments to strangers, teachers or friends. Write one handwritten thank-you note together. Repeat it next week — aim for three acts of kindness. #340: The smartest ops people are often the most likely to resist new technology -- and they're not wrong. If you don't change anything, nothing breaks, and nobody blames you. That's a completely rational choice. It's also the one that guarantees you fall behind. Bare metal to VMs, VMs to cloud, cloud to Kubernetes -- every time, the teams that played it safe ended up scrambling to catch up two years later. The safe bet isn't safe. It just feels that way. It gets worse when you look at where the tools come from. Kubernetes? Built by developers. Terraform? Developers. Containers? Developers. The tools ops teams depend on were made by a different tribe. So the pushback isn't really about whether the tech is ready or whether the risk is too high. It's about identity. 'Not my people' is a harder objection to overcome than 'not ready yet,' because no amount of documentation or proof-of-concepts answers it. And about proof -- everyone wants it before they'll move. But the proof already exists. It's the tool someone on your team has been running in shadow IT for a year without any official support. If it survived that long on its own, that's stronger evidence than any pilot program. That's your roadmap. And the way in is small chunks, not grand plans. Move one service. Learn something. Adjust. Repeat. AI in ops follows the exact same pattern. A tool that gets you 50% of the way there for free means you can focus your expertise on the other 50%. That's a win. But the people waiting for AI to be perfect before they'll touch it? They're making the same mistake as the teams that waited for perfect proof before migrating to the cloud. Different decade, same trap. In episode 248 of America Adapts, host Doug Parsons is joined by Professor Mark Nevitt of Emory University School of Law to unpack the repeal of the Clean Air Act's Endangerment Finding and what it means for climate governance in the United States. Long considered the legal backbone of federal climate regulation, its rescission raises fundamental questions about agency authority, the role of the courts, and the durability of federal climate policy. Mark explains the legal theory behind the repeal, how it intersects with Supreme Court precedent, and what likely comes next in federal court. The conversation also explores the practical implications of regulatory instability — from increased climate litigation to the shifting balance between federal, state, and local responsibility. For listeners working in adaptation, public policy, infrastructure, law, or risk management, this episode offers a clear look at how legal shifts at the federal level can reshape the broader climate landscape — and why adaptation efforts must continue regardless of political volatility. Big news over the weekend. Ironically, as I was writing about Iran's tough guy attitude in the negotiations, President Trump attacked them. And you can bet that Democrats and Tucker Carlson responded immediately. Democrats, because they hate everything Trump does. And Tucker Qatarlson because he's pro-Muslim, Islam, or whatever is anti-Israel.We will get to this in just a bit.But let me tell you how much is going on? Three million illegals have left America… 2+ million self-deports and over 700K ICE deportations.SNAP in AZ alone lost over 400,000 people. This includes illegals and deadbeats. How much do you think Democrats LOVE that the attack on Iran will eat up media cycles? Gavin Newsom is still taking hits for his racist comments. You think he's happy for this attack?Bill Clinton admitted during the Epstein hearing that Trump had nothing to do with Epstein. You think Clinton is happy about the attack? He was on the hot seat. When you consider the new world order, add NORMALITY to the discussion.Trump is dismantling cartels, and taking out dangerous regimes. As you consider why it was necessary to attack Iran, remember what Obama did. He gave them $1.7B to rebuild themselves. And Biden followed up.But worse, consider the type of person you have to be to WANT either of these clowns to lead this nation.Never forget what I'm about to tell you. Do you sometimes struggle with loving other people in the body of Christ?Be honest - maybe you love them because you are commanded to do so, but it is hard, because you really don't like them! The Lord cared very much about how we, as believers, treat one another. So much so, that He gives the command that we "love one another," not once, not twice, but three times as recorded in the Gospel of John.Today, Rinse and Repeat embarks on a brand new, 10-part series on the "One Another" statements of the New Testament, which cover so much right truth, including how we are to love one another, serve one another, be kind to one another, be hospitable to one another, and so much more!Turn your Bibles to John 13, as we explore today what it means to love one another, as Jesus loved us. What that actually means may surprise us!!(RAR2026EP10)

Live from Joe's mom's basement (where humility is encouraged and spreadsheets are optional), the crew tackles a deceptively simple question. If most people think they're above average with money, what advice actually helps someone who isn't? Joe Saul-Sehy, OG, Doug, Jesse Cramer, and guest Whitney Hanson (Money Nerds podcast) run a thought experiment inspired by Morgan Housel's observation that nearly everyone believes they're financially smarter than the median. What straightforward moves keep someone from needing last minute financial Hail Marys? The answer isn't flashy. It's systems. Whitney kicks things off with a practical starting point: identify your knowledge gaps. Tools like Investor.gov quizzes can reveal blind spots, and she suggests theming your learning (one focus per month) so financial literacy doesn't feel overwhelming. From there, the conversation turns to controllables: cash flow, savings rate, lifestyle inflation, and career capital. Because while markets bounce around, your habits are yours. The gang also introduces the idea of a tactile money leak audit, physically reviewing spending to spot waste that autopilot budgeting apps can miss. It's less glamorous than crypto speculation but far more effective. Investing gets reframed too. Instead of treating it like a mysterious Wall Street game, they suggest thinking of it as owning small pieces of companies you already know and use. Start small. Automate it. Build reps. Confidence follows action. Insurance and estate planning round out the episode. The crew urges listeners to shop multiple advisors, understand policy details before signing, use AI to help decode fine print without blindly trusting it, and avoid overconfidence just because something sounds right. Doug keeps things lively with trivia revealing that Johnny Carson's 1982 DUI fine was a very specific $603, and OG once again proves suspiciously good at guessing. What You'll Learn: Why most people overestimate their financial knowledge and what to do about it How to identify and close your personal money knowledge gaps The key financial variables you actually control How to perform a simple money leak audit Why small, automatic investing beats waiting for the perfect moment How to make investing feel familiar instead of intimidating The basics everyone should understand about insurance and estate planning Why repetition builds financial confidence faster than theory The Big Takeaway: You don't need advanced tactics. You need consistent systems. Focus on what you control. Automate the boring stuff. Learn one thing at a time. Build margin. Repeat. Because the goal isn't to be above average. It's to be steady enough that you never need a desperate Hail Mary. This Episode Is For You If: You feel like everyone else has money figured out except you Financial advice usually feels too complicated or assumes knowledge you don't have You're tired of feeling behind and want simple systems that work You want to build confidence through action, not just theory You believe steady progress beats trying to be perfect Question for You: What was the first simple money habit that changed your trajectory? Share it in the Spotify comments or The Basement Facebook group. Your small win might be exactly what another Stacker needs to hear. The spring auction season is here — and the collector car market is about to speak loud and clear. In this episode of The Collector Car Podcast, I break down the headline cars and sleeper opportunities coming to RM Sotheby's Miami, plus the powerhouse offerings headed to Broad Arrow Auctions and Gooding Christie's at Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Which cars will set the tone for the 2026 market? Where are reserves positioned smartly — and where might sellers be pushing? Are we seeing strength in blue-chip Ferraris and Porsches… or are modern collectibles and analog supercars stealing the spotlight? From seven-figure headline cars to six-figure entry points, I walk through: • Market trends I'm seeing behind the scenes • Cars I'd personally target (and why) • Potential record-breakers • Smart buys for emerging enthusiasts • And a few surprises that could shake up the weekend If you're buying, selling, or simply trying to understand where the collector car market is heading next — this is your insider preview. Hello to you listening in Olympia, Washington! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds (and a bit more) for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. I am a storyteller of the old school. What do I mean? For over 30 years I've taught (and continue to teach) my clients and students the same thing: “Put down the paper and nobody gets hurt!” Why? Because storytellers have something to say that comes from their aliveness, which is what people most want to feel and connect with. Sharing our stories out loud brings them to light and life, and encourages us to do what most folks fear more than snakes: stand up and speak up in public. Story spoken aloud is what we leave of ourselves in another person. A story is an intimate lasting legacy, a permanent inheritance much like a vow or an oath. When we share our stories out loud, we connect with each other, we belong to each other. We might not realize it but we are creating a verbal promise, a vow, an oath of belonging. Think about how many times we've heard someone say, "Repeat after me: I solemnly swear..." Marrying couples pledge faithfulness through the challenges and joys of marriage. Lawyers uphold the law, maintain client confidentiality, and act as an officer of the court. Doctors focus on ethics, patient care and societal responsibilities. Politicians preserve and defend the Constitution. US military support and defend the Constitution against all enemies. Immigrants becoming US citizens swear the Oath of Allegiance to the United States during a formal naturalization ceremony. From the time we are children in school we recite The Pledge of Allegiance, a patriotic promise of loyalty to the United States flag and the republic for which it stands. What happens when we share our stories out loud? They become real. We say what we mean, we mean what we say. We—and those hearing us—know what we stand for and what we won't stand for. Yes, you might write a story but it needs to be shared out loud to enrich and include the wider world. That's the legacy of the stories we leave in those who have heard them spoken aloud. Your team doesn't fail because they don't care. They fail because you broke the rhythm.Strong operations run on a rhythm.Cadence, not urgency.Regular meetings.Consistent reporting.Predictable check-ins.That's not bureaucracy. That's stability in a volatile environment.Cadence reduces cognitive load.People stop guessing. They know when decisions are made. They know when issues get reviewed. They know when priorities reset. When cadence breaks, chaos fills the gaps. And humans fill gaps with stories.Usually bad ones.Usually wrong ones. That's how culture erodes without anyone “doing” anything. When everything feels urgent, nothing is truly important. That's the whack-a-mole manager.Everything is a priority. So nothing gets finished. The team gets worn down. The operator gets reactive. The outcomes get mediocre. What does cadence look like in multifamily operations? It means your team can predict the week.Daily huddle for blockers.Weekly scorecard for KPIs like occupancy, delinquency, traffic, renewal pace, work order aging.Monthly priorities reset tied to NOI, resident experience, and asset plan. Here's the tip you can run today.Pick three outcomes for the day.Not ten tasks.Three outcomes.Do the three.Repeat tomorrow. If something carries over, it earns a slot the next day. That forces trade-offs.That forces focus.Your onsite team doesn't need more motivation. They need fewer competing signals.Cadence is how you give it to them.Build your cadence this week. Put it on the calendar. Protect it like rent roll, because your rhythm is what keeps your team out of chaos.MultifamilyCollective Blog: https://www.multifamilycollective.comThe Daily Collective Book: https://amzn.to/3YI6BDaHosted by: https://www.multifamilymedianetwork.com

Welcome to Day 3 of the Elegant Productivity Meditation Series: Get More Done With Less Stress. Today's theme is Focus—the kind that feels calm, clean, and sustainable. In this episode you'll use the Mental Clarity Breath to settle your nervous system, reduce distraction, and return to a single point of attention so you can move through your day with more ease and follow-through. Today's breathing technique: Mental Clarity Breath (App Technique) Inhale gently through the nose for 4… hold for 2… exhale slowly for 6. Repeat for 5 rounds, letting your exhale smooth your thoughts and steady your focus. Today's intention: Choose one meaningful task and single-task it—just for today. ABOUT THIS WEEK'S SERIES Welcome to the Elegant Productivity Meditation Series—a calming, results-oriented week designed to help you accomplish more with less stress. Each episode supports a different pillar of sustainable productivity: clarity, focus, energy, time, momentum, boundaries, and integration. You'll train your attention, reset your nervous system, simplify priorities, and build a graceful rhythm you can actually maintain—so productivity feels steady, spacious, and aligned. Best time to listen: morning planning, before deep work, mid-day reset, or after work to release mental clutter. Weekly intention: calm mind, clear priorities, consistent follow-through—without burnout. Get ready to practice with me! In this lesson, we're going to train our pronunciation and vocabulary by shadowing an iconic scene from The Matrix. Shadowing is one of the most effective ways to improve rhythm, stress, intonation, and connected speech. Instead of just listening, we repeat with the speaker in real time. Welcome to Day 7, the final episode of our Loving-Kindness Meditation Series! Loving-kindness—is a simple, science-supported practice that helps you cultivate compassion, strengthen connection, and reduce stress reactivity over time. In today's meditation, you'll do a Weekly Review to reflect on where kindness flowed naturally, where it felt blocked, and how to embody loving-kindness in a way that's warm and boundaried. You'll finish with a short loving-kindness (metta) technique you can use anytime—before a conversation, during stress, or as a daily reset. May you go forth with the tools you gathered during this week's loving-kindness journey! ABOUT THIS WEEK'S SERIES Welcome to Loving-Kindness Meditation: A Daily Heart-Opening Series—a 7-day journey into the ancient practice of cultivating a steady, compassionate heart. This isn't "be positive" meditation, and it isn't personality-based inspiration. It's a classical inner training—rooted in timeless yogic reflections on maitrī (friendliness), compassion, joy, and equanimity—so your mind becomes clearer, your nervous system steadier, and your relationships more spacious. Across this week, you'll build a simple, repeatable heart practice using one focused technique each day: a loving-kindness visualization, a single phrase of kindness, calming breathwork, a heart-opening mudra, a heart-center (4th chakra) nurture practice, a layered "heart stack" you can use anytime, and a gentle weekly review to embody what you've learned. Come as you are—guarded, tender, hopeful, tired, or open. Loving-kindness doesn't require a perfect mood. It only asks for a sincere return. In just a few minutes each day, you'll practice opening the heart with steadiness—so compassion becomes less of an idea and more of a lived inner home. This is day 7 of a 7-day meditation series, "Loving-Kindness Meditation: A Daily Heart-Opening Series" episodes 3465-3471. THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE - "META-MICRO MISSION" Each day, send one tiny ripple of kindness: silently offer a loving-kindness phrase to yourself, a neutral person, and a difficult moment (not necessarily a difficult person). Keep it light—3 breaths each— and track your streak with a simple checkmark. THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY Day 1: Compassion Visualization Day 2: Affirmation: "My heart is open and safe." Day 3: Heart Coherent Breath: Inhale for 5, Exhale for 5, Repeat for 10 rounds. (Option: inhale "soften, exhale "kindness.") Day 4: Lotus mudra for opening your heart Day 5: Fourth chakra for love and gratitude Day 6: Loving-Kindness Flow meditation, combining the week's techniques Day 7: Weekly review meditation and closure SHARE YOUR MEDITATION JOURNEY WITH YOUR FELLOW MEDITATORS Let's connect and inspire each other! She first heard about intermittent fasting in 2016, when a friend recommended Gin's work, but even though she was inspired by Gin's story, she didn't think intermittent fasting was for her. At 5' 4”, she was stuck at a weight set point of around 152 pounds, even though she could lose weight—but then she would go right back up to 152 pounds, and she didn't feel good in her body.In the summer of 2020, she started working out consistently, and her friend and trainer recommended intermittent fasting. She still didn't think she could do it—until one day in November. On November 11, she woke up and started fasting clean that day. She has been fasting ever since. She now weighs 122 pounds, and has lost the constant food noise that plagued her prior to becoming an intermittent faster. She is on a muscle-building journey, and at the age of 66, her daily eating window from 11-6 each day plus working out allows her to easily build muscle and she feels strong and also feels comfortable in her body. At the end of the episode, Liz tells new intermittent fasters that it's simple—just start by skipping breakfast.Join Gin in the new Fast Feast Repeat app for The Grown-Up Year: 52 Weeks to Listen, Play, and Nourish, as well as a growing collection of intermittent fasting resources. Day 5 of Loving-Kindness Meditation: A Daily Heart-Opening Series follows the arc of Nurture—softening the heart with warmth so loving-kindness feels safe, steady, and sustainable. In this episode, you'll practice a Heart Chakra (Anahata) meditation using hand-to-heart awareness and gentle breathing to release protective tension in the chest and invite tenderness back in. This is a nourishing practice for anyone who feels emotionally tired, guarded, lonely, or self-critical. Leave feeling calmer, more supported, and more open—without forcing emotion or overextending yourself. This is day 5 of a 7-day meditation series, "Loving-Kindness Meditation: A Daily Heart-Opening Series" episodes 3465-3471. Day 4 of Loving-Kindness Meditation: A Daily Heart-Opening Series follows the arc of Protect—because a truly open heart also needs a steady boundary. In this episode, you'll practice Lotus Mudra (a heart-opening hand gesture) as an embodied anchor for calm, safe openness—helping you release emotional guarding without becoming overexposed. As you hold the mudra at your heart, you'll cultivate loving-kindness with clarity and inner steadiness, so you can feel more centered, less reactive, and more secure in your own presence.
