Their story is incredible...you don't want to miss this one!"They have devoted their lives to pursuing Christ, strengthening their marriage, and discipling their children as they prepare them to be truth bearers who will share the love and message of Jesus Christ with a lost generation." "Their story started in the late 90's, with a bumpy beginning. These young teenagers found themselves searching for fulfillment and purpose but found themselves stuck in addiction and bound by depression. Teenage pregnancy changed the trajectory of their lives and shortly after welcoming their first child, they married. The early years of their marriage was evidence of the brokenness and lack of hope in their lives. Addiction and unhealthy behaviors continued to plague their relationship, until God began a work within their hearts that would forever change the course of their family. God brought Topher to the end of himself, as he tried and failed many times to walk away from a life of bondage. He knew God had more for his life. After days of fasting and prayer, Topher experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in a new way, breaking the chains of addiction, and forever impacting his life - work, home and relationships. A newfound calling was placed upon their hearts to raise their children for the purpose of advancing the Gospel, and from that day forward, they surrendered to having as many children as the Lord wills and to raise them in the ways of the Lord. Today, Topher and Laura have a story that is built upon 20 years of marriage, 11 children, and 16 years of homeschooling that is evidence of their devotion to fulfilling that calling and mission. The impact of their dedication is now being seen in the next generation as they welcomed their first grandchild in the Fall of 2022. This joyous occasion was a sweet reminder that the raising and training of their children will extend for generations to come, leaving a legacy for Christ that will extend beyond their lifetime. As the founders of Heart 2 Heart Ministries, Topher and Laura are committed to encouraging and serving the next generation of young families as they learn to build healthy marriages, navigate the highs and lows of parenting, homeschool, and ultimately answer the call to teach, train, and disciple their children." Whenever we feel overwhelmed by a scary future, we can run for refuge in the shadow of our strong God. Because he is sovereign over everything, we don’t have to try to figure out what’s next. If you’re in a season of transition like I am, we don’t have to be afraid. We simply have to remember that our God is greater than our fears, our Father is stronger than our scary future. Today we begin a new sermon series on the book of 2 Corinthians, starting with a message on how God uses suffering for His glory.
God is more concerned about the Object of our faith than the size of it. And this is the lesson all of Israel needs to learn, starting with Gideon. It makes no sense to fight an army unmanned with torches and smashed pottery. Neither did it make any sense to march around the walls of Jericho seven times. God has His own ways of showing His power. We would do well to listen and learn, for it is way better to be numbered among the 300 trumpeters than the thousands of dead!
Gideon often gets a bad rap. The whole asking for signs and fleeces and stuff can make it seem like he is one big lump of doubt. Yet we find his name in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11. And the Bible does not appear to condemn him for asking God to confirm His commands. While Gideon was weak, he also chose to obey. Maybe that is one big point in his life that we are supposed to learn from.
Be Strong | Brody Holloway | Saturday NightGod made man and woman unique and distinct from one another. In Genesis 1-2 we see God's original design for man. Today, culture is confusing gender roles. We serve a God of order and clarity. Let's put Scripture in front of our students and children so that they know the truth. In this session, Brody walks through the responsibility God gave to men, and where men commonly fall short. We are called to work, provide, and protect our families. Where Adam failed, Christ succeeded. Let's look to him as our example and lead our families well. What does success look like? What does God's success look like? There are often two different answers to those questions. Our success doesn't always look like God's success. But his “win” is the only success that matters.
When I understand that God is on my side, fear and dread are driven away. We all want to live with a “God on my side” confidence. And we want our children to do the same. This week we are using Psalm 118 as our guide to praying for our children. Let's pray they will know and experience this promise that God is always on their side.
Children are God's great gift! Check out this passage from the Psalms. The post Family Strong: God's Gift appeared first on The Journey with Ron Moore.

When an unexpected disability or disease turns your life on end, how do you journey through each day without letting fear, depression, or discouragement overtake you? Dr. Jean Sutherland can answer this question from personal experience; she has leaned on the Lord through three bouts of aggressive cancer (and treatments) that have significantly altered her life, abilities, appearance, and even the way she eats and speaks. Dr. Sutherland joins the podcast to share how God has sustained her through suffering and taught her to rely on his strength in her weakness. Like Dr. Sutherland, Joni often leans on Scripture and hymns during long, difficult nights. She shares some of her favorites in her book Songs of Suffering. If you or a loved one needs encouragement this season, Songs of Suffering will help you find faith, peace, and comfort in the fight.Listen to Dr. Jean's Spotify Playlist of Hymns KEY QUESTIONS:When unexpected difficulties come do you fall into fear, depression, or discouragement? How can you trust God in your weakness today? How might God work through you to show himself to others? KEY SCRIPTURES:“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” Psalm 40:1–3“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 5:6–7 ----Find more encouragement on Joni Eareckson Tada's radio podcast and daily devotional.Follow us on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.Your support makes this podcast possible!Joni and Friends envisions a world where every person with a disability finds hope, dignity, and their place in the body of Christ. Read any one of the psalms and you are likely to notice the type and shadow of a believer in Christ as they bare their hearts before the Lord while praising God and calling to remembrance all of His glorious ways. More times than not, we read of great moments of struggle, weakness, and even disdain for those in opposition. I was recently reading Psalm 73 and found myself reflecting on similar thoughts. The psalmist was grieved by the prosperity of the wicked, and he shared some things that resonate in our current climate and time. How can we be encouraged by such thoughts? What can we learn from this psalm and others while not losing our focus on God? Join me as we take a thoughtful look at Psalm 73, reflecting on the passages and how they relate to our walk with Christ and our own view of those who seem to prosper in spite of their ways contrary to God.
