Interview with Michigan Wedding Painter Trisha Strickland

"Art is like breathing” - Trisha SticklandToday Trisha Strickland is the most sought-after Wedding Painter in Michigan, but it didn't happen overnight. It was the journey of her life.As you can imagine she came from an artistic family. She describes her family as “capital A” for adventurous. She was 7 when her dad taught her to paint, and that, she says, was the beginning. It wasn't long before her mom bought her all the art supplies she needed. While she was still young her family hit hard times, and money became scarce. Art became a way to fend for herself during those days. At 10-years-old a friend's dad hired her to draw posters for a work event. Around that same time, a man at a restaurant asked if he could buy the picture he had seen her draw on a napkin. Things like that inspired her artistically early on. Soon lots of other little opportunities popped up and she kept saying yes and trying her best.At this point, she knew she had a gift, but she still wasn't sure how to use it. In her early 20s, she got involved with a church and “gave herself to Jesus. Once the church members realized her talent they started hiring her to paint the sermon, or at least what the sermon inspired within her, while it was happening on stage. This was her first experience painting live events. More churches started hiring her to do the same thing, and some even had her paint murals for them in their lobbies. The church she was married in had her paint one for them in fact. Not long after her marriage art had to take a back seat while she raised 5 babies over the course of 7 years. During those days she would still escape into a Bob Ross painting from time to time, but her commercial ambitions slowed down. One day she was watching TV and came across a reality wedding show that depicted an event featuring a Wedding Painter. Immediately a lightning bolt struck her. She knew that this is what she wanted to do with her life, so she picked up her phone and asked her friend who was getting married if she could paint for her at hers. And the rest is history...Learn more about Michaels Entertainment by visiting https://www.michaelsentertainment.comLearn more about RDS films by visiting https://www.rdsfilms.com/

Interview with Michigan Wedding Photographer Autumn Thornsberry

An inspiration to aspiring creatives, Autumn was just 13 years old when she got her first camera and began her journey as an artistic pro. At the time her focus was on the natural beauty of landscapes, plants, and animals, but it wasn't long before a friend-of-a-friend asked her to take their senior photos. It was then that Autumn realized her passion for capturing people at the pivotal milestones in their lives. 2 years later she photographed her first wedding. She continued with photography throughout Highschool, but decided to go into medical school because she, as she puts it, “just wanted to serve people”. Photography though was how she'd always made money, and so it made sense to use her photography to pay for her studies. It wasn't long before she had achieved such success as a wedding photographer that working towards another career just didn't make sense. She realized her TRUE opportunity to serve had been there all along. She decided to move on from medical school ambitions and instead double down on her business…… and she never looked back.Today Autumn Thornsberry of Athornsphoto photographs as many weddings each year as there are weekends to be a part of them, and although still in her mid-20s, has achieved a level of success and influence in the industry worthy of admiration. She is extremely humble though, and will probably blush with embarrassment at reading this paragraph :)We invite you to get to know Autumn as we have had the pleasure of doing so.
