Title: Chatter & Windows (Self Concept) Video Clip: Rocky (review) & Sherlock (preview) Lesson Objective: Develop Emotional intelligence skill-sets by recognizing the window your chatter is “looking through” 86/4 Learning to regulate the past, present and future chatter during daily routines, by developing Self-Awareness you develop a critical building block for the Self Regulation (focus) skill set.
Lesson Objective: Using emotional intelligence skill-set #2 (Self-Regulation) & chatter (words & mental pictures) to successfully let go of the past (self-concept) and what was out of your control (serenity) The application here is to let go of the past because it’s holding you back; so that you can become your best today and drop the baggage of things that are clearly out of your control (and yet still pop up in the chatter).
Lesson Objective: Using emotional intelligence skill-set #3 (Self-Motivation) teach student-athletes how to find their own academic motivation. The same (E.I.) skills you use to be a successful “athlete” (________) are the same skills to use and succeed as a “student”… meaning you have what it takes to succeed in academics, you simply lack self-motivation.
Lesson Objective: Using the “chatter” (words & mental pictures) to develop extraordinary performance (execution of a task). A thirteen-year-old athlete runs the two-mile exercise (on machine) in 12:15 to be best in class at the camp on that day. The development strategy is to teach this thirteen-year-old “self-awareness” and “self-regulation” skills (two different emotional intelligence skill sets). The tool we use is the “chatter” (words & mental pictures). Two notable observations: #3 – Self Motivation • Competitor (friend) walks over to glance at his time • Trainer (D1 Athlete) walks over to ask why his TV is off

The same (E.I.) skills you use to be a successful “athlete” (________) are the same skills to use and succeed as a “student”… meaning you have what it takes to succeed in academics, you simply lack self-motivation.
