During World War II, the Allies had multiple opportunities to liberate Auschwitz. Why didn't they do it? Because they couldn't believe the reports that stated the industrial scale of genocide was taking place there. Like then, we are facing a possible illegal and fraudulent election that may have been stolen in proportions unheard of in American history. As the saying goes, "Smooth seas make poor sailors”. The believe in fundamental rights given to every human by God does not waiver or falter when the situation gets bad. Indeed, a crisis is the time when principles are tested. We are forced to decide whether we truly believe in Liberty when confronted with someone who does things we disagree with. Yet, this crisis we face has shown lifelong Conservatives to have weak hands when it comes to holding onto Liberty. The moment the world becomes dangerous, they suddenly flock to the siren song of authoritarianism to force people to act in ways they deem moral and just. We have to decide what kind of a world we will live in when this crisis is over.

Every year, we accept a certain loss of life in America as the cost of doing business. While I don't believe in sacrificing liberty in exchange for safety, I cannot ignore the fact that we refuse to restrict some privileges for some amount of saving lives. These decisions are too toxic to make for political figures, and as such they allow people to lose their lives to save their own jobs. This time is no different. American lives will be sacrificed on the alter of economics in order for Governments to survive. There are no wins with this virus, only mitigated losses. It is a battle for survival. If you allow the Government to choose who survives, I can promise you that you won't be awarded the win.
