Timing seems to be everything when you need a reminder that things are going to be ok, even when I get down on myself and I wonder if I will get through the troubles I'm dealing with.  Well then a couple of things - first I saw this post from Positively Present (@positivepresent) “Some of the best moments are coming… The film of your life is still playing. Some of the best moments of your life are still to come.” A wonderful reminder for me that “my movie” is still being played out and better things are coming. The second thing - it always seems to happen where I get a text, a call, an email or a message on social media from someone reaching out and lifting my spirits. I did the same to a colleague last week and then in a conversation with that colleague this past weekend, I found out the perfect timing of my message was when him and his family were dealing with something that recently had happened. Then the morning of this recording, a former student of mine reached out thanking me for our time together in my classes before she graduated 7 years ago.  That was a big uplift for me on this challenging day. Read the quote again from above - better days are coming for you too!  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too.  Please let me know that you are reaching out to me from my podcast.

Found a great reminder - a simple reminder that I know I need and I think the entire world needs too.  It comes from The Mindfulness Meditation Institute (@TrainingMindful) and the message is:  “Being a good person does not depend on your religion, status in life, race, skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how you treat others.” So much of what we see on how some people treat others - it's a horrible lesson of what not to do. It seems humans have never gotten this lesson right. I, of course, am one of those humans that needs to work on this “skill”, “choices”, “habits”, etc. One thing I will be doing, every day - is to try and get better on how I treat others and this starts with me treating me, much better than what I've been doing. Hope this helps you too.

Well, I went back to back with today's thoughts - leaning on The Mindfulness Meditation Institute (@TrainingMindful) again, because I saw an important need to share this. I know I need this reminder on a daily basis, and I know others do too.  This message is “Let It Go.  If you can't do anything about it then let it go. Don't be a prisoner to the things you can't change.” This is something that I've been focusing in on that if I'm looking back too often on things that I've done, not done, said, didn't say, etc., that I need to grab onto the lesson to help me be better & then move on.  Again, where are my feet at? I'm here. Right now, I'm where I'm at.  The choices I've made in my life have helped to guide me where I'm at today.  That's what I need to focus on, so that my day can be great and that helps my tomorrows be great too.  That way I will have a better connection to my past, a stronger one, one that has a more powerful & positive impact on my future, “todays”.  Again, this message hit me strong, so I figured that others might find it helpful too.

Found another post that I really thought was created just to show me. However, I didn't see my name attached to it, but it sure felt like it was. This came from Succeeded Mind (@SucceededMind) and here it is:  “Either you go after the life you want, or you settle for the life you get.”  This made me do a deep reflection on at first I still need to “go after” more and create more of what I want in life.  But then, while recording this episode, it hit me that I have AN INCREDIBLY AWESOME LIFE with my wife, kids, my family, along with my profession of being a lifelong educator and coach!! So for me to settle for my life (I'm in love with my life), but … I know I can keep getting better at this life I love so much, that's for sure.  I hope you can make a connection to some of these points for the life you want or already have parts of it. One thing for sure, we don't have as much time as we think we do.

When I saw this post from Self-Care Canvas (@selfcarecanvas) it of course came to me as so many people are showing themselves to be the exact opposite (multiple times a day) of this quote: “Be humble and never think you are better than anyone else.  We all leave this world with nothing.”  It's both sad to me and also amazing how so many don't get this simple, yet valuable point.  I know / I believe that we do leave with the love & relationships that we had for others in our lifetime! We leave that behind for others too. Now, I also believe that the world has SO MANY examples of people living lives that are not humble, not serving others, not showing kindness & empathy, etc. So we have plenty of examples of what we don't want to be in life. We need to be the example for others as to a better way to live our lives. Again, sorry for getting fired up and emotional with this episode, but I'm beginning to see things with a bit more clarity every single day!!  I hope this helps you to do the same.

I found a super strong & powerful post that got me fired up and it only has seven words to it. This came from the Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) “Strong people rarely have an easy past.”  As I got to thinking about this, I started seeing myself in a way that I usually don't see myself at all.  I realize I'm a lot stronger than I give myself credit for due to the “storms” I have been through.  It also occurred to me that I am a lot stronger and better because of the storms that my loved ones have gone through as well. This episode I got a bit fired up and emotional (I know, big surprise… LOL) as I really started to see myself and my loved ones in not only a different light, but a much stronger & clearer light too!! I hope this episode shows you about the true statement from Morrie Schwartz, from Mitch Albom's “Tuesdays With Morrie” - where he reminded us that “death ends a life, not a relationship.” If we keep working on our relationships in life, and not what the world tells us is important, we will keep getting stronger for sure.

Every single man listening to this is familiar with discipline and has applied it (to varying degrees) in his life. We generally think of discipline as an overall good thing (and, I think it is) but it can often lead to bouts of frustration and unnecessary suffering if utilized incorrectly. My guest today, Craig Ballantyne, makes the case that discipline, although, a powerful force for productivity comes with strings attached, and isn't the end-all, save-all it's often made out to be. Today, we talk about what true discipline is not, why chasing the wrong target is so common and what to do about it, what I call the “self-help hangover” and how to avoid it, why you should know the distinction between standards and expectations, and how to avoid what Craig calls, “The Doom Loop” in your life. WOW.. this one hit me hard… right in the heart.  It came from liminal (@Liminal1988) and it's a note that is titled “Dear Younger Me.”  It starts out “You didn't know many things. You didn't know how life would turn out, or why certain things were happening to you. And that's ok….” and the last couple of lines “.... You're still learning, still healing. There's always something good in you. There was always something special about you. Then, and even now.”  This got me thinking about my younger self and how that part of me (all the parts of my younger self) is still with me. The saying of how our past is our best mentor still rings true. I think it becomes even more valuable and special, when we are able to connect it to the memories, feelings, emotions, etc., of our younger self(s). Make sure you look this one up & take it to heart to make changes that you can connect with for your life!

Found a  great post from Inspiration & More (@LifeWithJohn) where we were reminded that we always need to  “Always remember that there is a strength within you that is greater than any storm.” Since we all face storms, this is something we all need to remember - we have been through tough times & we will continue to go through them.  Since again, our Past is our best mentor, we can lean on those experiences that we have been through. This post hit home with me simply because I think we need more people pulling for others rather than hoping that others lose or have troubles.  I'm certainly trying to follow what the Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) shares here with this:  “Call me crazy but I love to see people happy and succeeding. Life is a journey, not a competition.” To me, this is a good kind of “crazy” to be - encouraging others to win in life compared to being a critic and wanting others to lose.  The world needs more people to look at celebrating others, instead of criticizing people.

Modern farming, soil depletion, and long-distance transport have stripped our food of nutrients, making quality sourcing and supplementation essential.Staying ahead of metabolic disease means taking daily action—moving your body, managing stress, eating well, sleeping, and staying connected.  Even a short walk after a meal can significantly reduce blood sugar spikes. Daily activity improves energy and focus, builds muscle, enhances insulin sensitivity, and monitors glucose levels.Just because a drink is labeled “prebiotic” doesn't mean it replaces real vegetables. Whole fruits and vegetables provide a variety of fibers that support gut health more effectively than most supplements or processed drinks. You can't supplement your way out of poor nutrition. Supplements are only as good as their quality. Many synthetic options don't break down or absorb adequately, making them useless. Food first, then smart supplementation.Chronic stress triggers hormonal changes that lead to insulin resistance and fat storage. The damage builds over time because most people don't recognize their stress. Managing stress is just as crucial as managing diet and exercise.QUOTES:         (08:56) “Our food supply is ripening while in transit, not connected to the vine where nutrients come from.” - Jenn Trepeck(18:54) “Variety is your friend. Super reflective post here that I found from The Mindfulness Meditation Institute (@TrainingMindful) where we are reminded that “You can't change the people around you, but you can change the people around you. Read that again.” This reminded me that I can't change the people around me - what they say, what they think, what they do, etc. But, I can change the people around me as to who is around me, who I let influence me along with who I spend my time connecting to. In today's world, this is something I need to get stronger with for sure.

Coach Mark Hickie (@MPHickie)  shares his powerful thoughts  “A message for today … When it's meant for you, it brings a sense of ease. It doesn't leave you questioning your worth or peace of mind. Your soul recognizes what is right for you by how it feels when you're in its presence. If it costs you your inner calm, it's too expensive.” There are some good things to take with us from this episode for sure. It got me thinking about the thought of towards the end of our lives - even after we die, spending eternity looking into the “mirror of regret” for eternity, as to the person we could have been.  No way! Simple message today, but not only did I need to see this, I needed to share it too. (@Loveandfear) shared this gem, what is called a Gentle Reminder: “Be someone who still tries. After failure, frustrations, and heartache - be a person who musters up the courage to try and believe that good things are yet to come.”  Yep… I needed to be reminded about simply trying. Not giving up. Not getting stuck inside my own head and not getting in my own way of doing things, going after my dreams, etc. It sure is easy to let the world get in the way. I am choosing to try and keep moving forward despite all the obstacles life (and myself) throw in my way. Whatever calling / profession we have, simple & powerful… do a good job! It's something that I know I need to work on for sure.  One part really stuck with me: “Fully invest yourself in the things you're tending to.”  I got to tell you. I saw this post that I shared with some students I'm working with, mainly because it made me think about how I needed this reminder too.  Also, I keep telling students, the earlier they grasp onto some of these lessons, they will have so many opportunities come their way that many adults never, ever see. This came from Mindful Maven (@mindfulmaven_) where it was shared -”Punctuality is not about being on time, it's basically about respecting your own commitments.”  Sure being on time is important, but what's even more important is us to see that it is directly connected to how we see ourselves as being worthy of the effort. The things & people that we need to connect with, those take time.  If I value who I am, where I want to go, what I want to build my life to be, who I want to add value to, etc., I will make sure I will be “on time” for those things. For many of those things, it's a simple matter of “I'll actually do those things”. I will follow up with myself because I promised myself (and others) that I'd do something. I need to think of myself with such value that I'll find a way to see that it's really something we need to & get to, DO… for our own goals and dreams. Why keep “showing up late” in our own life??

After a great phone call with my buddy, and fellow podcast enthusiast, Coach Dave - I saw this posting that reminded me of so many things.  Once again from Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) ”There's a story behind every person. There is a reason why they're the way they are. Think about that before you judge someone.”  So many simple reminders for me to not only stop judging people who I may not agree with, have said and done things that I may not like - and especially not judging myself so harshly!  We have opportunities every single day - in fact many moments of every day to judge less, as we all have so many reasons why we do what we do. One thing for sure is that I know I have plenty to work on to keep trying to improve, every day I have!! Good one that I picked up from Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) “Life is like a book. Some chapters are sad, some are happy and some are exciting, but if you never turn the page, you will never know what the next chapter has in store for you.” This has been something on my radar a bit lately - when I'm in a funk, beating myself up, in a bad mood, etc., I have been trying to turn the page a bit quicker, instead of reading the page over and over.  My book has plenty of “old chapters” and they are meant to help with sharing lessons of my past so that my present day can help me with my future. So many times I have not turned my page and I know I need to do it. I think we all can pick up some ideas from this one. Found a great reminder from Mind Essentials (@Mind_Essentials)and it's all centered with an egg as the reminder. It's wrapped around in this truth - “If an Egg is Broken by outside force, Life ends. If Broken by inside force, Life begins. Great things always begin from inside.”  It's a good thing to remember that life is an inside - out job. We can control things that we have control of - things that are inside ourselves. Things that are outside of us, things that the world may throw at us - even other people throw at us; we can't get caught up thinking those things are more important.

Found a great lesson, a powerful reminder - and once again it's coming from a former student of mine. From Coach Ray Ostrowski (@CoachRayO3313) Where he gave us some of his thoughts: “Complacency is the enemy of progress. We cannot grow satisfied with what we did yesterday & expect to be better tomorrow. It's about the work you put in right now. If you truly want to be special, you have to be willing to sacrifice today! The cost for success is always increasing.” He shared a quote too that connects with his thoughts and again, remind all of us that we have some choices that we can make for ourselves that will tremendously help ourselves too.
