“Send Coach John a message”I found something that got me thinking, reflecting, smiling and yes, having a few tears. It came from liminal (@Liminal1988) where they shared this post: “A happy life doesn't consist of just happy moments, it is a mixture of both the happy and the sad. There will be good times - when you laugh with your friends until your cheeks are read and your stomach hurts, trips to the park and the zoo, shopping and late-night ice-cream runs, and private jokes and notes passed in class, and every little prank that you play. There will be long lazy days spent at the beach as you dip into the ocean just as the sun sets, and holidays to countries with tender sand and warmth in the air, and nights you spend indoors with your family wrapped around you and the comforting days that you spend alone. ~ Ruby Dhal, (author of The Path to Self-love.) Each item in this post got me thinking about many things throughout my life. In fact when I typed this out, I got to thinking about other things too. So many things reminded me that I have had a happy life so far AND I plan to choose to continue to have more of a happy life too as I get older. I sincerely hope this helps you to connect with having a happy life too. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found an amazingly short and simple item that I know I need to add to my to do list - maybe you do too. It comes from The Motivational Quotes (@MQUOTESLIFE) and the to-do item is this: “Sometimes rest is the most productive thing you can do.” One reason I see this as a good thing is that I'm getting older and so I can justify it a bit more. But I'm also seeing the truth and importance of this truth too. To get through the tough moments that life can throw at us nowadays, really finding the time to rest and recharge is becoming more of a necessity instead of something to say “oh I wish I could rest and recharge”. By resting, recharging, clearing our head, feeling better, recovering, etc., is that we can be better to go back and deal with things a bit later. Remember, when we are not at our best - we can't be our best for others. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found today's motivation tidbit from Jim Rohn Official (@OfficialJimRohn) where he reminds us about what success is really made up of. Remember, we all have our own pieces of what success means to us. "Success is a few simple disciplines practiced every day; while failure is simply a few errors in judgment repeated every day." — “Jim Rohn Simple. Daily. Repeated. That's the formula.” As I let this sink in a bit, it's easy for me to see that I have plenty to work on each and every day and I am grateful for the chance to keep getting better. “Send Coach John a message”Found a very spot-on post here for all of us to connect with. It comes from Inspiration & More (@LifeWithJohn) where this is the gold nugget he shared: “The world is changed by your example not by your opinion. - Paul Coelho ~ Talking the talk isn't enough………Walk the Walk!” Way too many of us simply do too much talking (yes.. That is me you see standing up holding my hand up… guilty for sure on this one), instead of putting more action out there into the world. Social media is dominated I think with so many “keyboard warriors” who spew thoughts and opinions and then they are actually “walking a totally different walk.” The hidden agenda by so many people is for so many other reasons than simply to try and live a good life and help others. I know for one I need to keep walking my correct walk a bit more. I'm not going to put too many of my opinions out there telling others how to do their walk… other than encouraging them to actually “walk their walk.” Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I came across this list of great ways to improve our mental health. In today's world, it is for sure worthwhile to keep improving ourselves, and our mental health is one of the best things we can do for sure. It comes from Sports Psychology (@SportPsychTips) Here it is: “Eight ways to improve your mental health: 1. Think positive, 2. Be in the moment, 3. Have fun, 4. Live a healthy lifestyle, 5. Work toward your goals, 6. Love others, 7. Have purpose in life and 8. Ask for help.” I know for sure I have plenty to work on and this list sure does give me some things to keep focusing in on. “Send Coach John a message”I found a gem from a hall of famer, Nancy Lieberman (@NancyLieberman) who shared this truth: “Life is so ironic, it takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence and absence to value presence.” These are simple truths that I usually don't think about too much. Now that I was reminded about it - these sure do make sense. I also need to seek them out more… more happiness, a bit more silence and I'm for sure valuing the presence of people that I love a lot more now. “Send Coach John a message”I found a powerful and simple statement from Kylie Riordan (@mindfulheal) that I connected with in yesterday's podcast. “When we understand that each day isn't one more day, but one less, we start giving more value to what truly matters.” I guess it's easier to see the truth in this statement as we get older. The key is to not wait too long to connect with it and allow it to have an impact on how you live your days. Know that today is the youngest we will ever be and that tomorrow we will be older and closer to our last day. This gets me thinking about not wasting little moments throughout my day - right now. Look around and see what really matters in your life and start connecting with that more and more… today! Thanks for listening. Today on Uncommon Sense, we're discussing the tragic state of the modern world. From the protests in Ireland to growing frustration across Western nations, many people feel as though their voices are no longer being heard by the institutions that claim to represent them. I'll share why I support the right of people to protest and why I believe the demonstrations in Ireland have resonated with so many people around the world. We'll also discuss what I see as a deeper spiritual crisis affecting modern society. Many of the political, cultural, and social problems we face today are symptoms of a broader moral and spiritual decline, one that cannot be solved through politics alone. In this episode:My thoughts on the protests in IrelandWhy so many citizens now feel disconnected from their governmentsThe growing divide between ordinary people and powerful institutionsThe role of faith, morality, and personal responsibility in rebuilding societyWhy I believe many of today's crises point to a deeper spiritual battleWhether you agree or disagree, this episode is an invitation to think critically about the direction of our culture, our governments, and our future.--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app

“Send Coach John a message”I was doing some looking for things to inspire, teach, remind and get me to do some reflecting… and I found this from Bob Starkey (@CoachBobStarkey). You can also connect with him HERE on his blog site. Coach shared: “Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” ~ Anthony J. D'Angelo. It's something that I discussed with a few friends & former colleagues on a quick visit to my old work place this morning. It really does add tremendous value to every one of my days and it continues to inspire me to keep improving in any way I can. It's something that I will continue to share with others too. “Send Coach John a message”My connection with John O'Leary keeps getting stronger as I continue to see what a difference maker he is for people. A recent podcast from him had this description “It is rarely the brightest lights or biggest personalities that change the world most profoundly. Far more often and far more importantly, it's ordinary people quietly choosing to use whatever gifts they have to lift the lives around them.” You can find the short episode HERE. The short part I am sharing in today's show gets me thinking about saying YES to doing more to making a difference for others and myself. The world needs us to use our gifts for the people around us that need help in whatever way we can help them. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I really enjoy days where I can find a simple reminder that has a lot of power behind it. Today's reminder comes from Roy T. Bennett (@InspiringThinkn) where he reminds us about this: “Faith, hope, love, and truth form the pillars of life; without them, nothing truly stands.” (Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart) I am reminded about these pillars of life that I need to keep not only investing in improving in these areas for myself, but also that when I keep improving - everyone around me gets better too! This is about how powerful this is if we all keep looking to improve and help each other get better! These parts of life are very “attractive” to have. We connect with people when we have good things going on around ourselves. Since life is all about relationships, the more we can improve on those relationships, the better things will be. One thing for sure, I need to keep working on many different things to keep getting better. Thanks for listening. In this sermon, Pastor Rick teaches that real freedom is not doing whatever we want, but living the life God designed through self-control, purpose, fruitfulness, and continual progress. Drawing from God’s original design for humanity and Jesus’ call to discipleship, he challenges believers to take responsibility for their lives, overcome what keeps them stuck, and build a future that lasts according to God’s plan.
“Send Coach John a message”Going back to back here my friends as I connect with Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) again on a very thought provoking & taking a deep breath type of moment. This lesson he introduces with his thoughts first: “We spend so much energy regretting wrong decisions, failed attempts & lost time. Often detours are what help us discover who we truly are. Every mistake carries a lesson, every setback has meaning. The goal isn't to dwell on the past-it's to understand what it's here to teach us.” This quote really does make sense, especially in today's techy world. “I'm a big fan of the ‘GPS Theory': when you miss a turn, your GPS doesn't judge you, it recalculates. No matter how many detours you take, it finds another way forward. Life works like that too. You'll make mistakes, but your destination doesn't vanish. The route just changes.” I needed this easy to connect with thought. I've made mistakes for sure, but I do just need to keep finding another way forward. Too bad I don't move as fast as my GPS does in calculating a new way. How's your GPS system doing? Stay plugged in to it for sure. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”Love the daily reminders and lessons I get from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) and this one really got me thinking about a few things. Mark's intro to the post was this: “A message for today … Everyone is on their own unique journey. Appreciate the people who cross your path, cherish the lessons they leave behind & move forward with gratitude and purpose. Walk your path with kindness, integrity & purpose and embrace the journey ahead.” These are powerful reminders for all of us and reminding ourselves of these, during the moments we are in them throughout life …. That is a key element to having an amazing life. The post said this: “Everyone is on their own unique journey. Walk your path with purpose, kindness, and integrity, while wishing others well on theirs. When your paths meet, appreciate the moments you share together. When they part, continue forward with strength and gratitude. Cherish the lessons, memories, and footprints they leave on your heart, then embrace the opportunity to keep growing and discovering who you are along the way.” As I read this and retyped it out here, I sure did think of so many people that have shared our journeys together. Getting a little misty eyed about it too. Wow, I am blessed in so many ways and I am so very grateful for all of it. So many good people out there and I have connected with many of them. I hope you have the same experiences too. Thanks for listening. Join Neil Epler as he explores the themes of personal responsibility and accountability in faith, drawing from Ezekiel 18. This sermon emphasizes the importance of individual actions and the opportunity for repentance and redemption. Epler addresses common misconceptions about generational sin, urging listeners to take responsibility for their own spiritual journey and to seek personal transformation through faith.
“Send Coach John a message”I found a powerful reminder that I know I need to take with me every day and I also know, FOR SURE, that others need to remember this too. It comes from Gary Hensel (@gary_hensel) and it is this: “Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours shine any brighter.” We have way too much of people blowing out others' candles thinking that it's ok, and also that it means they are successful. Many that keep doing it also think it means they are a good person for others to follow - in business, religion, etc. It's total nonsense my friends. The thing is - I need to make sure that I'm not blowing out anyone's candles - I want to be the one to help them light them. The only candle to blow out is that of hate, intolerance, selfishness, etc. Again, the world needs this reminder more now than ever. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found a new connection for this episode, and even if it's coming out a tad late, I still had to share it with you. It's from Bob Coniglio (@BobConiglio) and his message that goes with the quote is to “Enjoy the day.” The thought he shared was this: “Connection is why we're here. It is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.” ~ Brene Brown. Life is indeed all about connections. It's about the people we build relationships with throughout life. It's the sparks that we connect with that fuel our passion and our purpose. Here is the link for the speech (ordinary people do extraordinary things) from Coach Jim Valvano - HERE. It's also the daily living we choose to go after that connects with both - people and our purpose. Keep investing in those choices every day my friends. As long as I live, I want to keep making these connections every day I have. How about you? Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I always love seeing some of the same strong people, who continue to post things on a regular basis that help others. A former student of mine who is now a fabulous teacher and coach, Coach Ray Ostrowski (@CoachRayO3313) is definitely one of those people that are a quality difference maker for others. Here is his intro for the post I saw today: “Your % matters. You can't be a part-timer & expected to receive full-time benefits & rewards. Break ‘what you do' up into a % based on your number of opportunities & see how you stack up. Are your outcomes in line with your expectations? Does your % help or hurt your effort?” Now remember, he writes these quotes out every day on a big white board in marker, for his students / players to see! He's sharing these gems for anyone that wants to keep getting better - even if we are not in high school any more or that we don't play football either. That's the beauty of being a lifetime learner… it happens every day if you go looking for it. The quote that he wrote out is this: “% Matters! You can't be a part-timer & expect full time benefits & rewards. In sports, percentages matter - 75% from the line is solid, while .350 from the plate is elite. But in life, what % of the work are you actually doing? If you're only showing up for half the reps, half the prep & half the effort - don't expect the whole result. There isn't much middle ground for commitment & excuse. The scoreboard will reflect your investment.” WOW!! Take that to heart my friends. This got me thinking about my % as connected to my everyday life. What's my “batting average” for each day? Am I even getting to the plate to take an at bat or am I content sitting in the bleachers and “resting” because it's more comfortable and I “get to” or “I've earned it” since I'm retired. Dang Coach Ray…. you got this guy doing some deep thinking with this one my friend. Thank You! (I hope he's got you thinking too my friends.) Thanks for listening. This talk is the fifth installment in a wellness series that takes a distinctly yogic approach to understanding life's challenges and spiritual development.Acharya das discusses the concept of "false shelter" (durashraya in Sanskrit) - the tendency to place unlimited trust in things that cannot provide genuine protection or happiness. He uses examples ranging from relationships and material possessions to modern technology and social media to illustrate how people become victims of their own poor choices rather than external circumstances. He stresses the importance of taking personal responsibility for life decisions and developing consequential thinking.Acharya das concludes with an emphasis on the importance of cultivating atma-tattva (knowledge of the soul/self) and the necessity of reconnecting with the Supreme Soul as the only genuine source of shelter and protection. He advocates for regular chanting meditation as a transformative practice that can lead to self-realization and God-realization, describing it as an immersive experience rather than a mental activity. Quotes used in the talk:For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his very mind will be the greatest enemy. Bhagavad-gītā 6.6For one whose mind is unbridled, self-realization is difficult work. But he whose mind is controlled and who strives by right means is assured of success. That is My opinion. Bhagavad-gītā 6.36When a man in the material world takes more interest in the materialistic way of life than in spiritual/God consciousness, he is considered to be in a diseased condition. The normal condition is to remain an eternal servant of the Lord. This healthy condition is lost when the living entity forgets God due to being attracted by the external features of Krsna's maya energy. This world of maya is called durasraya, which means “false or bad shelter.” One who puts his faith in durasraya becomes a candidate for hoping against hope. In the material world everyone is trying to become happy, and although their material attempts are baffled in every way, due to their nescience [ignorance] they cannot understand their mistakes. People try to rectify one mistake by making another mistake. This is the way of the struggle for existence in the material world. If one in this condition is advised to take to [cultivating] God consciousness and be happy, he does not accept such instructions. – Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami PrabhupadaPersons devoid of ātma-tattva do not inquire into the problems of life, being too attached to the fallible soldiers like the body, children and wife. Although sufficiently experienced, they still do not see their inevitable destruction. Bhāgavata Purāṇa 2.1.4“One who is not connected with the Supreme Soul can have neither transcendental intelligence nor a steady mind, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace?” – Bhagavad-gītā 2.66Chapters 00:00:00 Introduction to Yogic Wellness Philosophy 00:02:14 The Threefold Miseries and Realistic Expectations 00:04:35 Historical Foundation: Sanatana Goswami's Questions 00:13:32 Personal Responsibility in Relationships and Life Choices 00:19:24 The Search for Shelter and Modern Emptiness 00:26:07 Consequential Thinking and Rat Trap Happiness 00:29:17 Mind Control and Spiritual Practice 00:32:51 Modern Manipulation and Technology Addiction 00:37:34 False Shelter and Spiritual Guidance 00:42:00 Durashraya: The Nature of False Shelter 00:47:38 Fallible Soldiers and Spiritual Truth 00:50:00 True Shelter and Spiritual Connection 00:54:08 Chanting Meditation as Transformative Practice
“Send Coach John a message”I came across not only a post from Jon Gordon (@JonGordon11) but I also just picked up a copy of his latest book “The Power of Positive Habits”. Great stuff in my quest to just keep trying to get better and be my best version of myself. The post was this: “There's nothing more powerful than a humble person with a warrior spirit who is driven by a bigger purpose.” I love this!! What a huge reminder for us to keep looking to be humble throughout life! Keep looking to have the mindset of a warrior - keep going, not giving up, get back up when getting knocked down, etc. Keep feeding that spark inside of us that helps to make us who we are. Why are we here? What are we doing with our lives? I think it's all about constantly connecting with our purpose - every - single - day!! Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”Found a great conversation that Greg Berge (@GregBerge) shared with a recent post. This thought was what the focus was on: “The lie we tell ourselves. Once we win one I'll be happy.” - Sean McVay LA Rams Head Coach on Winning a Super Bowl. Greg goes on to say “that Winning doesn't fill the void. It just moves the finish line. The real joy? The grind. The growth. The people.” Like I've shared plenty of times before, life is about relationships. I love the last last that Coach McVay shares about transactional vs. transnational. Take some of these points - like I need to do - and enact them into our life in order to help make it the best life we possibly can. So many more important things in life than winning, job titles, tons of money, fame, etc. The sooner we connect with the grind, the growth and the people that we want to build our lives around - the better off we will be. “Send Coach John a message”Found this gem from Kylie Riordan (@mindfulheal) and it's one that I haven't really connected with this thought before. This is the new connection to kindness for me. “Kindness is loaning someone your strength instead of reminding them of their weakness.” I love this thought. Encouraging others, lifting them up; more than pointing out something they might need to fix. I think there is a lot of pointing out the faults of others. What is more strengthening to others, is taking this higher and different “road” in interacting with them. One thing for sure, I need to do more of this for sure. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found a fantastic reminder from Overmind (@overmind01) where this little gem was shared with everyone: “8 billion people on Earth. Almost none know you exist. The few who do are too busy to care. Relax. No one's watching. Go build your life.” So much to digest out of these few sentences. Reminding ourselves that just about everyone on this planet doesn't know who we are. There are some good people - a few that do know us and are pulling for us, but that number is really small. Realizing that all of these people really don't have any say in what we want to do with our lives. It's up to us. We can't let outside “noise” get in the way of what we do with our lives. “Send Coach John a message” I stumbled across a post from Seek Wiser (@SeekWiser_) today that got me thinking about a few things. This was the quote that caught my eye today: “Positions are temporary. Titles are limited. But how you treat people is always remembered.” Once again, the world needs more of this. I know I keep mentioning this in my podcasts, but it's true. We can all do a better job of sharing and acting on things that help bring about better ways of living our lives. A big part of this also connects with others too. When we live our best lives, remember, we are changing “the world” by improving “our world” around us. All the titles, fancy positions and possessions, along with all the money in the world; none of it will win out over how we make others feel. Between remembering my uncle and the two young fellas I had some great conversations with yesterday - wow… there are tons of awesome examples out there for us to connect with and learn from. Remember, you are one of those examples that others can connect with and learn from too. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”The Mindfulness Meditation Institute (@TrainingMindful) shared a very powerful and short reminder for all of us. “Be an encourager. The world has plenty of critics already.” - Dave Willis. I may have shared something close to this quote in the past, but I know I needed to share it today for sure. All of us need to look to encourage others AND ourselves. There are so many critics out there, but their feedback to others doesn't even come close to what the world needs. “Send Coach John a message”I connected with this guy again, as it's been awhile since I've shared something from Coach AJ / Mental Fitness (@coachajkings). This one is a reminder of some pure gold basics in life. It comes from football coach, Dabo Swinney who said, "It's the optimists who change the world." Success starts with your mindset and what you do every single day. A bad attitude holds you back. A great attitude takes you forward. "The only disability in life is a bad attitude." We all have this disability at times throughout our lives, along with others. Keep trying to be your best as I am doing the same. I'm reminding myself that my effort and attitude are the only things that I can really control - I need to keep working on these for sure. Thanks for listening. Let us know what you think about the podcast!Episode 218: How to Focus on What You Can Control When Family Relationships Are HardWhen a relationship is strained, it's so tempting to think: If I say it the right way… if I do enough… if I stay kind enough… then they'll finally respond the way I need them to. But the truth is, you can't control what someone else thinks, feels, or does. What you can control is how you show up, and that's where change begins. In this episode, you'll learn:How Stephen R. Covey's “Circles” framework helps you sort what you're worried about (concern) from what you can impact (influence) and what you can actually choose (control). The difference between control and influence and why confusing the two often leads to frustration, resentment, and burnout. Why blame, of yourself or others, quietly steals your power and what to do instead when you feel stuck. What “your inputs” really are in a struggling relationship and how to check whether you're expecting something different than what you're planting.A simple journaling question to help you reclaim steadiness and integrity: “Who am I being in the relationship, and how is that in my control?”When you focus on your circle of control, your thoughts, feelings, actions, and relational inputs, you stop chasing the impossible job of managing someone else's inner world. You may not be able to control outcomes, but you can keep planting what aligns with who you want to be. Over time, that steadiness changes you, and it often shifts the relationship more than force ever could. Tina Gosney is the Family Conflict Coach. “Send Coach John a message”I found one simple sentence that to me was a very powerful post. It comes from Overmind (@overmind01) and here is the sentence: “Real education starts after you leave school.” Yes sir, 100% right on target for sure. Think of what you are “learning” every day!! “Education” itself simply does not mean in a formal school setting. That's where it starts of course, but real education is something that we are privileged to seek and go after, every single day of our lives! What are your “lesson plans” for today? For your life? Keep striving to get better. To be better. To be a difference maker for others. To be humble and hungry. To understand that nobody gets through this life alone or untouched by challenges, difficulties, setbacks, road blocks, failures, and ultimately, death! “School” is open every day, 24 / 7 / 365. We just have to pay attention to this and to keep learning. The right things are out there for us to pick up and make a part of our “educational” resume. Keep at it!! Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”There has been a young lady who is in the battle of her life with ALS, that I've been following for a few years. A recent post I saw was her taking questions that she is answering about her journey. Her name is Sarah Nauser (@SarahNauser) and her bio on her Twitter / X account says this: “Dominating ALS one day at a time since 2018. Retired Police Officer. “Love the life you live and live the life you love” Go Royals! #FightLikeAGirl“ She answered a question “are you afraid?” and her answer sure does get me thinking about things in my life and offering me a different perspective as to how I need to change things as far as I handle my troubles. She reminds me in her post about the importance of having “faith over fear”. The lessons she offers from what she's going through, I sure can use them for what I'm going through - simply because my battles are nothing on the scale of seriousness & life altering as she has. She is battling every single day. If she can do that, I know I can do the same. Life is full of inspirational stories and lessons for all of us. Keep seeking them and also don't forget your story, actions, your life - all can help others too. As usual, the world needs these lessons more now than ever!! Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”Love this post that came across my “wires” today. It comes from Drew Maddux (@DrewMaddux) and he shares this thought about the quote I will share with you as “Life's highest calling... Pick up the Trash...leave people, places, and things better than you found them! Every conversation matters. Every interaction matters. Every encounter is an opportunity to bring life, hope, and encouragement to someone else. You never know what someone is carrying, and you never know how one word, one smile, or one moment of genuine care might change their direction. Life is not only built in the big moments…it's built in the ordinary ones. So, treat every day like it matters, because somebody else's life might depend on it.” The quote that he shared with his comments goes like this: “I'm very optimistic that every conversation, interaction, or encounter you have every day can change somebody else's life.” Just imagine for a moment, if more people took this to heart and set out throughout their day to consciously live this out. Even in small ways, this can be a HUGE deal for others and their world. This is an awesome & powerful mindset to have throughout life. I dare you to try it. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found an amazing post with unbelievable timing. This really hit home as we just lost my uncle earlier this morning. He had a long, long life as he was in his early 90's. He fought with many different battles over the last few years - cancer and Alzheimer's to name just two of his battles. This quote hit home for me: “The people we love and have lost don't just shape our past; they show up in how we live every day.” George Couros is the one who said this and shared it too. George Couros (@gcouros) who had this thought about the quote: "You don't feel sad all the time, but for the rest of your life, you are different. I can't explain it any better than that." I love this other thought he threw out there about grief: “You Don't Get Over Grief, You Become Someone New Around It.” These thoughts here have been circling around my brain since I saw them. My aunt and my two cousins have been at my uncle's side for a few days now as the end was drawing near. This family has had their share of tragedy in their lives - but… they have always been there for each other throughout their entire lives. What a powerful lesson for all of us to learn from. I'd like to keep on my journey of looking to get better, every single day - because of and for, the people that shaped me and came before me. That's the best way to keep connected to others that make an impact on us. For me - it's one more balcony person not only cheering me on, but also gives me another big reason to keep working hard and doing my best in life. Thanks for listening. What if the pain you've been carrying isn't just physical? What if your body has been trying to speak to you this whole time?Soreya James has spent 35 years answering that question. A trauma survivor, spiritual rebel, and creator of a precise healing technology that blends ancient yogic science with modern therapeutic tools, Soreya has led over 30 global retreats, survived three near-death experiences, and sat with people at the very edge of life. What she brings to this conversation isn't theory, it's a life lived all the way through. In this episode, Lyndsay sits down with Soreya to talk about what it really takes to transcend pain and suffering. They go into her early encounter with trauma at 19, how she found her calling in a room full of people the world had written off, and the years she spent in India studying with masters, yogis, and gurus. They also get into the harder things — sexual abuse, the cost of forgiveness, being targeted as a cult leader, and what women in midlife actually need to hear. But at the heart of this episode is one core message: you are not broken. Your body is communicating. And healing may begin the moment you finally get still enough to hear it.Tune in for a powerful discussion on trauma, consciousness, chronic pain, subconscious healing, and what it really means to come home to yourself.Episode Highlights:(00:00) Introduction to the Pain Game Podcast(02:30) The Impact of Childhood Trauma on Chronic Pain(10:15) Shape-Shifting Identities and Seeking Validation(15:50) Soreya's Journey and the Turning Point Event(22:10) The Power of Silence and Listening to the Body(30:45) Navigating Menopause and Societal Narratives(37:20) Authentic Intelligence vs. AI(45:00) The Importance of Personal Responsibility in Healing(52:30) Soreya's Interactive Book and Upcoming PodcastFind Soreya James Online Here:Website: soreyajames.comInstagram: @soreyajamesLinkedIn: Soreya JamesBook: MetamorphosisFind The Pain Game Podcast Online Here:Website: thepaingamepodcast.comInstagram: @thepaingamepodcastFacebook: The Pain Game PodcastLinkedIn: Lyndsay SopranoYouTube: The Pain Game PodcastSubscribe on YouTube | Merch Shop is OPEN!! | COMING SOON: The Pain Hub - A Women's Healing Community. Ryan Michler breaks down what it truly means for a man to be "safe" in a relationship - and why most men get it wrong. Drawing from his own failed marriage, he explains how emotional volatility, inconsistency, and lack of self-mastery can erode trust at home. He outlines practical ways men can become more grounded, reliable, and առաջնորդ-driven - through emotional regulation, clear personal standards, accountability, and presence. In this episode of Friday Field Notes, Ryan Michler tackles a controversial but critical idea: what if free markets aren't the problem—but the proving ground for masculinity? Ryan breaks down how systems built on risk, accountability, competition, and earned success shape men into capable, resilient leaders. He contrasts this with the growing appeal of dependency-driven systems and explains why outsourcing responsibility may come at a deeper cost—your purpose, identity, and sovereignty. This is a direct, unfiltered look at what men lose when struggle disappears—and why the free market might be the arena men actually need.
