(With apologies to sponsors) STEP 5: WE CONFESS TO GOD, TO OURSELVES, AND TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING THE EXACT NATURE OF OUR SINS. FOUNDATION 5: "BUT IF WE WALK IN THE LIGHT, AS HE IS IN THE LIGHT, WE HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER, AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS HIS SON CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN. IF WE SAY WE HAVE NO SIN, WE DECEIVE OURSELVES, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN US. IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS." Some addictions are more straight forward than others. You can (and should) stop smoking meth. You can completely cut out drinking alcohol or sex, if those become unhealthy. But what do you do with food when you have unhealthy eating habits? You can't stop eating if food is your struggle. Long time friend MariAnne Spearman joins the show to discuss recovery from food abuse & addiction for the first time on Redefine Recovery. How is the approach to recovery from issues with food different from other addictions? Jeff Stultz spent much of his adult life as a Motorcycle Club leader. Living the life….violence, drugs, alcohol. In and out of jails and institutions. And finally, 2 ½ years as a homeless, crack addict. In April 2007, after several months in jail Jeff knew if he didn’t make a change he’d soon be dead or in prison for life. Curiosity led Jeff to a local church where he quickly had a real life experience with Jesus Christ and everything changed. Jeff got plugged in to the ministry of Celebrate Recovery. The recovery process led Jeff to a spiritual experience that changed his entire life! After being reunited with his family he moved back to NC where he met and married his wife Pamela. Became an Ordained Pastor and Joined the CR Southeastern team as a NC State Representative. In 2016 after putting the biker lifestyle behind him for 9 years, believing he had to give up the life he loved to serve God, Jeff realized it’s ok to be a biker as long as he rides for Christ’s sake. Jeff founded and leads Broken Chains JC, a fellowship of bikers who have found hope and healing in Jesus Christ through the ministry of Celebrate Recovery helping others to realize that change is possible! “When I got saved and sober I thought I had to give up the life style I loved…….brother was I wrong!” In August of 2017 Broken Chains JC became the “official” biker arm of the Celebrate Recovery Ministry and Jeff joined the National Team as the CR Broken Chains Nat’l Director. Jeff rides all over the country sharing with others the message of real freedom. “Change is possible. I know, it happened to me. I used to be a hopeless dope addict but today, I’m a dopeless hope addict” Jeff Stultz https://www.brokenchainsjc.com/crew
