Sidney Teerhuis, the man convicted of one of the most grisly murders in Winnipeg history, is the subject of this week’s podcast. Art & H.E. are tackling the 2004 murder of Robin Greene, who was stabbed, beheaded, castrated, dismembered and disembowelled in a room at the Royal Albert Arms hotel in Winnipeg. All of Greene's organs were removed and none were recovered, despite a search of the suite, the plumbing in the hotel and dumpsters outside, the Crown said. This week, another NYC based lunatic, this time, Joel David Rifkin. Active between 1989 and 1993 and believed to have taken 17 victims. An adopted child, he was a socially awkward kid, unpopular with classmates, and was a withdrawn person, living with his mother up until his arrest. His victims of choice were prostitutes that he picked up in Brooklyn and Manhattan.He had a knack for dismemberment, and dispersing body parts all over the place. NASTY…He was arrested after a short car chase, because he failed to notice he was missing his licence plate on his pick up truck, the officer detecting a foul smell coming from the back of the truck….. End of the road for Joel. 207 years in prison. Good riddance.

David Berkowitz, he was an odd fellow wasn’t he? Yup, son of sam, was an angry man. Art and H.E. are taking a trip to New York City in the late 70’s this week, hot on the trail of the elusive .44 Caliber Killer. Berkowitz grew up in NYC, served in the army and worked for the postal service before starting his reign of terror over the five boroughs. By all accounts, he had a shitty life. An adopted orphan, we was lied about his biological family and was noted by relatives and neighbours for being a difficult, spoiled bully, He was an arsonist, and loved petty larcenies. In short, he was an angry man, and a compulsive liar. He made up crazy stories about his neighbours’s Sam dog being possessed by a demon telling him to kill, to being part of a satanic cult and that the killings were part of a ritual.. The man was absolutely bat shit crazy, and a terrible human. He had a knack for taunting authorities with letters, and was very infatuated with his growing notoriety, going as far as to revisit sites of previous crimes. He ended up being caught by the boys in blue, and sent to jail for 6 consecutive life sentences, one of each murder. In later years, he became a born against christian while incarcerated, going as far as wanting to be known as the son of hope after finding christ.... What a loon.. This week, Art and a retuning H.E. Pennypacker tackle the case of one Darren Mack, who became the subject of an international manhunt in June 2006 for the murder of estranged wife and the attempted murder of a judge down in Reno. Darren Roy Mack, was being charged with the stabbing death of his 39-year-old estranged wife, Charla Mack, in the garage of their Reno, Nevada home. Mack was also suspected of, and later charged with, the sniper shooting of Family Court Judge Chuck Weller, who was handling the couple’s acrimonious divorce. Mack was angry over a divorce settlement issued by Judge Weller.Mack evaded police for 10 days, fled to Mexico,Mack surrendered to Mexican authorities after they surrounded him at a resort's pool in Puerto Vallarta on June 22, 2006. He was then extradited to the state of Nevada, where he was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife, 40 years for the attempted murder of Judge Weller.
