After losing her job, Kelly Peeler made a bold decision: she bought and renovated a home on the Greek island of Milos—with no prior experience—and transformed it into an art residency designed for women to rest, create, and connect.Kelly shares how burnout and years of living nomadically across Europe led her to Greece, why she chose Milos, and the vision behind building a global ecosystem for female artists. We also dive into the practical side of making a move like this, including what it takes to buy property in Greece as a foreigner, how she searched for homes abroad, and what surprised her most about the cost of living, healthcare, and everyday life.If you've ever dreamed about moving abroad, starting over, or designing a life that feels more aligned with who you are today, this conversation will leave you inspired to think bigger about what's possible.Want to build your own art residency? Kelly is hosting a LIVE workshop sharing key mistakes to avoid before you spend a cent and how to map out clear next steps for your specific situation.

Nech to robia s radosťou, nie so vzdychaním, lebo to by vám neprospelo. No poznáme Boha, ktorého máme prosiť o pomoc a požehnanie? Kde v mojom živote potrebujem viac poslúchať a podriaďovať sa tým, ktorí ma vedú vo viere — či im uľahčujem ich službu, aby ju konali s radosťou, nie so vzdychaním?

Modlitba dňa Všetko čo mám a čo som, Pane Bože, mi dali Tvoje všemohúce ruky. Odpusť mi, keď sa chválim svojimi úspechmi, pretože bez Tvojej milosti a lásky nie som ničím. Billy Graham

Dimitri Zafeiropoulos has been global beverage director of Greek seafood concept Estiatorio Milos since 2022, having joined the company in early 2019. He worked his way up fromthe role of sommelier at Milos's second New York City location, at Hudson Yards, to general manager of that location, to wine director for New York, and then to his current role. Now he coordinates supply of Greek and other wines to markets as wide ranging as Dubai, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He arrived in New York City in 2012 to study photography, paying his bills, as many aspiring artists do, by working in restaurants.Zafeiropoulos soon developed an interest and began studying it, both by reading — starting, he thinks, with Wine for Dummies — as well as tasting, and eventually being certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers. He recently discussed his approach to offering wine and other beverages to Milos's customers, as well as cocktails, with and without alcohol, and his plans for his beverage program this summer.

Sme len stále viac bezmocní a bezradní. Zahŕňa ňou chudobných a nízko postavených ľudí. Ak Mu patríš, stojíš v Jeho milosti. Keď sa táto pravda stane pre teba skutočná a vzácna, nebude už ťažké, aby Ježiš vládol nad zvyškom. Ak zostávaš v Jeho milosti, veci fungujú, ako chce On. Vtedy si úplne čistý. Nič ti nechýba. Áno, uprostred ťažkostí máš hojnosť všetkého. Hans Erik Nissen

Tesnou bránou - biblické zamyslenia na každý deň

Efežanom 6,18-24 18 V každom čase v Duchu proste vo všetkých modlitbách a prosbách. Pritom bdejte so všetkou vytrvalosťou a prosbou za všetkých svätých, 19 aj za mňa, aby mi bolo dané pravé slovo, kedykoľvek prehovorím; aby som smelo zvestoval tajomstvo evanjelia, 20 ktorého vyslancom som v okovách, a slobodne ho ohlasoval, ako som povinný. 21 Chcem, aby ste aj vy vedeli, čo je so mnou, čo robím, všetko vám oznámi Tychikus, milovaný brat a verný služobník v Pánovi. 22 Poslal som ho k vám, aby ste sa o nás dozvedeli a aby potešil vaše srdcia. 23 Pokoj bratom a láska s vierou od Boha Otca a od Pána Ježiša Krista. 24 Milosť nech je so všetkými, ktorí milujú nášho Pána Ježiša Krista nehynúcou láskou. Amen.

I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran! – @realDonaldTrump (Apr 07, 2026, 6:06 AM) Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East. We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated. On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution. Chatter that Matters
What happened to the Truth? - Gordon Pennycook

Chatter that Matters

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 5, 2026 44:05

What happened to the truth? I find myself fixated on a troubling realization. It feels remarkably easy to win over an audience with a slogan, a promise without substance, or blatant mistruths, even when those are wildly disconnected from the audience's reality. And even more surprisingly, they are not only readily accepted but also often repeated and shared. I wanted to understand why. Not from a political or media lens, but from a human one. What is it about human nature that makes us so vulnerable? That question led me to two conversations on Chatter That Matters. What ties them together is a sobering conclusion. Our minds have not fundamentally changed, but the tools used to target them have.  Unless we become more intentional about how we think as parents, citizens and individuals navigating the uncertainties and complexities of life, it will remain dangerously easy to sell comforting narratives that drift far from reality. Gordon Pennycook, a highly regarded cognitive scientist whose journey from small-town Saskatchewan to a renowned thought leader at Cornell University gives him a rare lens on how ordinary people reason in extraordinary information environments. Gordon studies why we are so trusting, why misinformation spreads faster than truth, and why most of us are not irrational or malicious, just distracted. His research shows that people do not fail because they cannot think, but because the systems around them reward speed, emotion, and certainty over reflection and accuracy. We discuss why falsehood often outperforms truth online, how social platforms exploit attention rather than intention, why news has become opinionated, and why there is still hope. I then bring in Milos Stojadinovic, a cybersecurity and threat expert at RBC, who thinks like attackers, so the rest of us do not have to. Milos explains how cybercrime has become organized, global, and industrialized, from ransomware-as-a-service to AI-powered scams and nation-state involvement. His insight makes one thing clear. Trust is still our greatest human strength, but it has also become the easiest point of entry for those who want to exploit it.

More than you'd expect. In this short history lesson, Chris revisits Thucydides' Melian Dialogue—where powerful Athens crushed the neutral island of Milos to prove its dominance. The Athenians argued that justice only applies between equals, giving us the chilling line: “The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must.”Milos was destroyed. Athens eventually fell. The lesson is timeless: when power abandons morality, hubris follows—and collapse isn't far behind.

Qual é a relevância desta descoberta?
