For our first episode, we interviewed Ms. Samantha Hoover, an LCPC (professional counselor) and CDVP (domestic violence professional) at Mutual Ground, a domestic and sexual violence shelter in Aurora, IL. We asked her about her beliefs on gender equality and gender roles, and we talked about her experiences with her work in the domestic violence service field. Ms. Hoover also addresses intersectionality and why asking victims "why didn't you just leave?" is insensitive and hurtful. You can watch a captioned video of the podcast on our youtube channel.
