“The Value of Godly Wisdom” - a lesson on the value and reception of godly wisdom in navigating life in a fallen world. Music: “Wise and Meek.” Lyrics by Toby Logsdon. Arranged by Toby Logsdon. Performed by “Christus Super Omnia.” Copyright ©TobyLogsdon, 2026.
Risk, Rears, and ReverbMarv reunites with two old friends from the Nottinghamshire music scene — Dolby Atmos mixing engineer Kurt Martinez and music educator/dementia-charity worker Rob Huskinson — for a wide-ranging chat about immersive audio, career risk-taking, and what it actually means to teach music in 2026.Kurt walks through how he backed into podcast/audio-drama mixing via Audible's early Atmos launch, why documentaries and scripted drama get treated completely differently in the mix (stage-setting vs. free-roaming immersion), and the gunshot-and-bullet-trajectory example that shows just how precisely spatial audio storytelling can get. He also talks through mixing Kylie Minogue's latest album in Atmos — commuting with it on AirPods Max, checking it on a Sonos speaker while doing housework, and revisiting it recently on 7.1.4 headphones to see how it's held up.Rob brings the conversation into music education, talking about designing a curriculum that starts from what's relevant to students now rather than working backwards from music history, and his work with Open Door, a Nottinghamshire dementia day service, where he helps organise carer support events (money management, physiotherapy, nutrition) alongside the day-to-day group sessions. There's also a candid stretch on ADHD, time management, and the different but complementary ways Kurt and Rob each work in a studio. The three of them close on the value of informal networking ("smooshy events"), the risks each of them took to build a freelance/portfolio career, and what's next for each — including Season 2 of I Am Not Nicholas, out now.In this episode:How Kurt got into Dolby Atmos, from a Guinness cinema ad to mixing I Am Not Nicholas for BBC/AudibleThe difference between mixing music, scripted audio drama, and documentary in AtmosMixing Kylie Minogue's latest album in immersive audioBuilding a curriculum around student relevance vs. music historyOpen Door — a Nottinghamshire dementia day service, and Rob's work with carersADHD, time management, and studio workflowCareer risk-taking, freelancing, and the value of informal networkingWhat's next: I Am Not Nicholas S2, new Alfie Duke and Meek singles, The Script's new albumGuests:Kurt Martinez — Dolby Atmos mixing engineer (Audible, BBC, I Am Not Nicholas, Kylie Minogue) — find him on LinkedIn and InstagramRob Huskinson — music lecturer and grants/events lead for Open Door dementia day service — find him on LinkedIn
‘Peacemaking doesn't mean passivity. It is the act of interrupting injustice without mirroring injustice, the act of disarming evil without destroying the evildoer, the act of finding a third way that is neither fight nor flight but the careful, arduous pursuit of reconciliation and justice. It is about a revolution of love that is big enough to set both the oppressed and the oppressors free' And beloved in a world that is filled with Goodness we still are vexed by a real history of evil and its continued expressions in our world - how do we stand against evil? Fight or Flight? Today we proclaim something big enough to see the oppressed and oppressor free - the Love of God revealed in Christ and that remains good news!
On today’s show, Fr. Bobby Blood shows us how to be meek not weak Jesus flips tables in our lives but he does it gently. Break 1 Training yourself to be more “other” focused Theresa – This is what I'm struggling with trying to be meek and mild. I have a living situation that calls for a lot of patience. I've talked to this with my priest during confession. Tom - Situation with my neighbor. Meekness played into it. Lasted years. Wife of neighbor and myself...her kids could do no wrong and always pitting their kids against ours. My wife and I would pray for them all the time. We finally went over there and said sorry for whatever was our part. Everything changed after that. Never looked at them with anger after that. Break 2 Angela – I forgave the woman my husband had an affair with during my pregnancy John - Incident between me and my son. It was so hard for me to talk to him. Went to a priest and had to wait. While waiting, there were two men yelling at each other like my son and I did. It opened my eyes and realized I should not carry on that way.

August 9, 2026David ComstockIn Matthew 5:4–6, Jesus continues the Beatitudes by inviting us to a life that looks radically different from the world around us. Through mourning, meekness, and a hunger for righteousness, He shows us that true strength isn't found in control or revenge, but in surrendering our lives to the love of God.In this message from our Blessed series, we explore:• Why meekness is strength surrendered to love—not weakness• How Jesus breaks the cycle of hurt, bitterness, and revenge• What it means to hunger and thirst for righteousness• How God's kingdom transforms our hearts before it transforms our behaviorThe world tells us to fight for power, protect ourselves, and pursue whatever satisfies. Jesus offers a better way. As we learn His way of living, He reshapes our desires, restores our hearts, and invites us into a life of lasting joy and purpose.

The Sermon on the Mount merits a bit of a review; a 'best of". Right off the bat it calls us to a beautiful life. It wants us to be living our best life in light of the words of Jesus in the beatitudes. It asks us to be BENT. Meek. Grieved with our sin and relational breach. It is not exactly an advertisement for a spiritual poverty.Yet, this is the pathway to making things right with God. Listen as we pick all the low hanging fruit from the first half of the beatitudes. We're doing this for you. https://youtu.be/QDahteYg28U

What does Jesus mean by "the meek"? Drawing from Psalm 37, Roman occupation, and our own political moment, this message explores why the future does not belong to the cruel, but to those who refuse to become what they hate. Ep 170On today's episode of The Stem Society, Cole Jackson breaks down two of the biggest conversations in hip-hop.First, T.I. is facing criticism after calling Verzuz a "poor people activity" despite spending years campaigning for a battle with 50 Cent. Has he changed his mind, or is this a convenient rewrite of history before his new album? Then, Meek Mill claims DJ Akademiks and his online coverage are responsible for a dramatic decline in his streaming numbers. Is Akademiks really that influential, or is Meek ignoring the real reasons behind his career slowdown?Cole gives his unfiltered take on both stories, the bigger cultural implications, and why accountability in hip-hop is often selective.Timestamps(0:37) TI speaks out about Verzuz(3:20) TI used Verzuz for his album(5:08) TI had to clean it up(7:09) Verzuz is not good(11:44) Meek Mill calls out Akademiks(14:37) Meek might be the problem(17:34) Meek Mill is not doing it right(20:06) Cole's Corner: Dame Dash
Christopher Coffman Matthew 5:5 This week we unpack what Jesus actually meant by meekness — not timidity or passivity, but the humble, God-trusting strength we see in Moses and most fully in Jesus. And the surprising good news is that meekness isn't something we manufacture on our own — it grows in us as we come to Jesus and learn from him.
