Stella is a psychotherapist and public speaker based in rural Ireland. In 2018 she presented a documentary called ‘Trans kids, It’s time to talk, You can hear the producer, Olly Lambert, discussing some of the challenges that he faced producing that film here.  We first met Stella after she came to speak at our event - Detransition: The Elephant in the Room.  You can hear the panel discussion here.  She is part of a growing number of clinicians who have concerns about the treatment that we offer to children who identify as transgender. She produces a podcast with fellow psychologist and Jungian analyst Lisa Marchiano called Secrets of the Motherworld. They discuss a range of topics but have a particular interest in the phenomenon of transgenderism and its impact on family relationships. We caught up with Lisa a couple of months ago to discuss her research into gender dysphoria - causes and treatments. Lisa has been speaking out for a number of years as we discussed on this podcast, and you can read the article mentioned here. Also on this podcast we discussed the case of detransitioned woman Keira Bell, who began transitioning aged 16. She believes she was not properly informed of the risks involved in puberty blocking drugs or cross sex hormones. She is working with former Tavistock clinician Susan Evans, who is bringing a test case to the British courts to establish that children cannot give their informed consent to radical experimental medical treatment. If you want to support their case you can donate to the legal case here.
