A place of engagement and candid conversations in light of the scriptures.Â
A lot of who we are has been shaped and informed by the thoughts we have allowed to grow roots into our hearts, which have then become the fruits we show and express
Have you ever tried "feeling out" the new year? if not, have a listen to see how this could positively impact and prepare you for the new year before and clearly, even after, it has passed
How lovely is it that we have a high priest who can sympathize and relate to our struggles?Allowing us room for mistakes and freely pouring out His grace over us. A love that doesn't cause nor require for us to strive but only to merely receive.
Waiting on God can sometimes be hard, but one thing that remains true is that His promises never fail!
Let's discuss consulting and enquiring from the Lord now, shall we?
Isn't it confusing? Living in a world, time and era that pushes us and conditions us to show and put on display all the little happenings of our lives forgetting that there is a thin line between expression and discretion
What a beauty and a priviledge it is to share in the gift that relationships offer us in their various forms. People, whether we are aware of it or not, are our greatest gifts and assets in this life and it is our duty and our responsibilty as we engage, connect and join together with them in our various relationships to be able to discern this
Welcome to the year 2025! By the grace of God, we have made it to yet another year and we could not be any more grateful for it! As we ease into the new year, here is a little re-introduction to get us going
With the year coming to an end, rest is imposed on the mind and on the body. So, until the Lord allows it, do take care of yourself and I will talk to you soon!
How often do we find ourselves running after the blessing and seeking after God's hand as opposed to seeking after His heart?
Prompted to quit and throw in the towel when things get hard and promises tarry?Well, remember that it is the fervent/ earnest prayer of a righteous man that prevails much!
Many of us have, often times than most, felt worn out, drained and maybe even highly inadequate to carry out some of the tasks the Lord had or is requesting from us. Forgetting that, this work He is calling us to is not work He expects us to do by our own might, our own strength or even depend on our own abilities, for He knows that we will always fall short. The Lord who has and is calling us to His work, is the same Lord who has and shall equip us for it.
Allow the Lord to write the script of your life story
When what you know doesn't align to what you're currently seeing and what you've believed and have been told doesn't seem to align to the truth of your life, what then do you stand on?JUST. TRUST. GOD.
And just like we conclude on the topic of How to Not Be an Emotionally Driven Christian with this second and final part of Emotions in Marriage. It is beautiful to see that in many ways, although expressed and experienced through the various relationships one may have, that emotions affect us the same way.Be it with ourselves, our friends, our partners or even how we respond to the world at large. This further highlights and emphasizes on the need for us to learn to take a hold of ourselves and allow ourselves to be able to feel out our emotions, yes, but always as indicators of things not being okay and things needing to be fixed and/or addressed but never as dictators of what we ought to do like many have of us have had to do in the past years.
Isn't beautiful and somewhat scary to see just how much emotions play a big role in everything we do?In today's conversation, we tackle some of the basics and some ways in which emotions can form and show up in one's marriage/ relationship.
To the ones in my life and the ones that have gone,Yours is the type worth mentioning
Often times than most, we don't realize just how many of our relationships and more specifically, our friendships, have suffered at the hands of our emotions and our inability to communicate them well
There will be days and moments like these, when emotions will try dictate to us a certain way of life and impose certain courses of actions based on how we feel and yet for such days and moments, we are called to rise above the flesh and remain committed and disciplined in our decisions as opposed to allowing ourselves to be tossed to and fro due to how we are currently feeling in the moment.
I found myself writing this piece after it came as a suggested writing line from my creative mentor and out of the four different suggested line ideas, this one evoked the most feelings out of me. Things so deep that my voice broke and tears filled up my eyes as I recited it.
How often has your jaw dropped when engaging in one-on-one discussions with people, whom when on stage and whenever ministering (in whichever shape or form), looked and felt nothing like the image of them we had while hearing and seeing them minister? The real problem is that many have begun running after the gifts and the anointing whilst forgetting that the Kingdom of GOD and us being representatives of Christ has a lot more to do with the fruits we carry and display as opposed to the gifts and abilities we have. The Bible clearly tells us that we shall know them by their fruits and also that many will come to Him saying, Lord, Lord but we prophesied in your name and did so many other things in your name but He shall tell them, go away from me you evildoers, I never knew you.Anointing is one thing. Gifts are one thing but fruits? That is the MAIN thing you ought to seek after and try your hardest to display.
How easy and quick it is for us to notice the wrongdoings of others and how those affect us.Forgetting that, it is not only the hearts of others but even our own that also causes hurt and pain to both others and to GOD.
Often times than most, we as Christians have become too casual about where and how we worship as well as the kinds of environments and places we allow ourselves to fellowship in. Failing to understand that every place we step foot into is an atmosphere that can either help us tap into the intimacy and frequency with our Lord or it's an atmosphere that can instantly do the complete opposite.
Isaiah 50:4 says,"The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary."What words are you hearing and meditating upon in your time of need and doubt? Are these words that fuel and feed the very insecurities you already have that are causing you to doubt and find yourself in a place of uncertainty? ORAre these words of encouragement leading you and pushing you to see and realize that you hold within yourself the very abilities and tools you need for the work demanded of you?
The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of orderThere is an order and a hierarchy to things that places accountability on one to be responsible for, look after, lead and guide those below them and when this hierarchy is not followed or properly implemented, even so through mentorship and appropriate leadership, that is when we experience anarchy in the body of Christ.
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden."Matthew 3:13-14
How many times have you felt taken advantage of, misunderstood and unappreciated by those around you? Dr Myles Munroe once said, "when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable." As the gift that you are, can you honestly and truly answer these 3 questions:1. Do you know WHAT Gift you are?2. Do you know WHY/ FOR WHAT purpose you were created?3. Do you know WHICH NEED you speak to and answer to in people's lives?
Often times than most, we only assume that those delayed and those suffering are the people whose lives and destinies are attached and weaved to us accepting and walking into the calling and purpose of God over our lives, forgetting that everything is two-sided and that it is rare and almost impossible that in any situation and life event, for only one person and/or party to be the only one suffering ...
Let's think and digest together a little on what it means to serve Christ and the many ways in which one can do that. Too many of us have chosen to believe that being in the public eye preaching and standing on the pulpit are the only ways to really and truly serve God and carry impact when really that is not what the Bible tells us ...
