In this conversation, Alex Vidal shares insights on leadership, focusing on key goals for growth, building a positive organizational culture, and identifying talent beyond traditional resumes. Alex also discusses the balance between giving freedom to team members and holding them accountable, while highlighting the need for a strong team to achieve ambitious goals.
In this episode, I share why real growth takes time—and why that's a good thing. Trusting the process isn't about sitting back and hoping for the best. It's about showing up every day with purpose, especially when the outcome isn't clear. I talk about how to stay consistent when progress feels slow, how surrender can actually create more space for success, and why uncertainty is often where the best opportunities begin. It's not about rushing the results—it's about having faith in the work, the timing, and yourself. To join my next free Friday Training sessions, email me at david@dmeltzer.com
What if your novel isn't broken—just still becoming?I'm joined by debut author Kristin Offiler, whose psychological suspense novel The Housewarming is the result of years of slow, steady work—and a whole lot of revision. But the thing is? She almost gave up on it.Kristin talks openly about her journey from MFA grad to published novelist, including:How her story shifted genres mid-processWhat finally clicked after years of rewritingThe moment she nearly walked away—and what kept her goingWhy stories (and processes) are more malleable than we thinkHow to keep writing when self-doubt creeps inThis is one of those episodes that will make you feel less alone if you're staring at a messy draft, wondering if it's ever going to work. Kristin's journey is a beautiful reminder that a long revision process is not a sign of failure—it's the path forward. And persistence? That's the real secret.

In this episode, I answer two great questions from Joy in Maryland. First, we talk about kids who spend most of their session playing with slime. I explain why that kind of repetitive play often falls into the competence theme and why it's important not to jump to conclusions until patterns emerge across sessions. I also highlight how subtle shifts—like reduced time spent with slime or changes in how it's used—can signal important progress. The second question is about when (or if) we refer a child out to other modalities like EMDR or ERP for phobias or trauma. I walk through my thinking on when to refer, how to manage parallel therapies ethically, and why CCPT is effective for both trauma and phobias—without needing specialized toys or supplemental approaches. This episode is all about staying grounded in the model, trusting the child, and letting CCPT do the work it's meant to do. PlayTherapyNow.com is my HUB for everything I do! playtherapynow.com. What happens when you follow your heart's calling but the path looks nothing like you expected? Dr. BethAnn Kapansky-Wright takes us deep into the wilderness of uncertainty where dreams and visions truly take form.Drawing from her personal journey that began on Memorial Day 2016, Dr. Bethann shares the soul-shifting decision to leave her established psychology practice in Alaska and relocate to Kauai following her brother's passing. This wasn't merely a change of scenery but a radical leap of faith that challenged her expectations about how spiritual callings should unfold."I expected specifics, concrete, a blueprint," she reveals, describing the frustration of seeking stability while simultaneously craving expansion. Instead of receiving clear instructions for her new life path, she discovered something far more valuable—that the questions, confusion, and surrendering were essential components of the vision itself. For anyone struggling with dreams that aren't manifesting as planned or visions that seem stuck in limbo, this episode offers profound wisdom about divine timing and the magic that awaits when we release our grip on certainty. The most transformative journeys often require us to trust the process and find wonder in not knowing exactly where we're going to land.Ready to transform your relationship with uncertainty? Medium, Mentor and spiritual healer Julia Marie has a deep understanding of many areas of metaphysics and spirituality gained through personal experience. She was just like you until her spiritual awakening in 1989. She tells the story of that awakening and the three decades of a life lived following the guidance from within in her book Signals from My Soul: A Spiritual Memoir of Awakening. The simple but powerful message of the book, and her life, is that each of us has the potential to discover there's more to life than what we can perceive with our physical senses. She shares the lessons and experiences in a candid, easy to understand way, and hopes to inspire more people to discover - or deepen - their connection with their Soul. The three primary messages Julia Marie wishes to share are: • The awakening process is unique to each of us, and the Universe will patiently wait until you are ready. • Your spiritual senses unfold organically. You are hard-wired to receive the signals from your Soul. • You already have everything you need for your spiritual journey. Your physical body holds the records of your entire existence.Master of Your Crafts is a captivating podcast featuring conversations with individuals who have dedicated themselves to mastering their craft. Of all the practices, japa is the most essential. It's the one that we do ourselves. We depend on our own sincerity to fuel the process. In the beginning, we also do it as a medicinal process, as when a doctor gives a prescription and says, "Take this many for the next two weeks, and then don't miss a dose. If you do, then make it up." And when the medicine acts, then we can see for ourselves its efficiency. In the beginning, we have to trust the doctor, and we have to trust the medicine. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī uses this word, nirṇītaṁ. He said, "Don't worry, this medicine is highly potent. It's been vetted by all the best medical scientists in the world—spiritual scientists. And it's a doubtless and fearless way that one can make advancement in spiritual practice. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #japajolt #mantrameditation #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

She discusses the frustrations that often accompany this phrase, especially when results seem distant. Melissa emphasizes the importance of measuring progress beyond just numbers, aligning actions with deeper goals, and navigating emotional responses to change. She encourages listeners to see the bigger picture and to trust themselves throughout their journey, highlighting that true transformation requires patience and self-awareness.TakeawaysTrusting the process is a mindset shift, not just a phrase.Measurement of progress should include various metrics, not just weight.Align your actions with your true goals for meaningful change.Emotional discipline is crucial in navigating personal growth.Safety within oneself is essential for transformation. The brain resists change due to fear of the unknown.Finding joy in the journey is more important than immediate results.Visualizing your future self can guide your current actions.Patience is key in allowing transformation to unfold.Trusting yourself is the ultimate goal of the process.Chapters00:00Understanding 'Trust the Process'03:11The Importance of Measurement in Progress06:17Aligning Actions with True Goals10:13Navigating Emotional Responses13:04Seeing the Bigger Picture
