What happens when your faith feels thin, your prayers feel exhausted, and God moves anyway? In this episode of Finding Faith Above, Shelby sits down with Cecelia Curtis, host of The Heart of Friendship podcast—a top 2% show centered on female friendship and meaningful connection. Cecelia is a Christian friendship coach, a wife of 22 years, a boy mom of three, and a retired military spouse who has spent much of her adult life building and rebuilding community. Cecelia shares her deeply personal story of nine years of infertility, the moment a group of women prayed over her without knowing the silent cry of her heart, and the miracle that followed just two weeks later. She also reveals the stunning truth that a friend and her husband had been fasting and praying for her in secret for two years. Together, Shelby and Cecelia explore: How God often works through female friendship and spiritual sisterhood Why borrowed faith matters when your own feels worn down The difference between polite prayer and true intercession Why loneliness and transition are not signs of failure How God meets us quietly, right where we are This conversation is for the woman who feels alone, uncertain, or unsure how to move forward in faith. It's a reminder that God is present, prayer is powerful, and you may be more supported than you realize.
Hey CBJ Family, Have you ever found yourself praying so much about a certain thing and it begins to quietly wear you down becasue you haven't heard any answers from God yet? We have experienced this too, and this is why we are breaking down this 3 part series starting today! We are helping you know and fully understand that feeling tired or discouraged in prayer, doesn't mean you're failing- it means you're human. We are talking honestly about why repeating the same prayer over and over can bring on quiet guilt and doubt that can creep in overtime. We want you to know that trhough these long seasons of waiting, persistent prayer still matters and God hears you. So many believers wrestle with questions like, "what do I do when I've prayed so much, and God has answered me yet?" Or, "why should I keep praying when God feels silent?" This conversation reminds us of a gentle but powerful truth: just becasue your circumstances haven't changed yet, God is still there, working behind the scenes. This epsiode points back to one simple truth: prayer doesn't always change the situation first, it changes the ones praying. If you feel weary, don't stop praying. If it feels unanswered, don't quit praying. If you think you've prayed enough, pray some more. This is a 3 part series and next week is part 2: what to do when life feels unfair. In this message, Eric reflects on ten years of Grace Bible Church's journey toward racial unity—honestly naming missteps, growth, repentance, and grace along the way. Drawing from Jesus' prayer in John 17, the Lord's Prayer, and the vision of heaven in Revelation 5, he reminds us that unity across race and ethnicity is not a side issue, but central to the gospel and the witness of the church. Racial unity is not about uniformity or politics, but about a shared purpose—to love God and love others. As God continues to form a diverse and unified community at GBC, the invitation remains simple and challenging: pray, listen, and trust the Spirit to keep moving us toward complete unity.

Growing up in a traditional Hispanic household, Jeanette Miranda Davila was taught the “safe path”: go to school, get a stable 9–5, and never risk security. But deep down, she always felt called to something more - something creative, something freeing, something hers. She chased that calling into the entertainment world, but motherhood shifted her again. She wanted presence, purpose, and a community that didn't yet exist. So she created one. Rooted In Her was born from her desire to support women navigating life transitions with honesty, vulnerability, and real connection. But her journey wasn't linear. After rapid growth (monthly events, community building, countless women served) Jeanette hit burnout. She felt drained, unseen, and taken advantage of. So she stepped back. Prayed. Journaled. Asked herself what she truly wanted. And the answer was clear: Build a real business. Build her own path.Leaving Divas Local was her wake-up call. Women weren't showing up for the brand—they were showing up for her. That realization fueled her comeback.Today, Jeanette is a paid speaker, community builder, and the visionary behind a thriving membership of women committed to collaboration over comparison. With a growing team and expanding events, Rooted In Her is becoming more than a community, it's a movement. Her mission? Inspire women to recognize their worth, break cultural cycles, and embrace bold dreams.Because when women feel seen, supported, and rooted in who they truly are, anything is possible.Subscribe to Young Boss with Isabelle Guarino wherever you get your podcasts, and be sure to like, share and follow on Instagram and TikTok.And remember, youth is your power.

“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matt 28:16-20 NIV COMMISSION: • a formal written warrant granting the power to perform various acts or duties • an authorization or command to act in a prescribed manner or to perform prescribed acts • authority to act for, on behalf of, or in place of another • a task or matter entrusted to one as an agent for another Jesus led with his actions, often before ever preaching to people: Fed them (Matthew 14:13-21) Healed them (Matt 9:1-8) Served them (John 2:1-11, John 13:1-17) Spent time and broke bread with them (Matthew 9, Mark 2, Luke 5) Encouraged them (Matthew 11:28 and John 16:33) Defended them (John 8:1-11) Prayed for them (John 17:1-26) “One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” – Matt 22:35-40 NIV Truth and accountability without a genuine relationship is transactional. It can appear critical and can cause defensiveness. Relationship without truth and accountability is superficial and temporal. It lacks real depth and can lead to the degradation of biblical values, having eternal consequences. “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” – 1 Cor 13:1 NIV

He explains how growing up in an environment that dismissed feelings led him to rely on logic and spiritual effort rather than emotional connection. Through counseling, self-awareness, and building a supportive “life team,” he learned to process old emotional patterns, connect authentically, and find healing. Makin highlights how unprocessed experiences resurface until they are addressed through relational safety, empathy, and right-brain connection.Purchase The Christian Leader Blueprint book today: https://www.ryanfranklin.org/blueprintbookDownload The Christian Leader Blueprint – Short Guide (Free): https://www.ryanfranklin.org/blueprint Take the Christian Leader® Self-Assessment (Free):https://www.ryanfranklin.org/clselfassessment Learn more about Christian Leader® Community Coaching:https://www.ryanfranklin.org/communitycoaching YouTube and Audio Podcast: https://www.ryanfranklin.org/leaderpodcast Connect with Ryan: Email: info@ryanfranklin.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rnfranklin/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rnfranklin/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rnfranklin/ Audio mastering by Apostolic Audio: https://www.apostolic-audio.com#leadership, #thoughtleadership, #ministry, #pastor, #pastors, #churches, #leadershiptraining, #churchleader, #churchleaders, #influence, #leadershipdevelopment, #coaching, #executivecoach, #leadershipcoaching, #productivitycoach, #productivity, #growthmindset, #theproductiveleader, #ChristianLeader, #ChristianLeadership, #LeadershipPodcast, #FaithAndBusiness, #PodcastInterview, #ChristianEntrepreneurship, #KingdomImpact, #PodcastInspiration, #LeadershipJourney, #PurposeDriven, #ChristianPodcast, #LeadershipEssentials, #LeadershipFundamentalsSend us a text
Has your nervous system been saying, “Ma'am, we are at capacity” ?On today's episode, Sam talks candidly about hitting her upper limits in real time: leading a rapidly growing podcast company, holding big vision with God, navigating marriage and support with Kurt, and realizing her biggest challenge isn't more… it's learning how to hold more. From full-body meltdowns to bath-time cries to realizing she still struggles to ask for help, Samantha walks you through how she's navigating this season instead of pretending she has the polished three-step solution.Using fitness, ultra-running, and lifting as metaphors, she breaks down how growth actually works: your “muscles” tear first, then you rebuild stronger. You'll hear how she's zooming out to make smarter decisions, building team and systems, and learning to trust herself, God, and her capacity — while reminding you that your limit is probably a lot higher than you think. If you're in a season of rapid expansion, big opportunities, and “good problems” that still feel like a lot, this one will feel like a deep exhale and a firm hand on your back saying: You're not crazy, you're just growing.Key Topics DiscussedWhat it really feels like to hit your max capacity as a founder and leaderThe difference between wanting more and being resourced to hold moreNervous system tools, regulation, and why your body “freaks out” when things explodePreparing your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body for a bigger missionA birthday honey roast, a long speaker day, and the bathtub breakdown that cracked things openLearning to fully receive support from a partner (without guilt or flinching)The deeper challenge of asking for help when you don't even know what you needBeing the “go-to” friend… and realizing you also get to lean on your peopleIn the business vs. on the business: zooming out to strategize, hire, and systematizeThe isolating side of “everything is working” and the pressure of holding fast growthOperating from your “next level” identity and bringing her into your current realityWhy your perceived capacity is usually way lower than your actual capacityFitness and ultra-running as a mirror for business resilience and self-trustOvercommitting, rescheduling, and releasing the shame of moving things on your calendarLearning to batch, build systems, and create white space to thinkDifferentiating between energy faucets (what fills you) and drains (what leaks you)The slingshot effect: pulling back to reset so you can break through the next ceilingShare this episode with your overachiever friends. Verse by verse study through the book of Acts Chapter Six and Verse Five
We look at how Jesus prays in this section of the Catechism. It is revealed how Jesus learned to pray, the frequency of his prayers, and where he prayed. Jesus brought his needs to the Father including his last words and final “loud cry”. Through his example of filial prayer, we are able to pray to the Father as sons and daughters. We can ask him for anything as all of our thoughts, desires, troubles, fears, and needs are already with the Lord. “The Father accepts them and, beyond all hope, answers them by raising his Son.” Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 2598-2606. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/ciy Please note: The Catechism of the Catholic Church contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.

In this episode, I talk about why blessings don't eliminate the need for growth — they intensify it, the difference between receiving a blessing and preserving it, how purpose, love, opportunity, and calling expose unhealed parts of you, why God continues to refine you inside the blessing, not just before it, the emotional and spiritual maturity required to sustain answered prayers, why blessings stretch you differently than preparation seasons, how to expand your capacity without losing peace, clarity, or identity and more.
