With over a decade of experience & 24x Super Host, I share my tips and tricks on making the most from your vacation rental experience! ðŸ ðŸ’â€â™€ï¸
In this episode of The Coast Host, Guest Lauren Skeldon from Girl's Guide to Home DIY tells her too 5 easy “Do It Yourself” or DIY tips for rental properties. These tips help both the owner and guests love their rental experience. To Lauren, as a guest, I want my Airbnb to look updated, look clean, and be comfortable/easy to feel at home - Cosmetic Makeovers: kitchen/bath. Paint the cabinets, update the hardware, update the lighting/faucet if you feel up to it, add a backsplash. - Lighting fixture updates - Entryway bench/hooks. Get rid of the coat closet. - Touch ups —missing caulk, paint scratches, dirty caulk in the bathroom , clean the grout, upgrade door knobs or switch plates - Smart upgrades: smart lock, smart outlets, smart thermostat, smart security system —most you just need a screwdriver and to be able to follow instructions Best advice: stick with what your comfortable with and know your limits. If you're comfortable with electrical/plumbing, go for it. But if not, a rental property isn't the place to try it. I change out my own lights all the time but often call electricians if there's issues with my rental properties To contact Lauren or see her DIY tips, follow her at: @girlsguidetohomediy on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest Or check out her blog page at http://Agirlsguidetohomediy.com Follow The Coast Host on Instagram @thecoast.host or Facebook The Coast Host and like, subscribe and listen to the weekly podcast The Coast Host on apple, Spotify and google. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
