The Exodus is our brand new series about stories of redemption, identity and hope. It is about God’s salvation in a time like this when people are scared and vulnerable. People have had their hope shattered, empires have crumbled, and our worldly crutches
Jesus wants us to be people who see His glory and are taken are amazed by it. He prays for us that the same glory would be on us as well.
What does it mean that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? We can look to the Tabernacle in Exodus as a model. It wasn't flashy from the outside, but the inside was special. We see that God doesn't just dwell with His people in the Ark of the Covenant, He now dwells in all of us.
Having received forgiveness through Christ, we must make sure that we are always offering that second chance to the other people around us.
The Kingdom without the King? Are we happy with the inheritance without the Father? No, because this is a bad deal! Our culture is looking for the kingdom without the king. You have to realise that if you have everything and no God, you have nothing, and if you have nothing and only God, you have everything!
Sorrows multiply when you chase other gods. When created things in this world becomes your ultimate, what you live for, what you worship and idolize. The psalmist, David calls us to Love creation, use creation, steward creation, but worship the Creator of all things, the only God who created all things by the word of his mouth.
What's the link between a man doing needlework on the tunic of a priest, and you being God's gifted ambassador in your home, place of work or neighbourhood? Join us as we continue with our ‘Exodus' series looking at chapter 31. We'll be exploring spiritual gifts, as well as God's plan to invite everyone to make their home with Him.
When we become children of God we are changed. The old has gone and the new has come. We are now clothed with Christ, in that we were covered by His blood when our sins were atoned for . When God sees us, He sees Jesus and His righteousness.
Relationships can be hard, especially at distance! By worldly ideas, God may seem distant and scary. But throughout the Bible, we can see that God truly wants to be with us. Through Jesus, God made the ultimate sacrifice for us to be reunited with Him, to know who He is, and to grow in our relationship with Him.
God stands at the door of your heart and knocks. If you open the door, He would come in. The question is are you willing to lay down your idols and welcome Him in? Are you willing to offer your best to Him and partner with Him in His grand project of saving the lost world?
In the new covenant, we are joined to Jesus. We have access to the Father. One day at the wedding supper of the Lamb, the church will finally be fully united with Jesus and we will feast with him on the mountain of the Lord. We are a people of the new covenant, we have a greater and more glorious future in God.
We can come to God not by our own efforts, but by faith. Trusting all He did for us at the cross and receive forgiveness. We will be saved into a new life and freedom to walk with Him, not by hard work and legalistic following of law but in the joy of having His Spirit with in us. The Holy Spirit gives us such a desire to follow Him, to become more Christlike through allowing His Spirit to work in our hearts.
God is a God of immense grace who invites us into a relationship with Him. In Christ, God graciously chooses you and calls you to himself. Our sin and failure is placed on Jesus on the cross and so no longer our response is to simply obey but to accept the obedience of the one faithful Jesus Christ, on our behalf.
We were dead in our trespasses and in our sin. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love, made us alive in Christ. Our story is not about us but it's about the God of salvation & redemption.
God uses the everyday experiences of life to help us grow. He allows challenges to come our way to strengthen our faith and mature our character. How we respond in difficulty will shape how we come out of it.
God knows all our needs, and He always provides for us because He is a loving father. He gives more besides our physical needs, He's given the bread of life - Jesus, Who is our greatest need.
God paid for our release at the greatest of cost, the life of His son. We have good reason to be praising God for breaking our chains and redeeming us from a bitter way of life. A good reason for us to dance and sing!
Obedience to God is not about scoring points to earn His love, we obey because He already loves us. Our obedience is by faith in the one who is faithful.
When we surrender all to God, the battle is over. He has the power to set us free from our past, and He saves us into a family. The church is God's household and that is where we belong together.
The all-powerful God is fighting for you. Even when it feels like He's not doing anything, He is doing something. He turns evil into good. Ask for patience in times of trials and difficulties, as you seek God to reveal His power.
In this episode, we see God's response to Moses' challenge “why God have you brought trouble on this people instead of rescuing them?” Having seen again Pharaohs riches and power and been criticised by the Israelites, Moses has lost confidence and trust in God and His promises and is feeling let down. This can easily happen in our own lives when we take our eyes off God and onto our circumstances. In chapter 6 we will see God help Moses grasp the big picture.
In Exodus 5, we see God and Pharaoh go toe to toe for the first time. Not just two gods clashing, we see the clash of two kingdoms; the kingdom of Egypt, which has no room for God, and the kingdom of God, which has no room for the kingdom of Egypt.
In this episode, Fusi & Joel looked at 3 great truths that we should always remember because of what God has done for us: we have a new name, we are blessed and we are loved.
Pharaoh, fearing the growing numbers of Israelites living in the land, tried to control them through such a heavy workload, keeping them busy and without energy to protest. We too, have our 'pharaohs' that are also heavy task masters. We cry out from under many burdens because we sense that the world is broken but we have little time and energy to act in all the busyness to survive.
In Exodus 2 the people of God are in a world of pain. Imagine a world of brutal slavery, abuse, genocide and total dehumanization at the hands of an oppressor. While Pharaoh, the destroyer looms large, God stays quiet, if you were in Israel at the time you would have asked “Where is God, can he be trusted?”
